W magic user all the way, regardless of the R and U that I probably also have (except may spells of either that involve light). Mostly just travelling around, probably getting involved if lives were at stake.
One thing I wonder about is the nature of the newts. In Old!Phyrexia they were pretty much humanoid things later turned into the various biomechanical things.
Here, all we know of newts is their embrionic stage, and from pictures like that of the Vatmother they appear to be cyborgs already since the embryonic stage. Are these new newts of a specific species or are they something derived from one or more mirran races? Or a totally different organism altogether?
That seems a bit... specific... mind if I ask why?
Because, outside of Scientology, they're the religions that have most justified the cause of fundamentalist stupidity. There is a reason why christians and muslims have more tragedies in their name than jainists, for example.
Ancient Egypt was pretty much ruled by the dual seaons of drought and flood; during the floods of the Nile the fields were flooded, so the communers were pretty much all availiable for construction (which is the kind of slave work most people associate with the Exodus episode) and other tasks. Hence, slavery was not necessary at large in those fields; it was present, but slaves were less needed.
As for sources, I have many. Here's one:
John Van Seters, "The Geography of the Exodus", in The Land I Will Show You: Essays on the History and Archaeology of the Ancient Near East in Honour of J. Maxwell Miller, ed. J. Andrew Dearman and M. Patrick Graham (JSOT 343, Sheffield Academic Press, 2001), pp. 255-76
I think there was a study that concluded that religious thinking is promoted by natural selection.
On the long term run, religion and atheism will co-exist (unless religious people destroy all scientific knowledge), but I hope that abrahamic religions loose on the long term.
Why do you believe that God is in the sky? Where does it refer to the 3rd heaven as being in the sky? Acutally, Satan is the principality and power over the air. I don't think Satan (who scripturally best matches your description of man in the air) healed me.
Genesis.
I am curious about Satan's association with air though. The only source on that is the Satanic Bible that lists Lucifer as lord of the air, and no older texts.
How about an extremist planeswalker who serves both as a hero and as a villain, threatning both the major baddies as well as everyone else's free will?
What Stardust said. The multiverse itself is not threatened by mechanical abominations nor the single planeswalker dragon, and not all of the lifeforms in them are.
I do hope they come to adress what the praetors once were. It would make for all sorts of amazing plot twists.

2- We have records of hebrews not only not being slaves, but keeping slaves themselves. Irony much?
