being able to get rid of the only day bound card in my list while removing a DFC is win win.
Don't like that it is called malcolm but everything else is good.
Could not agree more. Shame about the Malcolm thing, but I'm incredibly excited to not have to remind everyone (and myself) what Daybound/Nightbound means every draft.
Conduit of Worlds can only be activated as a sorcery, so unfortunately no shenanigans on their turn. How does that impact your opinion and ranking of thecard?
Keep in mind that failing the doom blade test is a lot more literal given that all the Chupacabras and Hostage Takers and Oblivion Ring variants get blanked. It really is instant/sorcery removal and planeswalkers.
I think this is going to lead to some incredible stories, which is always a tiebreaker for me when a card like this is on the fence.
I'm a few sets behind on my updates. I run a 630 card powered list. Here's a list of the cards I'm about to buy. I'd be curious to know if any of the cards on this list looked great and have already been cut. Ob Nixilis, The Adversary's a good example. Folks were calling for his ban early in his standard run and now he seems to see 0 play.
SNC:
Ob Nixilis, the Adversary
Titan of Industry
Workshop Warchief (iffy)
All-Seeing Arbiter (iffy)
Inspiring Overseer (iffy)
It seems like folks keep ignoring Disfigure's additional flexibility in combat when comparing these cards together. I don't run disfigure anymore and I'm not sure this merits a slot for the sidegrade.
I think this is great. I have been running Good-Fortune Unicorn as a signpost tokens card (ps - don't do that - it's bad), but I really value the Selfless Spirit ability.
Edit: Actually, just noticing that his ability only protects tokens. Ew.
Step 1: doesn't do much. You're already paying 2 mana to cast a 2-mana spell for free. You're now locked into playing at that point as well instead of when the spell would be most advantageous.
Step 2: eh.
Step 3: Could be good. Could be a dud.
This is a card that doesn't even guarantee that it provides one card of value. Big ol' pass for me.
Do I think it's better than Stirring Wildwood? No. Will I probably replace it anyways because llama? Yeah, probably.
That is the closest this card is getting to the cube, however.
