This does not work. Eldrazi are not artifacts, and the Architect's ability only works when casting artifacts or using the activated abilities of artifacts.
Step 1) Read Liquimetal Coating, Spawnsire of Ulamog, and Grand Architect.
Step 2) Don't move until you see it.
This card seems really interesting if real. It could very likely see a lot of play in Scars block since the shatter effects will not be dead cards when this is not in play.
You guys are saying the duals just come into play untapped Turn 1 and 2, but they read "unless you control two or fewer other lands." That would mean they would come into play untapped as your third land as well.
"Combos" well with Ajani Goldmane. But I see few reasons to ever play her over Elspeth #1 right now - in aggro or control (or Gideon for that matter). Biggest downfall is that you -2 to make 3 tokens, but that drops her to 2 loyalty, which is too easy for her to be removed for R (Bolt). Similar problem that Nissa Revane had.
@Rotation in only one format. Technically, that reason would be true for Scars Block Constructed as well, but those should be obvious.
If anything, I don't think Gideon is getting enough hype.
It's not that I don't thinks he's a good card. I like him, I really do. He's a very nice guy...
But there are a lot of really good cards that have seen very little or no play. It just isn't enough to simply be "good" or even "great." The level of play a card sees is more dependent on the context of the format and how well it provides a role or function that a particular deck needs. We don't just build decks by throwing all the best cards into a pile. We don't build good decks by inventing reasons for a card to be in it.
Gideon Jura may see some play, but the decks he will be good in are few, and the number of copies in those decks will be limited. That alone means he simply can not live up to the hype around him as far as constructed goes. Even if he were played as a 1 or 2-of in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 deck, that doesn't warrant him being the best card in the set or even top 5. Hence, despite being a "good" card, I think he's still very overrated. How much play he sees depends more on the context of the format rather than how good his printed text is in a vacuum.
You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. I've had the same problem of having to search through the spoiler for new cards which have rotated out of the top links after big updates. This is a clever fix. Well done!
Patrick Chapin is notoriously bad at predicting card strength, and this is no different.
1. Momentous Fall
2. Gideon Jura
3. Wall of Omens
4. Student of Warfare
5. Consuming Vapors
Two of your Top 5 will not see much constructed play at all in current Standard and not likely in other formats. Chapin may not always be correct about what he says (and no one is), but due to his track record, his opinion is something worthwhile to think about.
I think the top spoiled cards so far in current Standard are:
1. Vengevine
2. Wall of Omens
3. Student of Warfare
4. Hyena Umbra
5. Kargan Dragonlord
6. Overgrown Battlement
7. Awakening Zone
8. Consuming Vapors
9. Linvala
10. Domestication
Honorable Mentions:
Consume the Meek
All Is Dust
Realms Uncharted
Boar Umbra
Inquisition of Kozilek - maybe extended
Eldrazi Temple - depends on the rest of the set
Surreal Memoir
When Shards rotates out of Standard, we should see the playability of many of these cards rise. I'm looking forward to that day.
Agree with OP, at least as far as how most have been thinking of how to use it. It's terrible as a reactive card. You just aren't going to want to sit there and leave 4 mana open as the opponent develops his board. Tapping to develop yours leads to missed opportunities vs removal. It's an awkward guessing game. If or when this card sees play, it will be used best proactively - rather than a "Vines of Vastwood," it will be a "Concentrate (or better)." I don't know of any existing decks that want to sac their big guy to draw, but I'm not going to go so far as to say there will not be one in the future. Perhaps as part of some sort of combo deck.
Vengevine would be the second "must get" card I've seen this set (Wall of Omens being the first). But this one is Mythic, the basterds.... In Naya it could replace the Ajani Vengeant slot, but it's practically a must have for jund: Bloodbraid into critter? VENGETIME!! Dead Thrinax? VENGETIME!! Random critter + Garruk token? VENGETIME!! Broodmate Dragon? VENGETIME AGAIN!! Which, by the way, makes me wonder if between this guy and Knight of the Reliquary all those Bojuka Bogs and Relics of Progenitus don't start looking mighty hot. I predict this card will be expensive, for a long time...
Vengevine doesn't return whenever two creatures come into play. It returns when you "cast" two creatures.
Green card looks really interesting. There are so many good 4 drops these days. However, Mythic? WoTC is really watering that rarity down. Most people would probably guess this to be rare (myself included) if not given the rarity.
It's also something Captain Black would have more clearly referenced in the clue since creating spawn tokens would be a key point. I'm still thinking it's either a 5/3 that "becomes" a 3/5 or a creature that must block if able as others have said.
P.S.: Since you asked, Constructed rating 1774, what's yours?
1774 is not very good...Were you trying to brag here or just having delusions of mediocrity? You may not win at mtg much, but you did win "douchiest comment in the thread thus far". Congrats. Your douche rating has climbed to 2055.
It says cards equal to the mana cost or less.

Haha. But that's where you're wrong, a chicken salad sandwich is a fine combo. Of course, I simply can not argue with Tom Selek's healthy 'stache.

I bet it was...
