wait a second... ramp/token version of this + overwhelming stampedes + genesis waves + fresh meat = many, MANY wincons... Does anyone think this might actually be viable for competitive? Too many wincons to be ignored, maybe I'm overreacting...
B) That'll do for an amazing story or death, and if we go through a tunnel I win.
Would you rather:
A) Be trapped under a gigantic pile of trash, eating trash-fungus until you die of natural causes.
B) Be a rogue player during "Mirrodin" (1 month after Darksteel release specifically) at a standard PT, and be doomed to replay that tourney for the rest of your life.
C) Being allergic to all food but sewer water.
Hex is one of the best answers to PWs so far, BW works only if you play green...
Now, I guess that's what WOC planned Hex to be an answer to PWs, specifically Jace as most people want it banned, however, they pring Mental Misstep in the same set, which I consider a little offensive as "yeah, we provide answers, but we also provide answers to answers"... that's really bad actually, Hex already had its own weaknesses (which we all know), and really it needed no answers, so now, even if not to everyone will end up doing this, I know it'll happen a lot:
- AntiPW player: play Hex
- Jace Player: MM
- AntiPW player: MM
- Jace Player: MM
- AntiPW player: "****!"
Seems a little sad, no real answers printed for PWs in all but 1 color... However, the issue was Jace, not all PWs and the answers printed are general, for all PW or any permanent, Jace still being well protected by the decks he's being played with...
This is one of the few times I need to say this (because I really, really hate the card) but...
Needs more Jace 2.0
The brainstorm effect with Omen machine is just...dumb. Casting free spells is always good. Rigging the deck so you know what you're casting for free? Now you're playing like a blue mage!
*(Fyi preordain isn't so great because you don't get to draw a card. It does let you set up the combo better. In this case, scrying 4 with Forsee might be better, and you should keep a halimar depths in hand if you don't need the mana right away)
Ehmmmm, wont the brainstorm effect be nullified by the "Players can't draw cards"? The same for preordain... (I promised not to troll)
To contribute properly, Augury Owl would do really good organizing your top and chumpblocking afterwards, and is likely to fit a blue/artifact strategy (taken from magic wonderland: T1: any blue 1 drop, T2: Owl, T3 Grand Architect + Omen Machine, T4 say... collossus or alike?).
Dunno, just my 2 cents (or about ¢1000 cents in my local Costa Rican currency)...
Thanks!
Doesnt seem like a bad idea... might work in a stall...
