Cards like goyf allows them to set a higher MSRP in the first place. In that way, he DOES dictate the price of those packs. It's the same here. But since planechase guarantees you every single plane card in existence instead of randomizing, it is set higher. If Wizards print 2 random plane per pack the MSRP will also be a lot lower.

If you feel that the price is too high, then this product doesn't aim at you.I myself buy the planechase only for the plane. The deck itself is virtually worthless (except the 2012 one which contains new card, and they do include those here). I pay $160 for 80 plane and need to hunt down the other 6 myself, adding to the cost. $150 is a fine deal, and if I don't own planechase already I'll probably pay for it.

Except they gave us 480 cards with DD Anthology and that only cost $100 when here we are getting 326 and somehow it adds up to an extra $50. Even given the planes and their semi rarity, the format isn't all that popular so why make it more expensive when this could mean getting more people into this format and making future installments? For what we are getting there is no excuse for $150.

We are getting about 35% to 40% less than the last Anthology and yet it costs 50% more. How does that make sense? This is the same thing with MM2 compared to MM1 and how they charged more for MM2 even though it was far worse, in almost every way, than its predecessor.

I know they don't want the cards in these to be necessarily playable in Standard, but all it takes is the PW to be decent and one of the cards that search for it to be decent and we could be looking at more problems, unless all the card does is search for that planeswalker, but I suppose we will see. I'm glad though that intro decks are getting an update and this could mean seeing other PWs that we may not in card form in a set. Like now (yes I know it won't come out until Kaladesh) if Tamiyo didn't get a card we could get one of her, which is nice to give some PWs some extra stuff and stand out more, even if these won't be the best.

I'm only in it for the reprints of Zombies.

$150 is much for 2/3rds of a product though. $100 and its fine ish, $100 with all the decks and it sells out.

EDIT: There aren't any zombies in Planechase 2012. lol. Tokens then, I guess?

Took a look and this would give us the 3/3 green boar token and eldrazi spawn tokens with the <> mana symbol. Which weren't obtainable before this, so I guess that's something. Now if only we could get a 0/1 red kobold token and the 2/2 colorless Assembly Worker token, or practically all of the missed tokens from Commander 2013.

A Little Feat reference? Pretty good man. And I agree. If they reprint it, I can't imagine it being an uncommon simply because they're aware of the effect it will have on the collector's market. Rare maybe, hopefully not mythic, though, as it's not that huge of an effect... though I'd take it as a mythic over the rumored Chain Lightning being mythic.

Every P3K card that has been reprinted has had its price dropped quite a bit. Take a look at all the ones they put into Commander 2013 and the prices of the original, most fell 50% or more, and their rarity stayed the same. If Imperial Recruiter is reprinted it is going to take a major hit, even if it is mythic. In EMA it really should be rare though.

It is ******* hysterical to me that all the replies in this thread are *****ing about the price. Do you know what this stuff goes for? A set of just the 40 planes from 2012 routinely sells for $80 on ebay. Add the 4 decks from 2012 and it's over $200. The set of JUST the 86 planes is $175 and out of stock on SCG with no copies having been sold on ebay in the past several months, meaning they are genuinely hard to find.

Maybe we can do what, like 3 minutes of research before automatically complaining about everything?

What does the secondary market have anything to do with making this product $50 more than it really should be? That's the same line of thinking that gives us $10 packs. An anthology is a collection of past releases, so why does this only include one year of decks? The only anthology part of this is the planechase cards themselves, and even then they could have released it separately. The 4 decks would only run $120 normally (when they were released), so why is the other 40 plane cards you would get from 2009 and the few promos suddenly worth another $30 when that was the cost of one the decks normally. For what we are getting this should be no more than $100. It doesn't make sense to make this that expensive. At $150 having all 8 decks and all planes would have been perfect, especially since the last anthology we got 8 decks for $100 the only new thing is a deck of ~80 oversized planes cards. Not to mention getting some more reprints out there of the cards from PC 2009.

This was not the Planechase announcement I was looking for.

Here's hoping it will generate interest in another edition. It's a good way for players who missed out to get all the planes, but I just don't want it to be pointed to as a reason for not making any more if sales aren't good. I saw the duel deck anthology sit for a while and I figured that would be a better seller.

Are there any valuable cards from the 2012 PCH decks besides Shardless Agent? There were some fun reprints in the first set. I remeber enjoying the zombie one. I can't believe that Death Baron is almost as much as Shardless!

Most PC 2012 are within the $3-$6 range, but the most expensive are Maelstrom Wanderer, Ghostly Prison, Kor Spiritdancer, and Sakashima's Student (along with Agent) that are over $10. After that there is a lot of cards in the price range I listed earlier, but it would be good to drop the prices of some of these a little bit.

The decks that probably need the printing the most is the 5 color cascade, U/B, and G/W and R/G. I forgot what the other one is, but the R/G one doesn't need to be there, but the other three could certainly use it. The cascade one alone is worth $70 or more in value at the moment.

I can imagine them making a new cycle of straight 4 color commanders, probably new Nephalim, with the 2nd commander cycle being two color cost for play and abilities like original Khans, along with printing the original nephalim.

I am only hoping that the land base isn't terrible for these Each with a Reflecting Pool would be very nice.

I figure they will reprint the nephalim, but not make new legendary ones. The different commanders are always much more varied. I could see them doing FRF style legends, but I do want straight 4 color cost commanders too. I know that people say it's hard to figure out what 4 color means, but putting a shard and a clan together works as a way of thinking of a "card not being a color". A lot of the mechanics even play well together. I also thought you could have the flavor of two guilds teaming up. But a cycle tied to only one plane would be limiting again.

Mana bases might be an issue, but playing well against each other out of the box is the most important thing.

It's pretty exciting to have new options for themes and getting another color for tribal.

We do usually get two sets of new commanders, the main ones and the subset, so there would be room for both pure 4 color and with the Khans esque way of color identity. I think a new Nephalim cycle would be nice, but then again only as a callback to the only creatures that are like that, and to get those nephalim trible decks off the ground.

More artifacts makes my Daretti EDH quite happy. I do look forward to a plane that we haven't visited much, a nice breath of fresh air after how dreadful BFZ was and all that dead stuff in Innistrad.

Having all Planechase cards make me want to get this, but this shouldn't be $150. DD:Anthology was $100 with 8 decks and this has basically 5 decks (4 plus all the planechase cards). I have all of the 2012 plane cards, but I always wanted the rest of them.

No matter what though this should be $100, at most.

My personal favorite mechanic is Provoke, for some reason. I'm amazed it hasn't come back, considering how creature focused the game has become in the last 5 or 6 years.

As for the best ones, anything that has nothing to do with +1/+1 counters, although that could be because how many of those we've seen in recent years, but if I had to pick one specifically I would go with Flashback or Suspend.

Worst I would have to say Support. That was so bottom of the barrel in terms of mechanics, especially +1/+1 counter mechanics.

I've found a video that explains that the distribution and amount of EMA will be similar to MM1. What do you folks think about that?

If the information is real there isn't a reason to put so little product out when they know MM2 barely affected prices, at least on the cards that needed the prices dripped.

This kind of information was right there from the beginning:
    http://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/eternal-masters-announced

Since Wizard does not support Legacy that much anymore this set might be a one shot.

I was not aware of that. I can't imagine this being a one off, but I suppose only time will tell.

Oh, I was waiting for someone to grab the old info from the web and turn it into a video for his own profit.
Not to mention this guy is the single most toxic MtG youtuber on the planet. Bar none.

Finally, someone else says it. Thank you!

I strongly believe we'll see a Serra Planeswalker card in the future. Most likely on a suppelmental product, as she's long dead, but it's definetly on the table after the sucess of Commander 2014. We still need an enchantment centered Planeswalker and one that spams Angel tokens. Who better than Serra?

On a side note, Urza will probably get a card eventually. Probably our first 5 color Planeswalker

I could only hope Serra PW gets printed in a new Commander product, eventually, although 2015 didn't really have much in the way of characters we have seen before, besides Ezuri. More call backs to past characters were probably the best part of C14, Feldon is the most favorable card in all of Commander, I think.

Urza seems more 4 color than 5. Was he ever shown doing a lot with white mana, or any of the white characteristics?
