My bant pod testing has gone great so far. I am running mana leaks though and its the only card I'm not sure about. It seemed right to include them since I was running blue but idk if it fits the deck. Its a great defence against doj which my meta plays a lot of

The only way you're going to get away with running 22 lands in a Pod deck is if you have 8 or so mana-producing creatures like Birds or Lotus Cobra. If you don't have that many in your deck, then you're definitely going to have to run 24 (at least).

Are you shuffling well? Is this MWS? Lots of variables to consider.

What's your logic behind this? Because I don't have that many high end cards and the deck doesent need to get them out as fast as I can like other decks. Oh and what are your thoughts about running mana leaks in a pod control deck? That's the only card I'm not sure about.

22 isn't enough. If you think it is, you are wrong. You want at least 24. Personally I run 25, since the deck has a high curve if you ignore pod, and you will occasionally have to actually put creatures on the stack and pay the cost in their upper-right corner.

I might think about putting one more land in but honestly my curve is not that high, and with draw and some ramp 22 feels great, I usually have more than enough to play titans or wourmcoil engine. Ill try it out again but in my last pod list 24 was too much.

And what would be a good way to shuffle, I usually do hand shuffling or very rarely put them into 6 piles. Now that u said that I have not ben putting very much time into shuffling

Ok I'm running into a problem with mana in my Bant pod. After a couple of months of testing I'm showing in games there is a even amount of times I'm getting mana flooded or mana screwed. Yesterday at fnm I could have easily won every game I played but there was 6 times out of 10 games I got my mana screwed up by 3 times having too much and 3 times getting mana screwed. I run 22 lands, a pretty good mana curve with only 3 cards with 6cc and 5 with 5cc, a lot of draw spells and birds of paradise. And its frustrating because its a great deck! Do I just have bad luck or is there a reason to this? And the problem is never not having one color, I have very rarely had that problem. After all I have read I feel the mana base is awesome. I just don't know why I have so many problems.

Master splicer is good too, if there is one with vigilance then I would use that too. First strike plus vigilance is good together

Blade splicer is the only great splicer, phantasmal image is a great card for the deck, and I figure your trying to make a beatdown deck, which splicers are going to be too slow to be compettitve. But if your determened then you can make a control version to last long enough till you can beat down the opponet. Wing splicer woulkd be good too.

With all the doj going around I think red would be better for the meta

Yea I agree you can make a great deck for the price of a intro deck, you can usually get 4 commons for 50 cents at some places. Red decks or elves are good cheep decks that u can make

DR: You make good points, however, my response would be:

Yes, Venser does have excellent interactions, I don't doubt that. As long as you have a board position, he makes that board position better. As long as there's something, he does make it better.

However, when you don't have anything, he doesn't serve as a good gas spell, nor does he protect himself, or you, from an assault from evasive aggression.

He also doesn't do much against Valakut, without an Acidic Slime, nor will he do much against Splinter Twin.

Overall, I've just found him to be very narrow. He's been great whenever he's been relevant, but the times he's been irrelevant were frequent enough to make me cut him.

Its honestly a style of play choice, because he may be not useful about 10 percent of the time but if you do play with him in a bad matchup just sideboard him out. I feel he is more useful every time I draw him that having a other card

So, Op, if you've read the responses you realize this actually isn't really that good of a combo. And in addition as was pointed out, Eldrazi monument isn't actually an Eldrazi card. I personally appreciate that you tried to think of something you found neat, but yeah it's kinda hard make something that costs 20 mana worth it.

Now I'd like to apologize for ... pretty much 90% of the respondents in this thread who've decided to be jerks. You see, to most of these people this game is the most important thing in their lives. In addition, in the real world, a lot of them are losers. So as a result rather than be polite and helpful, they treat you on here the same way they're treated in real life. I promise that despite their childish behavior, many of the people in the Magic community are helpful and friendly.

Could not have said it better myself! And honestly just play whatever deck idea you find fun and like! I enjoyed when I played my wall version of this combo! It won only 50% of its games at fnm but was so much fun Smile

The only way to do this is to survive that long, walls just seems like the best way to do that, and its a good mana source. Support cards help and add a hint of mill for a other win condition. And all you really need in the sideboard is the 3 elderazi gods. I had 7 just for overkill with casual games.its just a out rageous and funny way to make a deck

Ok I actually made a deck that did this combo really well! It wasn't too competitive but won a at least 50% of its games. I don't remember the full decklist but it was bant. wall of omens and the defender that gains life, over grown battlement, guard gomozoa, rite of replications were big. Some mill artifact that won a lot of games alone. Forgot the name. And with all that it was eazy to get enough mana. Omnath helped too. Every other game I got the combo off and it was jaw dropping for opponents.
