BTW, I'm pretty sure you said you're Q'ed for Honolulu. Congrats. If you use MTGO and want to get some test games in, let me know.

Yeah, I am qualified, but 1). I despise MTGO and 2). I am unable to attend the PT. Issues at home and whatnot. So, yeah. St. Louis needs to have a damn PT.

I guess if you have gilded light, then the desire matchup swings more to your favor, but I still think the matchup is not in your favor.

I play 3 Gilded Light and 3 Orim's Chant maindeck, so the Desire matchup is even at worst. Again, no one here really plays combo, so I haven't tested against Desire since November. I very well could turn out to know absolutely nothing. Tom will back me up on that one.

    Deleting posts= Not tech.

How is slide viable in the current meta?

It has what I would assume to be bad matchups against T&N, Tog and CAL, ScepterChant/No-Stick, Friggorid, and about even matchups in desire and aggro-rock, but good matchups against affinity and gobos. This doesn't seem very good currently.

Well, I have done a lot of testing against Scepter-Chant, CAL, AgRock, and 'Tog, and have found those matchups to be slightly in favor of Slide. Of course, this depends heavily on card choices, and I have tuned the deck to the point where it does well against most of the control decks in the format, yet still had good matchups against the aggro decks. Friggorid has shown to be an even matchup in our testing, but as I stated over at SCG, it's about the most luck-based matchup Slide has, because the matchup varies wildly with different opening hands; you MUST mulligan particularly intelligently against Friggorid, but sometimes they just win.

No one here plays T&N or Desire, so my testing has been minimal against those. However, in testing from a while back, the Desire matchup pretty much even.

    That is all.

    Tom, don't oppress people!

Anyway, I've been playing Slide a lot for the past few months (it became my "pet" deck after I qualified for Honolulu), and as I said over at SCG, I just couldn't get the black splash going nearly as well as I liked; it lacked the consistency of straight W/G. Here is a sort of updated list of what I have been playing as of late:

I previously had 1 Scrabbling Claws maindeck, but the last slot is always in flux, so it may come back. In the 2 local tourneys in which I have played the deck, I have lost 0 matches, with 2 unintentional draws (once with CAL, another with the mirror). The sideboard is currently under construction to better battle Friggorid, so I won't post anything prematurely on that part.

I'll probably switch to the black splash post-Guildpact, since the mana base will be much easier to support with Godless Shrine. I am not saying that my build is the optimal one, but it has given me overwhelmingly positive results.

    Thoughts?
