How on earth can you be upset at a few words of information?
Consider some of the wackier mechanics/keywords of Magic. Now ask yourself if you'd thought they'd work/would be successful.
Pretty much everything I've said would work did end up working, and everything I said would be lame ended up being lame. The one thing I was wrong about was Equipment. I thought that was rediculous, and would never be accepted. I am glad to say I was wrong.
I just don't want Magic to become more like D&D, a game I despise. Class is going to move MtG a little further towards it. Plus, I have to deal with people making bad puns like "OMG Morningtide is classy!"
Agreed. I'm going to give Rosewater a lecture at Worlds in a couple weeks about how lame it really is. I bet he'll just smile politely and nod, but I will make it known to him that making a set based on class is amateurish and bush league. I was just about to start playing Standard (i.e. giving money to WotC instead of random ebay members) but I'm going to wait for two more years. Sad times, these are.
My Vintage deck is so janky. It has a lot of English foils in it, but my power is beat. It doesn't look right. But I need to finish getting WB power before I even think about buying BB power.
Anarky, I don't think the foils were the only reason I beat you. I saw a lot of unlucky draws on your side, but perhaps your deck was blinded too
I found it hilarious at how much broken English that scammer guy is using. He lives in Georgia, but his auctions sound like some of those ebay stores based in other countries.

I'm just curious as to what peoples oppinions are on signed cards. Personally I love them. When it comes to pimpness the order is
Signed Promo
Signed Foil
Signed
Beta
Promo
Foil
Black Bordered
white bordered
I have to disagree. The majority of promo cards I see at tournaments are FNM cards, and FNM's are almost always uglier than the non-FNM versions. I happen to think that split cards look better as FNM, but a lot of people don't even agree with that. I would say the true order is:
1. Foil Japanese
2. Foil foreign language other than Japanese
3. Foil English OR non-foil Japanese (tied due to apples and oranges)
4. Black bordered
Note that all the cards in the deck (or at least an overwhelming majority) have to be the same category to be truly pimp. Having a few cards be foil Japanese, a few cards be non-foil Russian, a few cards be German, etc, just looks tacky. Also, signed cards are only impressive if every single card in the deck is signed. Either track down every artist, or don't play any signed cards at all.
Uck, I just realised I'm going to need 4x foil 'Goyf... Time to stop eating and sell a kidney.
I got one foil Goyf from my teammate for my birthday, and I bought three more at GenCon when they were $40-$45 each. I had around two non-foil playsets to sell to justify buying three foils, so it wasn't a big deal. As a Threshold player, I realized Goyf's potential when I saw it on the spoiler and picked up a ton of them for almost nothing.
I really suggest selling some old cards you're not using in the MTGS Market Place, and using some of that money to ebay them. It's definitely worth the money. I throw them in my binder for pre-releases, and people just go nuts over them.
You guys get Legacy at Worlds. Isn't that enough? It is early in the 2008 calendar so maybe you guys will get something special.
Yes, because watching Raphael Levy play Legacy is the reason I play the format
I'm not invited to Worlds, so I get the pleasure of playing two Legacy side events at Worlds. I think the prize is an iPod Shuffle. Awesome!!
I do hope WotC gives us something besides Extended/Limited for a change. I was just starting to like Standard, and they start to stray from their bread and butter. Sometimes I just don't understand them.
As a Flash player, I'm sad to see people calling the deck jank. A properly built SB can pretty much let you win any matchup. Right now I have Reverent Silence to kill Leylines, Trygon Predator against Stax, a Winged Sliver against Goblins (it's not super awesome, but it's certainly better than nothing), and some Leylines of my own to stop Ichorid and opposing Flash decks. I even tested putting a Rorix in the SB to Flash for if my opponent plays a Fanatic, lol.
Anyways, Flash is okay, but I'm insanely lucky, so that helps too. I was just testing before I posted this, and I cast a Summoners Pact (even though I had a Hulk in hand), just so I could shuffle and cast Brainstorm. I was banking on Jesus putting a Flash on the top and he did. How lucky!
I was referring to the format of the GP's. Grand Prix Columbus posted almost a thousand people, and even though we're crying for another Legacy GP, WotC has yet to deliver. They're such a tease
I hear a rumor but i want to know if this is true .
in 2008 its gonna be a grand prix in cancun mexico?¿
thank you and sorry for my bad english
Hollywood and Cancun in the same year? WotC must think Magic players are playboys who party and womanize. The truth is, 95% of players spend their free time browsing 4chan and playing D&D. I don't think WotC would do something like that. I bet they choose cities based on the fact they have a cyber cafe near the site so the players can play World of Warcraft between rounds.

Not cool, bro.

That's not even true at all.

I'm just glad I didn't buy into it.

Yes, Elgins win at everything.

Bump

Dude, rules one and two
Anyways, I like it, but it looks like it's going to fall over. Is it balanced well?
