Ok, my second choice is nowhere near as interesting as Homura. Sapling of Colfenor
Yep sorry for changing that up. Trying to get the parameters right for when I do this again. Sapling of Colfenor I actually have already so, one card down 99 to go.
What's your budget for single card?
Anyway, I'll throw in obvious Sensei's Divining Top. If it's out of your budget, Crystal Ball.
Not sure of the exact budget of cards, but Top is over it. I wouldn't mind putting this in if I had one, I just got rid of mine.
Alright, uh... Let's do this. Changing up the rules. I'm going to mulligan the commander. However, jakalova still has dibs on the General spot. The general has to be at least two colors. If he doesn't post his replacement in a reasonable time, let's go 24 hours. I will declare the General spot open.
I really want to see this succeed and not go dead.
Ugh... So many great ideas then first person throws out mono red for general... Might i recomened you use atleast a bi colored general to keep it interesting? How about halfdane, throw infect on him and hes stronk... Sort of anywAy
Yeah I honestly wasn't expecting a mono-colored general, but I believe I have to stay true to my rules. Homura will be the general.
Alright, this might be in the wrong area. I call this place my home though, and yeah.. sorry if this is the wrong place.
A title that was eye-catching and some-what gives meaning to this thread. I want ya'll to build this deck. Well.. I'll build it, but the community will be responsible for the contents. Lemme rephrase a little differently.
Welcome to a game show. I want to build a deck and YOU will be moving the decklist a long. Each person may post a card. One single card within a certain monetary value (because I'm broke.) That card regardless of what it is, assuming it is withing the price range, fits the color of the deck, and isn't banned, will be put into the deck. The first 65 cards to be posted that meet the requirements will be put into the deck. We'll start with non-land cards and then once these slots are filled I will open land slots up.
I'm not sure of a price range, but that is something I will figure out once we start rolling in this.
So here the rules are again:
Post one card. That's it.
Well.. not a lot those...
We start with the Commander. First post after this will be the chooser of the deck's commander and....
Go!
Oh yeah, I'll put your Username next to the card you post in the decklist.
Magister Sphinx has assisted in quite a few kills since he's been added. He puts anybody in kill shot range of Progenitus.
Mayeal's Aria: The game after I put this enchantment in it got me a victory. Malignus + This is quite awesome.
Swap of Cancel for Dissipate was the last change made before this post.
Vorinclex is something I want in this deck, I have had very little mana problems, but you can never have enough mana.
Green Prime a Terastodon that gets me lands, eventually he'll fetch Shocks for me.
Disciple of Bolas I think is a better draw card than Visions of Beyond. It's a body for one, and I can draw more than 3 cards off of it.
Blind Obedience haven't noticed this do much of anything except stop a Kaalia from swinging.
Rite of Replication one of my favorite blue cards ever, huge sentimental value for me and so amazing. Unkicked on a Magi Sphinx is probably another kill, kicked on it and I prolly have the game. Kicked on Knight of New Alara is glorious, and I did do that once.
Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker 6 walkers in this deck currently, the most I've had in any deck ever. Bolas' +3 is just amazing though.
I need to find the other 3 Vivids I'm missing, Isolated Chapel and then I can begin on the shocks. By that time I think Progenitus will be complete.
I have a Baneslayer Angel and it's not as impressive to me as everyone makes it. Like it is good, but playing it I just feel I could be running something better.
Forgot two other suggestions: Moonveil Dragon: You seem to be very aggro so Firbreathing to all of your creatures is really nice, again cheatable. Archangel of Strife: This guy isn't expensive, just hard to find. If you can locate one it can definitely swing the game. Especially if you hold it in your hand until the proper swing.
Yeah I can understand Tunnel Ignus's placement. It is only 1/99 cards though, so it is a tad unlikely to get him out at the ideal time. Also he's a 2/1 pretty easy to kill as well. Not saying you should ditch him, merely saying you should run Shattered Angel as well! Also it doubles as a flying blocker and an Angel that can be cheated out.
Cavern of Souls: Progenitus is susceptible to two things. Board wipes and being countered. Cavern of Souls will tick down one more weakness. Alchemist's Refuge: This is a maybe, being able to flash anything out is cool. Also allows a flash Progenitus. Avacyn, Angel of Hope: Destroy Board Wipes. Expedition Map: Search up a land I really need or if Pro is ready to come out search up Cavern.
It's weird for me seeing a Kaalia deck that has more than 2 or 3 creatures that aren't Angels, Demons, or Dragons. I think I have a few suggestions, perhaps some that have crossed your mind and aren't being played for reasons unbeknownst to me.
Avacyn, Angel of Hope cheat her into play and exile and sacrifice spells are your only problem. Reya Dawnbringer is also cheatable and she reanimated a creature from your grave each upkeep. Balefire Dragon again another cheater, but this one can do one sided wipes.
I really don't like Tunnel Ignus maybe it's in there because someone plays heavy mana ramp, and I can understand why it's in there for your group.
The one upside I see your deck has it that it doesn't really rely too much on Kaalia. She's the type of commander everyone wants dead. So you don't need to protect her too much.
Came into a Progenitus earlier this week. He's been on my list of "EDH Decks I Want To Make" since I first started playing EDH. I gotta say he is really fun to build. You can't build around Progenitus you have to build around Progenitus. He can't be equipped, enchanted, targeted. So Blankets were the cards I needed. Collective Blessing, Rootborn Defenses, Akroma's Memorial.
In the week he's been functional he has seen a lot of play, and I enjoyed playing him. I haven't quite enjoyed a deck this much since I built my original Stoutarm deck. Firstly I am in no way a cut-throat competitive type. I'm pretty casual in my play. I play and enjoy winning but it's not on my list of priorities. This deck can win, and when it does it gives me immense joy. The deck will be going through changes, which is a reason why I offer it up to ya'll. Any feedback is welcome. I will consider all suggestions, but I may not run them if I don't think it flows well with my style. I would like to not have a repeat of my Stoutarm deck, which got aggressive. Still my favorite deck, but it kinda lost its essence.
.
How does everyone feel about Flusterstorm in a non storm deck? I have a copy and I'm considering using it.
That's all for now. thanks for all the help.
I say it's good. At the very least in a turn it's a one blue "Counter target spell unless it's controller pays 2". Since storm tracks all spells cast and not just your own. So yeah, I'd say run it.
Updated first post. will be getting some wish listed cards soon.
Also a stack clarification question. With a kicked rite targeting a "bring back instant" creature, if I target Turnabout I'd be able to cast turnabout before the second token enters?
Alright so here's how this works. Let's say your "Bring back an instant" creature is Archaeomancer and Turnabout is already in your grave. You kick Rite of Replication on the Archaeomancer all of the tokens will enter the battlefield at the same time, not one after another. This means that all of their ETBs trigger and when they do you choose an Instant or Sorcery in your grave to return the moment they hit the field (as opposed to on resolution.) Here's where I could lose you in the explanation, so I'll try to explain it as well as possible. Assuming you target Turnabout with all of the triggers only one will actually bring it back. Here's why: Once a card leaves one zone to another it becomes, unless specifically stated, a new object to the game. So casting Turnabout before the other 4 resolve will not enable you to get it back the subsequent times because it is not the same card according to the game's logic even though it is infact the same card to you.
Oh actually, since your deck kinda works on this here's a better way to word it. There is a creature on the battlefield, 'kay? An opponent targets it with lightning bolt and you use flicker on the creature. This flickering counters the lightning bolt since it's left the field, even if only briefly.
Sorry if that was hard to follow. Rules can be tough to explain to people, I like using analogies for it to make it easier to follow.
I have a Doran deck that is 3 cards away from being unproxied. I love the deck it is a whole lot of fun. Mine is not tribal though so it's a tad different.
I love Bar the Doors and Tower Defense. You could also consider Solidarity it is just as good.
You mention Ensnaring Bridge could back fire on you, and I agree that it can to you. My Doran deck focuses solely on keeping my powers low (Heartless Summoning, Animate Dead) and raising my opponents (Sheltering Ancient). So the goal is to have my powers as low as possible so that they can swing under the bridge and my opponents are too big to do anything. It also runs Meekstone and Marble Titan and a couple other things to benefit from this style. I used to run Timber Protector but he didn't really give much benefit with his +1/+1, also he died to my board wipes (Retribution of the Meek, Solar Tide).
As far as my knowledge knows calling Beast on Cavern of Souls won't do anything for suspending Greater Gargadon since the spell isn't cast until the suspend counters are depleted.
Yep sorry for changing that up. Trying to get the parameters right for when I do this again. Sapling of Colfenor I actually have already so, one card down 99 to go.
Not sure of the exact budget of cards, but Top is over it. I wouldn't mind putting this in if I had one, I just got rid of mine.

Yeah I honestly wasn't expecting a mono-colored general, but I believe I have to stay true to my rules. Homura will be the general.
I was actually hoping someone would do Ramirez DePietro
Also since this seems like a super fun idea, I will prolly do this type of deck construction a few times.
A title that was eye-catching and some-what gives meaning to this thread. I want ya'll to build this deck. Well.. I'll build it, but the community will be responsible for the contents. Lemme rephrase a little differently.

Promise of Power for drawing if you need it. I like it a lot better than Necrologia.
Wheel of Fortune and Reforge the Soul also fit in well.
Cavern of Souls: Progenitus is susceptible to two things. Board wipes and being countered. Cavern of Souls will tick down one more weakness.
Alchemist's Refuge: This is a maybe, being able to flash anything out is cool. Also allows a flash Progenitus.

Runed Arch could give your guys the evasion for a game ending swing.
Some spot removal I run that you don't Unmake, Ashes to Ashes, and Tragic Slip.
Other than that, this deck looks pretty neat.
