I've been wondering if these play exactly as I thought. Ward of Bones says that they can't play specific cards if they have more than me, however what happens if it is part of an effect such as a Primeval Titan, which puts into play the lands, does Ward of Bones check for that and negate the ability of putting lands into play (assuming conditions for Ward of Bones are all accounted for and they are locked out of additional lands).
Also due to the nature of this question, i was wondering if Grafdigger's Cage prevented Zur the Enchanter from being able to play enchantment, because I think that the zone in which the enchantment is in remains the library.
I've seen peopel with them, however the power level of some of the generals makes it so out of the commander pack you could not play things like V. Clique or Edric. Those were only allowed as a single in the the 99.
The constraints of a EDH cube is that to be as diverse as possible for flavor and mechanics the cube must be very large, or you risk pushing specific architypes way too much.
Felidar Soverign fits here, easiest way to win pillow fort is to amass a bulwark of tokens and pump them through anthem effects. Using white and blue in Zedruu, I don't see why you can't play in a competitive meta. Pick up a lot of the removal and counter staples like Sword to Plowshares, Hinder et. al, and you should be fine.
Edric should not be vulnerable to board wipe, since with the amount of green and blue tutor/mana ramp effects they should usually be able to hold up counter spell mana open.
For 1v1 Edric is king usually, cept for Clique and Norin.
Best multiplayer generals are anything! Your playstyle is the most important, the general usually is just a really nice addition to your 7 card hand.
Playing 4+ player games means that there is at least one person with a counter, people tend to rely on non-interactions with their combos and nonbos to force through a play.
The general meta is heavily concentric on their general, so flicker, tuck, clone effects are dominant because they are the most efficient at taking them out.
Niv tends to draw a lot of hate due to its obvious curiosity et. al combos.
Both are straight forward, and tend to get boring over a while.
Both use the same colors, so the obliterates and such, can be used, they accomplish the goal off good stuff.dec in red.
I suggest playing some sort of tri-color deck or changing your play style. or if you want to stay in the color combo....
How about trying a Tibor and Lumia tempo-control deck that tries to win using hard lock down. (Insert awesome win off a storm fed Wee Dragonauts). Or that new blue 2UU Talrand guy.
I've been lurking around quite a bit and been wondering about including playsets of thoughtseize and duress into a TPS hybrid deck ive been planning.
My question is whether it is slot effective to include both or have slight variation of the number of duress/thoughtseize like effects.
Since thoughtseize obviously more utility over duress.
should i go 4/4 or should do like a split of 3/4 or 4/2?
There are about 3-5 stifle effects (depending on who you ask) in the game. Since it's limited in blue and takes a slot in a decklist, people rather use that space on something more worthwhile. It's not a gem it's more of a nice to have but too narrow to use.

then you have Night Soil, or if you have a win con, Endless Swarm

Great boost for those toolbox decks
Red loves artifact recursion and either brings them back to play or into the hand eg. Goblin Welder
White usually has all the enchantment/artifact/land recursion has a fair amount of creature creature recursion to like Breath of Life
