Just finished Ringworld by Larry Niven. Now a few chapters into Ringworld Engineers. Thinking about starting The Moral Landscape by Sam Harris.

Here is my two cents on what has been spoiled so far...

Gideon's Lawkeeper - cubeable. Just another goldmeadow harrier and that thing is pretty awesome. Not the best 1 drop, but better than many one drops. Repeatable tap effects are useful. Just have to figure out what to cut.

Jace's Archivist - A good card engine and helps any mill themes. Probably going to replace jushi apprentice with this.

Chandra's Phoenix - from the way everyone was talking about it I expected this to be a lot more broken. Good cubeable card. Also is great in mono red which is something I love to support. Not sure what I would cut though. Might finally replace taurean Mauler. Mauler is a beast, but supporting mono color decks is more important.

Also, that garruk would be insane. I would run that over the original anyday. Note: 3 green in the cost is not a negative the way I evaluate cards for the cube.

My thoughts.... (I am going to try and pick at least 1 from each color)

    White...
    I tried and I failed.

    Blue
Riddlekeeper - decent wall and mill support. If I decide I want to start supporting a mill archetype this will go in. (Maybe)

    Black
Scythe Specter – 4/4 flyers for 6 are not good. On this other hand this guy can force discards and maybe do additional damage. (Maybe, but probably not)

Sewer Nemesis – This could be good. Most likely to come out as at least a 4/4 on turn 4 and swing for 5+ turn 5. Could help a mill theme too, but that is secondary. (Leaning toward going in)

    Red
Chaos Warp – A red removal spell that hits everything is very good. Could backfire, but could backfire in a good way if in a tight spot (aka: un-winnable game) This would be a good reason to add an achievement system. 50 points for targeting llanowar elf turn 2 to play terastodon off a chaos warp. ( In as soon as I find the room)

    Green
Scavenging Ooze – Bear that makes itself grow. Yes. Graveyard hate is a rare, but sometimes useful ability as well. (In)

    Colorless
Acorn Catapult – generates squirrel tokens, but not good at all. (No) Just thought I would mention something that makes squirrels.

    Gold
Animar, Soul of Elements – double protection, grows, and makes creatures easier to cast. (Probably in)

Not much cubeable. There is some very interesting stuff though.

Also, these probably will not go that high in price once released.

Well...one problem might be that the playgroup is at most 6 people. We have at least 4 always, but an additional one or two people sometimes are available.

What is the cube size I should shoot for with that number of players?[/QUOTE]
What you have should be fine. It comes down to how much variety you want really.

To be more specific on my CMC and based on my spreadsheet of my cube:

    White: 3.3
    Blue: 3.2
    Black: 3.3
    Red: 3.2
    Green: 3.3
    Colorless: 2.5
    Gold: 3.6

It is a touch high, but not too bad. If you want a high power/intensity cube then aim for a lower CC. On the other hand, if you and your group like longer more drawn out games then where you are is great. Maybe going higher. It is preference really. Do not let the other posters on this forum say otherwise. Most of people on this forum just want the crack cubes. Then again, aggro requires a lower curve.

What's the easiest way to post my cube? Start a new thread and take the brow beating I deserve for a noob cube?

Just start a new thread. You probably will not take a brow beating though. Most of the people in this community are pretty supportive.

There have been some big changes to the cube recently. Thought I would drop by here.

I would cut aura of silence. I have played with this before and it is not good enough. Enchantment/artifact destruction that is not on a body should be at instant speed. The Legionnaire is just bonkers good.

I would not run the vivids at 360 unless your land section is big. I put them in my colorless section and that is a 60 card section. I run them at 450 though and I am never taking them out. The help multicolor decks a lot and can be played even if they are not on color.

P1: Winter Orb - I have grown to love this card. It has locked down opponents so many times.

P2: Pernicious Deed - Powerful and nothing else I would rather pick. If I do not pick it now I will not see it again.

P3: Life from the loam - I have never been sad to pick this card. Often puts me playing some GB combination though...

P4: Control Magic - the standard blue "this belongs to me" card.

P5: Demonic Tutor = powerful tutor. A little odd it has gone this late.

P6: Thoughtseize - black is open.

P7: Maelstrom Pulse - removal and looks like I am going GB.

P8: Llanowar wastes - pick up the land while I can.

No changes this time, but some updates.

The backlist has been updated. I am putting chandra nalaar on there because of the arguments all of you have made. So there is hope she may one day come back in the cube.

The want list has been updated. It is very small in comparison to how it used to look. I am pretty happy about that. Special thanks goes out to eidolon232 because your awesome cube gizmo basically created the list.

The pimp stat has been updated. It has fallen a little bit as the power of my cube has gone up. Now to try and get it back up.

I have added a new section known as the chopping block. Not very big as cutting from this cube is getting harder and harder. Tried to match it with the want list.

Now for the real news. I have uploaded my cube on tappedout.net. The link is in the OP and you are all welcome to go there and draft it(or not, up to you). Comments, thoughts, and suggestions are welcome.

Thats all for now and thank you for reading.

Your best bet for a playable decks seem like RGb -- this pile provides 3 playable spells + a wasteland.. & I think your biggest concern at this stage is to gather enough playables

Pile 2 offers cards we are most likely to actually use though. Char and Accorder Paladin. Also, we do not have a lot of black playables other than confidant. (note: it feels odd saying we do not have playables when this is a cube - they are really all playable) White has a lot more playables than black in our pool.

For treetop village, you could cut Ohran Viperor Vines of vastwood.
For Porcelain Legionnaire, cut Orim's Chant or Aura of Silence.
for Spellskite, I would cut Into the Roil or Hedron Crab. I know you do not want to cut the crab though.

    Jeez 360 is tight.

@killem2 - I do not really think wild dogs is worth running in a 360 cube. There are just so many better options and a 360 list is about as tight as it gets.

No Porcelain Legionnaire? This guy is sick. One of the best 2 drops in existence, if not the best.

    Not for merl

From the looks of things we need to really focus in on what it is we are doing. I think we should abandon black and blue and just go for a naya midrange deck. We have a lot of support for those three colors and I think we can pull it together. I am going pile 3 because it has some good green cards we can use. Pile 2 would have been my second pick because of accorder paladin and char.

    I vote pile 2.

Edit: I agree with the argument kcollaran made so I switched from 3 to 2.

I like all of those changes.

I do think you should run both ronom unicorn and kami of ancient law. Redundancy is nice, but I can see how if you hate the block you may not want to have it.

Fantastic upgrade, although at 440 cards I think Chandra Nalaar and Lone Missionary should probably make the cut. I like both cards a lot.

    Cheers,
    rant

As I said, I think lone missionary is good. I just need to think of a good cut for him. Massive updates sometimes see cards I want to keep in go out to make room. I miss a more obvious cut in the massive change.
As for Chandra she is only ok. Five mana is a lot for a walker that does not do much.

    Quote from wtwlf123 »

    2. Chandra Nalaar. Um, Chandra 1.0 is a beating and a half. A ridiculous amount of starting loyalty and repeatable built-in creature removal makes her the most resilient of all the original walkers. Even in a worst-case scenario, you get a bargain on a X spell killing a creature. She kills 6 toughness creatures for , which that color simply cannot do. Anything less, and you'll be left with a 'walker that can use it's loyalty to start killing players, or kill more creatures. I think she's bonkers, and leagues better than Chandra Ablaze, which is a steaming pile. Her ultimate is doable too, and wins the game. I would not cut this card from any cube of any size, no exaggeration.

    3. Amazing update asides from points #1 and 2. Mad props.

I cut out comment 1 because I agree.

As for 2, the fact remains she is extremely slow and rarely ever gets her finisher. I will admit that she is useful from time to time, but a walker should be useful everytime. Her first ability is not good enough for five mana and her second leaves me wishing I just had the X spell. If her first and second abilities could hit both players and creatures it would be another story. As it stands, she just is not good enough.

As for Ablaze, she is better than her counterpart if you encourage mono-color decks. That is something I like to do. Her first ability turns any card into 4 damage. Her second ability keeps red decks refilled. Her finisher ends the game outright. While I do not intend to put her back in yet, she may come back if I do not see the occasional mono-red popping up in draft.

#3 – Thank you. There have been some sweeping renovations recently. I have changed about 19% of my cube in the last week or so. Excluding pimp upgrades.

    Thank you.

    great job.
chandra and missionary were the only cuts i disliked,…
i suggest prison term and flamebreak (trimming your red fat would be a close second, it's a bit top heavy).

I like prison term quite a bit. The ability to switch makes it really good. I think I might cut pacifism. I might cut flamebreak, but probably not for nalaar.
Also, I am not sure why you think my red section is top heavy. There are only 10 cards with CC of 5+ and that includes the X spells. Also, nalaar would fit into that top heavy portion so a switch would not change anything.
    Quote from rantipole »
Totally agreed with qq on the suggested cuts. Flamebreak is probably the weakest, although Kukmano never did much in my cube.

    Cheers,
    rant

For us Kumano, Master Yamabushi has been a beast. It is a 4/4 so it is ok in combat and acts as an awesome mana sink. Being able to hit whatever as long as you have the mana is not an ability to be taken lightly. I would cut Rorix or Charger before I ever cut Kumano.

So expect to see pacifism leaving for lone missionary in the next update.

Anyways, thank you all for the comments and I apologize if I sound a tad rude. I do not mean it.
