    A couple things here. I have never played a modern tournament and I plan to play in one tomorrow. I do not have access to goblin guides. I only have one. Things I need to know:

    What does everyone think about grim lavamancer?
    What about Chandra's phoniex? Too slow?
    Rift bolt? Suspend or not?
    How bad do I need goblin guide? ( my guess is badly)
    Keldon marauders seem ok, doesn't it?

    What about the board? I really have no idea, with the exception of shattering spree.

    Hello gentlemen. It has been a long time since I have been back to visit you guys. I am looking for a golgari sig with gravecrawler, diregraf ghoul, lotleth troll, dreg mangler, rakdos cackler, and rancor. Iwould love the rancor pic in the middle between all of the creatures and I would love geralf's messenger for my avatar. S omething flashing like my friend gideon over here. Maybe the yellow smoke and scroll could glow or something. I would also like my intials in the sig somewhere. As far as artistic ability I leave that up to you, You guys ahve NEVER let me down before and you all do incredible work as well. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

    @ Pinocho - Please do brother! He is an absolute house. The reason why he is so good is that he can protect himself. He is going to 6 loyalty counters the turn he comes down, and does 2 damage, and gains 2 life! He is really good. I also wish you played more mutilate. That card destroys aggro decks. I might take a black suns out for another swamp though. I think 23 with 8 ramp spells should do it. Also I owuldnt run the inkmoths unless you are runing lashwrithe or something to pump it with. I hated having a swamp and an inkmoth in my opening hand, it slows us down.

    @rurodrig - I tried the ramp version and I didnt like it as much as the version I have now. Nighthawk kills delver, and any sworded up creature flying or not, rancor or not. ( provided they dont have first strike) He is really good right now and I cant see my list without 4 of them.

    @ Pinocho I love the help and you might be right about the black suns. There is no way I am cutting sorin though. He has won TOO many games for me. He is a beast. My favorite thing to do is ultimate him play all my opponents creatures and then mutilate! It happens enough where that effect alone would make me leqve him in. Thats not even touching on the other ability. You are also probably right about adding at least 1 more land as well. I have never had any problems to date though. I also see the point with the nighthawk and mutilate but I love holding aggro off until I can sweep. Just seems good to me, but I dont know. I would love to see your list Pinocho.

    I have been desperately trying to fit 2x karn liberated in this deck but I cannot figure out what to ahve down. I play tested with a friend of mine for 2 hours last night and I took my original list ( pg 67) and replaced 1 sign in blood with sorin's vengeance. One word : MISTAKE! I cannot stress the fact that the card draw is crucial to this decks success, So never the less I put the sign in blood back in the MD. Although the vengeance is cute it is no way near as important as card draw and I almost never pull that off. SOOOOO, I have been racking my brain to try and fit 2 Karns in the MD and this is what I came up with:



    I took out 1 curse and 1 duress. I dont know if that is correct but this is where I am at. Please discuss.

    @ FC the deck runs 4 solemn's and 4 pristine tailsman's. Both of which are giving your deck the mana excell to remain a control deck. I know this sounds crazy, but 3 torpor orb is a monster against decks that have creatures with CiPE. I completely shut down a zombie deck because of it. It takes care of snapcaster, messenger, restoration angel, conscripts, and anything else that has those effects. You guys should try it.

    Are you saying that I cant because it a bad idea? Turn 2 shpere, turn 3 = solemn. If I put 2 satchels in and take out the spheres I have 1 spot left. Curse of deaths hold? Elixer of immortality? Or put the hand disruption back in?

    @ rawskillz you really need to be playing 4 solemn's or zero. 1 sloemn is not going to help your decklist. To be honest there is no way I would play this deck without 4 solemns. It serves soooo many purposes. Its gets a land, is a chump blocker, draws a card when it dies, and can be played on turn 3 with sphere aceleration. I have made some changes ( for testing purposes) but I dont know if this is right. Here is the deck as it sits now:



    Ok I know some of the choices look funny or questionable but that's why I am posting. I want to know what everyone thinks. I moved all of the discard to the sideboard obviously but I dont know know if that is a good idea. Torpor orb is fantastic against creature come into play effects. I won a game last week against zombies because his messenger was basically useless. Hex parasite I am trying out because I like the fact that it stops planeswalkers and if the board is clear it can get in for some significant damage.

    I like the fact that bluishgreen is running 2 dismember instaed of doom blade. It makes all for spot removal spells very versatile and even though it doesnt kill a wurmcoil, it makes it a 1/1 which I have no problem with. We are not killing it, they don't gain 6 life a swing, and they do not get two 3/3's. Seems like a no brainer and I will most likely be switching to the dismember.

    My main deck changes are because karn is a house and with the 7 (11 with solemn) acceleration cards he can come down turn 5 and I think we can alll agree that he can just win games. I added the 4th tailsman as well being able to gain 2,3,4 life a turn and negating an attck by your opponet is awesome. Let me know what you guys think.

    For reference here is my decklist. I have been meaning to put it up for a while:



    I cant remember my sideboard for the life of me but this deck made it to top 4 where we split the packs. Let me know what you guys think.

    Changes I would make would fit the 4th tailsman in there. Probably take out the vengence for it. I would also like to fit 1 maybe 2 karns in the main but I have no idea what I would take out. To be honest I love the way it played, very smooth and always having an answer. The only loss I had was against a miracle deck. I had 6-8 dead cards in my hand game 1.

    But am I waiting to be mana leaked when I dump all my mana into consume spirit? I dont know Garroth. I just wish we had an immediate answer ya know. Play x card and kill a planeswalker. I know I am asking too much since black got the huge upgrade with all the great cards, but I'm greedy. I want all the answers. Haha. I do run a single karn out of the board as well but I need to find him asap. I know this is going to soound like a bad idea but what about increasing ambition to go and find karn?

    Like I said in the earler post it ws the only match I lost tonight. Pulling them from thier hand or trying to kill them with your creatures isnt as easy as just saying it. I kinda like the revoker idea. torpor orb was awesome tonight.

    I thought of that Bishop but way too slow. I might just have to get lucky. I also main deck 4 duress and side in 4 despise but even then it wasnt enough. You have to hope they havee the cards in thier hand ya know. Its tough.
