Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the Pauper format and after durdling around a bit, I decided to make a list myself. I choose Red and Green for my deck because I like the combination and most decks seems to play a handful of artifacts so using Tin Street Hooligan seemed good value to me. Anyways , off to the decklist.
Initially, I started with the Lightning Axe discard outlet but noticed quickly that it was just a cute combo. Now I still have Fiery Temper and Basking Rootwalla in the deck because mono black discard decks are still around and these cards are just a huge beating for them. And I still have Wild Mongrel too.
What do you think about this? Eagerly waiting for feedback! Thanks for your time.
Blue is so overpowered. Blue mages always find a way to disrupt my plans. I cannot play creatures because they are just countered. If they are not countered, they are mind controlled. This is not Magic. I want to play real Magic but those counterspells do not let me.
Well, I asked that question actually. We know MaRo checks MTGS Rumor Mill to entertain himself. I guess contract is out of bounds now, just because he answered that question.
But I really wish an awesome mechanic like contract waits us in those damn boosters.
Taxing X- At the beginning of your upkeep, sacrifice this permanent unless a player pays X.
I believe this mechanic is fun and "interactive" , especially in multiplier. Of course, you can get rid of X and make X=1, universally.
But, this mechanic has memory issues, and that is a big problem actually. Maybe something can be done with tax counters.
Basic examples:
Soul Griffin WB
Creature - Griffin
Taxing
Flying
When ~ dies, target player loses 3 life and you gain 3 life.
1/3
Eternal Debt W
Instant
Target creature gains Taxing 3.
Yes, you can respond to exalted trigger. You deal 3 damage to it when it has 3 toughness so it dies when state based actions are checked.(The exalted trigger is still on the stack.)
On the other hand, most lands have a mana ability that adds one or more mana to your mana pool. For example, Swamps have ":symtap: : Add to your mana pool." You can use these mana to cast spells and activate abilities and so on. And finally, your mana pool empties at the end of every step and phase, not just at the end of the turn.
But then again, another player might deal you "arbitrarily large" damage. He can just choose your life total. In order to clarify these situations, a number is required.
Edit - And for philosophical reasons, no number can lead to infinity. It's a whole different concept.
Those tokens enter the battlefield as 0/0 creatures, and immediately put into graveyard as State Based Actions are checked.(When those abilities of cathar's crusade on the stack) So no, those tokens will not survive.
