I'm wondering whether adding some landfall cards might benefit it. Mono-red is gone, I think, but Atarka Aggro could be a thing. Scythe Leopard and Makindi Sliderunner?
I have heard here in Australia LGS are being limited to the amount they will receive. My LGS owner said she was told the maximum she could order was 24.
In Khans, each clan was spread amongst three colours.
In Fate Reforged, it seems the clans are only spread amongst two allied colours based on spoilers so far (Abzan WG, Jeskai UW, Sultai BU, Mardu RB, Temur GR). The only cards with the non-allied colour spoiled so far are the Khans, and they have hybrid mana in the rules.
I'm thinking that, in Dragons of Tarkir, the clans will all be their base colour (Abzan W, Jeskai U, Sultai B, Mardu R and Temur G). Could this be why they ordered the mana symbols the way they did? They are taking away one colour per set?
I will be heading to Thailand in April 2015 and was wondering if there is much of a Magic scene there? I'd love to take a deck or two and play a game in another country
Chose red as the seeded pack, went with a red/blue deck. Inferno Fist x3 and Cone of Flame x2 were my MVPs. I went 4-0, and the only deck I had trouble with was another one running red (the only game I lost all day was against that deck).
I've been playing Magic since Revised, but somehow or other have never booster drafted until recently. I have been giving Vintage Masters a crack online, and after 4 drafts, have a dismal 4-11 record.
Now, in Constructed and Sealed Deck I am usually pretty decent; I would say I am an above average player, not great certainly but I win more than I lose. In fact, I'm known to be better in Sealed than in Constructed, and in the past 3 Sealed events I've attended I've gone 9-3. I have read articles on booster draft, and have tried to follow the rules for BREAD, and have tried to draft Vintage Masters archetypes, but with little success.
So I am asking for advice. I think my main problem is working out what to pick in pack 1. I usually follow BREAD in pack 1, but often find myself cut off from the colours I started drafting. Can anyone offer some tips or tricks for improving?
So, I have been going through some old cards recently, and seeing Plague Rats and the ilk got me thinking; would a Commander deck based around rats be viable? Who would you use as a Commander?
33, married, 2 kids. I manage to regularly top 8 locally, out of around 20 players. I even came in 2nd last time, but have not won yet. I only manage to play about once a month. Have played since 1995 and am seen as the 'veteran' of t he group here.
Thanks for that. I'd had a look through the infractions procedures and tournament rules and come to a similar conclusion, but thanks for confirming it. I'll let the store owner know. Thanks again!

Thoughts? Am I mad?
Some of the games went quite long, with one player going 1-0 in 3 of the 4 rounds. I played red/blue, and my matches seemed to fly by.
