'flavorwise 'weave' sounds good as a named mechanic and ties in with the guild-theme (weaver-guilds are not unheared of)
Weave does sound interesting, but it'd be kind of lame. I mean "Weave Flying - +1,+1" would mean creatures w/ flying get +1,+1 until end of turn, right? Which is just unweildy.
Lately I've been talking a lot with a friend of mine from college who's working at Inquest now, and he gave me heads up on two of the new keywords/mechanics that will be used in Saviors of Kamigawa. According to him, there's a third keyword that has something to do with how many cards are in your hand when the ability triggers.
Redardless, here's what he sent to me:
Bindwinder 1UU
Creature - Spirit
When this creature comes into play, tap or untap target creature.
Splice onto Spirit - U (As you plau a spirit spell, you may reveal this card from your hand and pay its splice cost. If you do, add this card's effects to that spell)
1/3
Raging Oni 3RR
Creature - Demon Spirit
When this creature comes into play, it deals damage equal to its power to target creature.
Splice onto Demon RR1 (As you plau a demon spell, you may reveal this card from your hand and pay its splice cost. If you do, add this card's effects to that spell)
4/3
Breeding Kami 1G
Creature - Spirit
When this creature comes into play, put X 1/1 colorless spirit tokens into play, where X equals this spirit's toughness.
Splice onto Spirit GG1 (As you plau a spirit spell, you may reveal this card from your hand and pay its splice cost. If you do, add this card's effects to that spell)
1/1
Sharpblade Kami 1R
Creature - Spirit
Offender (This creature can't block)
Whenever Sharpblade Kami is blocked, all other creautres gain first strike until end of turn.
Knives were never as sharp as the battle of Otem, where a the unfortunate beasts plowed through the spires like a murderous avalanche.
Observations of the Kami War
4/1
Twintail the Unsated 2BB
Legendary Creature - Rat Rogue
Fear, Offender (This creature can't block)
B, Discard a card: Target player discards a card.
Never satisfied, never learned, and never obeyed. I miss him.
- Sink-Skin of the Okiba-Gang
2/1
Offensive Tactics 3RRR
Enchantment
Creatures have Offender. (Creautres with offender cannot block)
Offender is the opposite of Defender. Lame, but I guess its only natural. I can't say I like the new splice though, it seems kind of wordy, but I guess it inspires tribal themes.
