    Emmara :
She shouldn't be there. Because she's an impostor and not the real Emmara.
Maybe in another dimension she had the power to summon powerful GW elementals.
I don't know. Something happened, and Emmara was not Emmara anymore, just something weird and useless and lost in the maze.

Omg, it's Lazav! Lazav murdered Emmara and copied her but maybe he was drunk or got hit on the head and became a lousy Emmara clone. It all makes sense now...

Trostani: Emmara? Have you been lifting weights? You're bigger than our wurms! Good heavens child!

Emmara: Umm...yeah. Lots of protein shakes.

I'm in shock. She's so uninspired and blah. Ruric and Varolz are the only standout champions to me. Very disappointing.

    Savra lives!!!

Love the Chant, love the art, cost is a touch high, but its potential for fun makes me happy.

    Also...Savra lives!!!

I'm going to go with....the new walkers!!! 1-on-1, the new walkers get roflstomped. No argument from me. But why would they do that? Especially when some of them are quite crafty and knowledgeable of things. I'm thinking of Sorin in particular.

He knows of the Eldrazi. He knows how to lure them (presumably with shiny objects). Sorin, after assessing that Phyrexia makes Innistrad look like Candy Land, devises a plan to lure the Eldrazi to Phyrexia so they can go apes&#t and slug it out with Yawgmoth.

New walkers win! Whoever survived anyways...hopefully Sorin had enough sense to pull up a chair on the moon and watch from a distance.

  • posted a message on which guild makes the best cake?
Orzhov would have the best, richest, most decadent cake. Lots of butter.

Golgari's cake would have vultures flying around it.

Gruul's cake would be suckling pig.

    Boros...angel food cake. Duh.

    Selesnya's cake would be vegan.

Simic's cake would be a cakpie. Cake and pie spliced together. It would later achieve sentience.

Azorius' cake would be a simple pound cake. No frosting as it wasn't approved. Baking time and use of Azorius kitchen were logged and documents are in processing.

Izzet's cake would be a bit sloppy and you'd probably bite into a screw or something as the baker started making the cake and then got distracted and started doing something else.

Rakdos' cake would make Pinhead proud. Special attention was made to the frosting which was laced with arsenic.

No one quite remembers Dimir's cake. They vaguely recall sampling a curious cake but then blacking out shortly afterward. Azorius officials suspect it was ruffie cake.

...so let me get this straight.

Domri goes through a completely expected ritual of his people, something he knows is not actually dangerous, that there are protective spells and whatnot to keep him safe, has a bit of an anxiety attack, and that ignites his spark?

Hell, with the anxiety problems I have, I should have ascended years ago.

Now, credit where credit's due, I got a chuckle out of his wonder and excitement on traveling to Naya and meeting the godtrackers. So I hate him slightly less. Which is like saying the ocean's slightly smaller because I took out a thimble full of water.

I hate him so, so much.

Honestly just the thought of being paralyzed and buried alive gives me anxiety. I can't imagine going through it. Also, this makes me think of that SVU episode where Stabler went into solitary confinement thinking it wouldn't be so tough and ended up going nuts. He lost all track of time and looked crazed afterwards (I think he was only in there a few hours).

I liked Domri's story and the Naya adventure was pretty awesome. Makes me wish he could just port the Gruul there so they could be in paradise (maybe some of them would prefer Jund, though, lol). I'm a Gruul fan, though. I can't help but want to root for them (and give the less scary ones a hug).

    Quote from Forget You
I was just curious what everybody's thoughts were on the winners from the Oscars this past Sunday evening. I didn't watch the entire show, but I watched enough that I felt it was the same old Oscar show which dragged on far too long with to many award-presenters having to show themselves, ridiculous jokes from the host (this year was Seth MacFarlane which I suppose was Hollywood's answer to try to appeal to the Family Guy youth audience) and over-the-top musical/retrospective performances that just make the show tacky and awkward.

As far as the winner/losers, the only award I'm a little shocked about is Jennifer Lawrence winning Best Actress for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook. It's a good movie and she did a great job, but I don't feel it was Best Actress worthy. I didn't see The Impossible, Beasts of the Southern Wild or Amour so I can't comment on 3 of the 5 actresses who were nominated, but I did see Zero Dark Thirty and I thought Jessica Chastain's performance was more Best Actress worthy than Lawrence's. I'm wondering if the Academy gave Lawrence the nod because there's she more marketable: younger, arguably prettier and starring in the final two installments of Hollywood's next "it" trilogy - Hunger Games Part II & III. There's no more Kristen Stewart of Twilight; no more Harry Potter and other than the comic sequels (Iron Man 3, Avengers 2, Man of Steel), Hollywood's next big money-making machine is the Hunger Game movies and what better way to promote those than have it starred by a Academy Award winning actress - that way they could possibly pull in more audiences and money than just the tween generation that read the Hunger Game books.

Just my 2 cents there. Curious what others were thinking. It's also perfectly fine to answer "I don't care about the Academy Awards" because I get the feeling that's the answer the majority of people in the US have (myself included, although I'm always curious who wins).

I thought Jennifer Lawrence deserved the win. I actually wasn't really enjoying Silver Linings Playbook (Bradley Cooper's character was irritating) until Lawrence's character came in. Loved her performance. I wouldn't chalk it up to her being younger/more marketable. She's a past nominee and the woman has charisma and talent.

But I agree that these award shows for entertainment are rather pointless since it's ultimately a matter of opinion. I personally found Argo agonizing to sit through. I thought Beasts of the Southern Wild deserved the win. It was something special I hadn't seen before and it was pretty amazing imo. Glad that Aang Lee won. He's one of my fave directors. I thought Samuel L Jackson gave the best performance in Django (I thought DiCaprio was better than Waltz too actually).

    Opinions, opinions.

I loved the Kamigawa books (lots of great, interesting characters, and the plot was twisty turny). Didn't care for Ravnica (it just felt flat compared Kamigawa I guess..didn't get attached to anything in the story). Those are the only two series I've read so far. I have Agents of Artifice and The Secretist but haven't read those yet. My Kindle is overflowing with unread books (One Click buying is evil!).

Yeah, I see the Borg going nuts snacking on Force users and becoming ridiculous. Even w/o the Borg, though, the Star Trek universe has a plethora of psionic/energy manipulating races/entities (not talking about the Q) that have shown feats on par or eclipsing Force users. That one woman on Voyager comes to mind who was strong enough to knock their starship like thousands of light years away with one TK push.

Star Trek wins via greater diversity w/powers + tech.

N64 but Dreamcast is a close runner-up. Some great multiplayer games on both systems (Mario Kart 64, Power Stone...omg, why hasn't Power Stone been updated!!!). The N64 gave me Super Mario 64, though. My all time fave.

Selesnya (token variety), Gruul (interesting fatties), Orzhov (a hybrid ender/assassin...too many clerics). Since the guild leaders have been represented, it'd be sweet to get guild champions back. I'm dying to see older, wiser Teysa.

right now im torn between Orzhov and Gruul. Orzhovs new guildmage and the synergy with extort and Alms Beast is BAMF. However Gruuls' beat face in with Bloodrush is awesome.

This pretty much sums me up too. I voted for Gruul but Orzhov is tempting.

I got Azorious. Can't wait to tell my guidance counselor.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that Lazav infiltrates the Izumndi, thinks he/she/it is being clever, and Niv eats him/her/it Smile
