Kaalia vs Nath vs Geth (in this turn order...)

Kaalia's controller had a solid start, turn 4 cheating out Iona, naming black. He also moved Lightning Greaves onto Iona, and cheated out Aegis Angel to protect Lightning Greaves. At this point, a solid alliance has formed between Nath and Geth (me). Nath's answers in the deck were Hurricane and Oblivion Stone; my answers in the deck were Nevinyrral's Disk and Oblivion Stone. I drew my Maze of Ith, so I was preventing 4-5 damage a turn to Nath's controller or me every turn.

Little did Kaalia's controller and I knew, Nath's controller had Hurricane in his hand, he was just waiting for eighth mana to hurricane for 7. Kaalia's controller then cast Demonic Tutor for Linvala to slow Nath down. Nath's controller's did draw into land, but Joraga Treespeaker no longer makes mana, which pushed him two turns back, luckily, his had Primeval Titan. Kaalia then top-decked into Debtor's Kneel, so now even Hurricane, doesn't save us, but Nath's controller cast it anyway, bringing himself to 1 life. With some insane miracle, I top-deck'ed Oblivion Stone and got rid of Debtor's Kneel before it can bring Iona back.

Nath's controller started building more and more board pressence: Sheoldred, Ezuri, other elves, and even a Liliana Vess 1.0. Kaalia's controller wanted to cast Wrath of God, but I realized that his mana base didn't have double white, so now we all know he's holding onto a board wipe. Nath's controller eventually used Liliana's ultimate to reanimate everything in gyard, including Iona, Linvala, Aegis Angel....etc. This time, Iona named white because we all knew about the Wrath of God. Just as Kaalia's controller was about to scoop, I cast Life's Finale. For all this time, I was depending myself with Maze of Ith + Deserted Temple, while hoping that Liliana would go ultimate, and it worked!

Kaalia's controller eventually Praetor's Grasp me for a Mimic Vat. And after that, he started hard casting angels and dragons. On my turn, I also Praetor's Grasp him for his Sorin Markov to ping him for 2, a long shot for another planeswalker ultimate. When Sorin was at 8 loyalty, it shrank back to 4 because of two angel/dragon attacks. I could only Maze one as I did not have my mana open for Deserted Temple. Since Kaalia's presence is building up again, I decided to let Nath's controller go to 10 life, bringing Sorin's loyalty to 1.

After Sorin died to more Kaalia attacks, I cast Raise from the Grave targeting Iona, naming black. Geth then came out, picking up Lightning Greaves, Eternal Witness, and a bunch of other stuff. At that point, no one had cards in hand, and Geth with the help of Iona pretty much had 50 different ways to win.

=) That's my story of Iona 3x under 3 diff players with Liliana ultimate going off. Crazy EDH...

  • posted a message on Box Mapping-- Mirrodin Besieged Edition
I just found this thread and used it to check against a box I opened a couple weeks ago:

    *** Left ***
    Glissa, the Traitor
    Spine of Ish Sah
    Titan Forge
    Massacre Wurm
    Phyrexian Crusader
    Phyrexian Vatmother
    Knowledge Pool
    Mitotic Manipulation
    Hero of Bladehold
    Phyrexian Revoker
    Shimmer Myr
    Slagstorm

    *** Middle ***
    Bonehoard
    Hellkite Igniter
    Shimmer Myr
    Red Sun's Zenith
    Knowledge Pool
    Phyrexian Hydra
    Magnetic Mine
    Sangromancer
    Decimator Web
    Green Sun's Zenith
    Inkmoth Nexus
    Black Sun's Zenith

    *** Right ***
    Thopter Assembly
    Phyrexian Rebirth
    Cryptoplasm
    Blue Sun's Zenith
    White Sun's Zenith
    Myr Turbine
    Spine of Ish Sah
    Titan Forge
    Myr Welder
    Hellkite Igniter
    Phyrexian Crusader
    Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas

So according to the map on page 14 and assuming Blue Sun's Zenith is M001 and Glissa is P001, my box looks like this:

    TOP

    Row 08: P072, P073; M004
    Row 12: P068, M116; P069
    Row 11: M117, M118; M120
    Row 10: P070, M121; M001
    Row 09: P071, M002; M003
    Row 07: P074, P075; M005
    Row 02: M012, P082; P083
    Row 06: P076, M006; M007
    Row 05: M008, P077; M009
    Row 04: P078, P079; M010
    Row 03: M011, P080; P081
    Row 01: M013, P084; M014

    BOTTOM

So my box was one of the ones with 2 disruptions Row 2 jumped to the 6th row and row 8 jumped to the top row.

What I didn't understand was how come M119:Victory Herald was skipped, See row 11.

Is the map wrong at that position?
