    Opalescense and humility.

Wizards had to almost write a whole book on this ruling.

Oww, my head. I shouldn't read stuff like this when only working on half power.

Ok, this really shouldn't be this hard to find.

What exactly is the critical temperature point for insect cuticles? I know what it is in general, but what is the exact number?

Well, you could use his second ability on your creature to turn your Bird into a dragon. Just sayin'.

The really ironic thing is, his first ability doesn't play nice with his last. If your playing dragons, your playing high cost stuff, possibly leaving him unable to use his last at all.

Also to be fair, his last is devastating in the right circumstances, as it can just flat out win you the game then and there. Not bad for 5 mana really.

But yeah, far as planeswalkers go, he's pretty bad.

Tarmogoyf needs to be banned or reprinted in order for Modern to really take off. It's insanely expensive.

Sooo...play a deck that doesn't want him. Not hard.

Seriously, I've yet to play a deck that actually WANTS a Tarmogoyf. Most of them either have a beater that simply works better for the strategy it wants, or it just doesn't fit in the curve.

They're Shards, to put it simply.

To explain it better, the Shards of Alara block focused on a plane that had been split into several smaller planes called Shards, each missing two colors of mana. So, Grixis was missing Green and White, for example.

And that's what the decks are referencing, using those three colors. Bant is Green/White/Red, Esper White/Blue/Black, Grixis Blue/Black Red, Jund Black/Red/Green and Naya Red/Green/White.

Hey, look! Even more graveyard hate! Because we really need to destroy any chance burning vengeance ever had of being a deck, huh?

Keeping cards like Snapcaster in check is a little more important. Sucks, cause I have and like that deck to, but you can't win 'em all.

Instead of printing crap cards like this, they should print new busted cards in every slot, that way that have to outdue themselves during the next set, and print even more busted cards. These crap cards are keeping us from broken cards damnit.

So they do have a purpose after all, who knew?

I'm not sure which EDH you are referring to, but games in my area rarely end in commander damage, usually it's the person who's infinite combo doesn't get disrupted

And this card isn't going to help there either, now is it? Unless your opponent's infinite combo involves casting cards of one of the colors infinitly. In which case they'll just blow it up first.

Might be useful in EDH when the pace is slower and more mileage could be had here.

Course, gaining a bit of life when your at 40 already really doesn't do all that much, all things considered.

It's not useless in EDH, but it's not all that useful either.

Pyroconverance is cute, but irrelevant. Like the flavor text though.

Epic Experiment: dear lord, you want me to have to make a Blue/Red EDH deck, don't you? I LOVE this card.

Now we just need a Awakening Zone like enchantment...

Or they could just reprint awakening zone...:D

Yes I know that won't happen for flavor reasons, I'm just sayin.

Oh, and the card itself. Useful...but nothing special at the end of the day.

I like how this card is completely screwed over by cyclonic rift.

There's not a permanent in Standard that isn't.

Just helpingly reminding that we also still have Intangible Virtue for token goodness.

First thing I thought of actually, just didn't mention it. Mostly cause I couldn't think of the name.

    Da heck?

Wizards is really trying to get my brain working overdrive on this set, aren't they?

I...don't know how to place this thing. On the one hand, getting rid of extra spells that aren't helping for more draw is nice, and that is a lot of draw...on the other hand situational as heck.

I think the point is that Populating 1/1s isn't terribly powerful for the mana we're expected to invest in it. A conditional 1/1 every turn for 4 mana is mediocre; 1 life and a 1/1 for 3 mana at instant speed is nothing special; Eyes in the Skies is an overcosted Midnight Haunting. I'm interested to see reliable token generation outside of 1/1s--Selesnya Charm is a good start. I'm not super hung up on Grove of the Guardian--an 8/8 with vigilance is sweet, but your opponent will see it coming from a mile away and it lacks protection. I don't expect it to get populated outside of win-more scenarios often.

By themselves, each isn't that special.

Which is why, far as I'm concerned, it's better to run each together. Populating once isn't that special, but being able to populate multiple times a turn, even if it's from multiple cards and getting effects from each, is pretty sweet.

But yeah, a more reliable token generator is needed.
