There is an epidemic of lazy traders on PT who are taken it upon themselves to leave out the toploader as a protective measure for the outgoing trades. This happened to the last 3 trades I received between yesterday and today. I am sick of it. Get of your lazy bum, from a card shop (sports, Magic, collectibles, etc...) and spend the $3 to $4 for the 25 toploaders that come in a pack. And, by the way, don't these morons receive cards in toploaders... or are they getting their traders from the other morons who do not send w/ the toploaders?
This needs to be taken seriously by the PT admin. All we need is pricey card to be lunch for the USPS mail sorter. Luckily, my incoming trades were not high value cards and there was no harm. But that is no excuse to turn a blind eye and not do something about it.
This one guy had sent to me in the past (June I think) w/o sending w/ a toploader. I warned him to send, for now on, w/ toploaders. Well, I got more cards from him today - yup, you guessed it, no toploader. I messaged him that I was blocking him & alerting the admin. I made a case for the cards and will not release the held points until he mans up, apologizes, & learns his lesson. It's now up to him to figure out how to apologize to me after I blocked him. I'm not going to be a door mat for a complete stranger.
You don't really need a toploader for $0.10 cards and the fact that you got so bent out of shape about it says volumes about your character.
Comparable. Unlike some earlier sets the Italian version of alliances is not worth significantly less, but it might be harder to find a buyer. There are plenty of copies of both on mkm.
Hmm, that's interesting I've always been told that during that time frame there were fewer of the foreign language sets produced compared to English.
True but few people want an Italian copy > an English one.
Convention centers do not charge per person. That would be silly, as well as near impossible to enforce
They charge per square foot of space leased. Around .25 per sq ft is what I hear averages are. I have no idea how much space they are leasing out, but the Center it is being held at says it has 98,100 square feet of space, so that's around $25 grand assuming average convention rental prices. Although this page (http://www.reviewjournal.com/business/cashman-centers-rates-going-jan-1) says the price to rent the center is only around $7,000 for "trade shows"
Either way, it's *significantly* less than $10 a person. At most it's likely half that.
The TO's are definitely making some coin on this event, which I don't see as a problem. No one would run an event like this if there wasn't decent $$ to be made.
You do realize that they charge by the day and this is a three day event right?
The MM Bob has a good chance of being worth more with the new artwork and reduced rarity.
None of the modern masters reprints will be worth more than the original in the short term (6 months) due simply to the fact that people will try and sell them once the set is released.
If they reprint the enemy fetchs in a block set set they will do ally at the same time. That is how you can read it. They want access to all 10 colour combinations at the same time
That's not even close to what was said. The only thing to take away from what was said is that there will be at least 10 dual lands in each upcoming standard rotation.

I don't see how it's a scam. All of the one's I've seen seem pretty open about what you are getting.
So a fair price, player to player, would be $660 - $740 depending on condition.
It's actually worse than that, when you take into consideration ebay fees you only net $140 on a $163 box.
