It actually feels more significant than I would like it to be. The Narnam feel like it's worth it but I felt more secure on mana when I ran 0 fetches. It's a good and bad thing.

Nissa was for traditional Jund since not everyone has switched to Deathshadow Jund when I last played (2-3 weeks ago). We literally don't have much to side in for them and Nissa feels pretty good against Fatal Push meta.

Fog is for Affinity, Infect, Deathshadow, Merfolk. Sometimes we simply can't race or block well. Fog helps out a lot.

Sure. I currently don't like the list so far but it's w/e. Nothing special. Narnam Renegade has been pretty good so far but I liked the list more without fetches. Still need to do more testing.

People asking about Skinshifter is yet another reason why this thread really provides no insight to play this deck. I understand not everyone is pro but cmon guys. You shouldn't need someone to tell you no on skinshifter. Don't want to get started on sixth sense.

Why would you do this ever as Eldrazi? The Eldrazi deck is the control deck in the match up, if they have a board locked up against this deck why the hell would they do that? I like Fog for some match ups but you want the other player to be bad so it's good? Sign me out.

Wait why is fog good for Eldrazi?

Being disappointed in someone is the same as a personal attack? Sigh go figure. I never said skylasher was worthless. I said it wasn't worth it.

Wait wait wait the same guy that thinks Narnam is worse than Wasteland Viper thinks Skylasher is good? Not surprised. Why the hell is Skylasher worth it? Because you have flash it in to block 1/3 of infects creatures? Isn't siding in removal or Spellskite just better than just playing bad cards.... Also if you think Wasteland Viper is comparable to Narnam you need to play the friggin card. Experiment and Avatar become so much better now and Narnam makes some hard blocks for your oppponents. Rancor is better now.... The card makes this deck better... Ohhh wait the dude likes Skylasher- a card that can catch some people by surprise- that would make sense why they like Wasteland Viper.... Ugh.. Disappointed as usual.

So you are saying slowing the down the entire purpose of the deck is okay to play 2 copies of a 10/10 that can be chumped? I play Colossus in the sb but there's no reason to slow down the main for 2 copies. Also I already acknowledged you can cast Rebuke with Ornithopter, I just implied it's not going to happen anywhere as consistently to make Rebuke a good card. The upsides to your version aren't very good and the downsides seem too prominent to me.

Not running Cheerios isn't the best idea. It makes Reverse Engineer and Metallic so much worse and makes the deck very slow. Without Foundry Champion, I feel you are durdling around too slowly. The deck will get chewed out against fined tuned decks. I also don't understand why the hell your LGS would go top 4 with 7 people... 1-1-2 is a pretty bad record...

Edit actually what is the point of Metallic Rebuke now? The fastest you can cast it now is T3 in most cases...

Eyes of the Wisent isn't that great. Most control decks swap out into removal or sweepers. Playing both Wisent/Choke is too much against blue based decks. Fatal Push is making a huge splash on Modern so I would considering Blossoming Defense over Eyes of the Wisent in the SB if they are not in the main.

Well I can't really imagine playing both Blossoming Defense and Aspect. This deck really doesn't have enough slots. You chose between them so the nonbo is a non factor.

Why play coco, when you are skipping out on 3 drops? Also 20 lands for 3 cocos sounds bad. Maybe 1 but 3? I would also skip out on Narnam Renegade if you are gonna play only 4 fetches.

The current developments are pretty fascinating.

    Elephant
    • Worth running? Too slow?

Revolt- Which ones? Just Narnam or all in with Greenwheel Liberator
    • Opens up fetches
      • Just fetches? or add color for better removal and sideboard- which color? White? Black? Red? prob not blue
      • Remove Leatherback Baloth since we have better low drops?
      • Remove Aspect of Hydra? It will be weaker without Baloth but it seems okay
    • Hardened Scales version? Can it be viable? Probably not.

    Need playtesting to find out.

Essence Warden seems bad. You do realize you can't keep bouncing him if you have enough energy right? Playing something like Kitchen Finks seems way better and even then it doesn't really change much. How much is a couple of life going to do against Titanshift, Dredge, Tokens, and Elves- the plan is literally to overwhelm your opponent in these decks.

I don't disagree with the notion of playing your best rather than limiting yourself, to be clear. My main goal here is to open people up to the idea that there might very well be a more consistent approach to this deck that is a good deal different from the lists we typically see in this thread. I don't take offense and I'm glad we can use this place for healthy debate, as was intended. There are two important points that I want to make first:

From what I gather, you are a proponent of 10 one drops in conjunction with some number of Leatherback Baloths. I have forgone 3 drops altogether for a list running 19 lands and 12 one drops, replacing Baloth with a playset of Young Wolf. I think this makes the deck stronger in a big way in that you will a) almost always have a turn one creature to play (this deck can't afford to durdle on turn one, especially when the rest of modern is almost always doing something on turn one) and b) Rancor is easier to set up for fast damage without the risk of getting 2-for-oned.
EDIT: Obviously you're aware of the need to do something turn one, hence the playing of 10 one drops instead of 8, but bumping that up to 12 further plays into this and gives us a better chance of having more options on turn 2, with the combination of Treetops and spells.

I play almost strictly on MTGO now, where you're liable to encounter pretty much anything in a 2-man queue. Such an environment is obviously much different from an LGS FNM, so results will vary. That being said I think its safe to say that I've gotten to play against many more archetypes with this deck on MTGO than one would have at a LGS.

Now that that's out of the way I want to address your argument that Young Wolf will only get the Undying trigger if the opponent is bad, or playing sub optimally. If you had played with it against the likes of Bushwacker Zoo, Naya Burn, Dredge etc then you would know that there are many instances in which your opponent simply has no choice but to attack into Young Wolf if they want to advance their game plan of killing you quickly. Sitting back on cards like Bloodghast, Goblin Guide and Wild Nacatl isn't usually good. Plenty of times Young Wolf has got in the way of an early Goblin Guide, or has been a top deck against a burn/ aggro deck. It is also more resilient against Liliana of the Veil, which is problematic for this deck. You say that Young Wolf is easy to play around, but even in the instance that the opponent can afford to play around it and chooses to then I would say it is doing work by altering their game plan. This is especially true if it is hindering their attacks.

Perhaps I have had more success on the Young Wolf game plan because it is more reliable, and not simply because my opponents are playing poorly? If it is due to the latter, than I guess I am just very lucky with who I play against online.

The reason I don't want to play more than 10 1 drops is because I think Kessig Prowler is a pretty *****ty card. Right now I would never play Kessig Prowler or Young Wolf as a playset.

Sure Burn and aggro strategies allow Young Wolf to grow but the decks but they are usually the faster deck while stompy is more resilient with decent speed. I think this can change with newer cards but as it stands, I don't think stompy has the card pool to race against the faster decks. We have consistency and resilience, please keep trying it out with more 1 drops but for now I will keep it more consistent. And if you are telling me dredge will just attack into a Young Wolf without a commanding board or game pretty much won; you are telling me your sarcasm is actually not sarcasm and you are playing poor opponents.
