Great. Ham Challenge day one and someone has to mention feminine nipples that produce Hennessey.

A clutch play of Vault of the Archangel turns games around very fast with enough tokens I have found.

Okay, I moved any and all pornography over to my back up external drive that I keep in a cold forgotten bookshelf in my room so I will officially start the ham challenge today.

To keep me busy I have started this weight lifting routine, thanks be to zemanjaski for the advice, to compliment my already rigorous martial arts and fitness training. It was actually a good thing that I did go to the Wellness Center today to do that too. One of the owners recognized my voice, they thought it was my Dad who works the IT department at the reservation hospital, and a long story short I might have a job there this summer or fall teaching the first official reservation self defense and martial arts program. Once more, thank you, Z. Grin

To further occupy these tools of the devil I call hands I am going to start writing again. I was going to write a number of short stories for Innistrad last year based on a card in each color for each set in the block but I gave up way too fast. I started three for Innistrad and almost completed one involving Champion of the Parish involved in some philosophical waxing message about humanity fighting the darkness or something. I need to go back and re-work it.

Though, after being this exhausted I have a feeling my rest day tomorrow is going to feel like crap. I haven't worked out with weights in years.

Any chance WB Aggro or Wb Tokens (or some mix inbetween) is playable? I feel like playing something different (I am making my once in two months visit to FNM :P). Admittedly, I will probably just end up playing Gruul, but still, it is nice to have options:

Lots of ways to go from there:
    ~ Sorin, Lord of Innistrad
    ~ Obzedat, Ghost Council
~ an engine built around Blood Arist
~ maindeck extort (Syndic of Tithes and/or Blind Obedience?)
    ~ more aggro humans

Going straight BW lets me go deep on either Guildgates (so I can play WW and BB easily) or Cavern of Souls; as well as 2-3 Vault of the Archangel. Without 8 anthems, the straight token theme seems a little weak.

I have had a lot of success with my W/B Aggro deck as of late. It helped that I pulled a Sorin, Lord of Innistrad this last trip up to Rapid City(after I stated I wouldn't buy anymore Dark Ascension I go and pull the Planeswalker...my friends were flabbergasted).

I have tried building it several ways and I have found a lot of success with building a block of tokens which act as the fodder to abuse one or multiple Blood Artists. I haven't been lucky enough to pull a Blind Obedience though. :/

The aggro humans approach works well enough in my experience but, I wouldn't count this meta as a good comparison for competitive play at all. As much as I like the people in my playgroup here they would never last at a FNM(half of them don't understand card value, mana base basics, or the fact that synergy counts for something and other half love playing with 65+ cards in their decks and enjoy making a deck on the spot to play with).

Well, if nothing else this last weekly tournament has proven Kuldotha Red still doesn't fail when there is at least one Kuldotha Rebirth played on turn one with the 0 cost artifact creatures. I am freaking the playgroup out here with the turn 3 - 4 wins. None of them played during Scars of Mirrodin so, all of these artifacts are disturbing the game around here.

    Ruy Lopez? Vomit.

Yeah, it was the reaction of my team mates and my chess coach as well in High School on the Chess Team but, I have a habit of sticking with the comfortable until the very end. It did get me to the first table at the Denver State Chess Tournament but, the moment I sat down for the final round an experienced player, a captain of her own team no less, shredded me in minutes.

We didn't even make the top five when all was said and done but, I was happy with making it to the first table. Normally, only captains and second board players make it there on the High School level in Colorado and I was normally third/fourth board. The main two reasons we fell behind so hard being our captain lost most of his matches to several of the other regional leaders and our second board man had this insane idea that going for a tie was always better than risking the end game o matter his position...when half the time he played well enough to match our captain. -_-

Any other chess players here? Got any favourite openings or players? They're amazingly reflective of personality and disposition.

I haven't played in years but, Ruy Lopez all day. I know it is painfully cliche but, I started with it and never really played anything else. Alas, I started playing Chess too late in life for my rating to be anywhere near decent. At one point I think I was close to 1600 but, I'm too far gone now to get back to that. I just like to analyze the game these days.

Is it wrong for me to want to play Thundermaw Hellkite in the main board all day long?

It is such a strong card. I know it is a rather situational dragon and does better probably lurking in the sideboard ready to answer clutch Lingering Soul plays by my opponent and other such flying mumbo-jumbo but, I just want to play him in all the games.

Aww, I missed out on helping craft a title.

I was going to throw the title Viceroy and Fire or Flame in the mix, but Seneschal sounds awesome.

References to Firefly. Spoilers are frowned upon.

    I'm still so sorry.

The transition into the clan wasn't a hard one though.

I think one would be hard pressed to find a group of friends on-line or in real life who don't vent about drama, talk freely about others, or make ***** related remarks or jokes once in a while. I mean, the current joke in our group revolves around numerous uses of the words, Girth, veiny, throbbing, glistening, and moist due to the inherent imagery. It makes for some very humorous moments especially when the girls in our play group just lose it after enough of the words are said especially when reference to the games being played.

You're right, just give us Price of Progress.

If only. I mean, the looks on opponent's faces alone would be worth it. I'd like to think the looks would be similar to the M12 days where one could Reverberate a Goblin Grenade on top of a sacrificed Arsonist on turn 3 for 11 damage for maximum trolling.

edit: Colonel, BADASS SIG, BRO!!! Sioux did some good work.

    Thank you. Smile

If anyone else ever wants one you can shoot me a PM about the request or lay out the details for the signature as you see fit.

Now to continue mulling about whether or not I want to take my current Boros sligh apart or continue with Mono-Red with a couple Hellion Crucibles on the mana curve. It is such a hard choice.

It was a Friday Night Magic and with a couple wins under my belt from the start I figured I would be able to run the night with no losses. I was very wrong. Everything was going alright until the last few rounds.

I was running a slightly Goblin heavy quasi-Kuldotha Red which was bringing me turn 4 wins most of the evening. Then comes the last few rounds with a reality check as board wipes were ripping me apart. So after my first loss in the last round, I decided to side board in two TukTuk the Explorer against this mean white control deck that was making it rain with a play set of Day of Judgment on top of landfall white creatures from Zendikar. Alas, he side boards in four Kor Firewalker and one Batterskull.

The match begins and I have to mulligan down to a five card hand. I only have a two land hand and that is usually good enough for Kuldotha Red but, I need one more mountain for the TukTuk the Explorers and to make use of a couple artifacts I had stupidly thought would save time for card draw. I don't get the extra mountain until four turns later after my opponent has already played a three Kor Firewalker, the Batterskull, and a Zendikar Angel. I lose like a very unlucky chump.

As cool as making and casting Myr can be it can also be a hazard in the long run.

Whoo, after the games we played tonight we traded up a storm. I now have complete play sets of Sacred Foundry, Boros Charm, and Truefire Paladin.

My RDW and or Boros deck is almost complete. I just need two more Pyreheart Wolf & three more Thundermaw Hellkite and life will be smooth not that it isn't but, it will make a complete sideboard and I'll have answers for most of my problems.
