Not seen these 2 cards mentioned, both play really well in our shell anyone who has played Merfolk a lot know that the 2 main downfalls of the deck are squishy x/1's and card draw. 1/3 for 2 is unexciting but it makes a damn good blocker vs red and a damn fine attacker with Jace around. Early days in testing but things look good so far. Im going to stream a League with my new build 11am gmt tomorrow and see how it goes if anyone want to jump onn Twitch and lend a hand / discuss
I disagree Mimic has been great for me so far and the counters it provides in my Unblockable.dek plan have been invaluable. Rishkar and Verdurous Gearhulk and Vizier have all been very good too
Not for all the tea in china as far as im concerned, far too much power from vial and when half your game plan is sacrificing lands to deny them the vial is indispensable imo
Hi all I am just getting back in to Modern and after careful consideration and a budget in mind I decided to jump on board with D&T. I feel it offers a lot of reward for anyone able to put the time and effort in to learning it's many intricacies with seemingly unlimited ways to tweak and meta adjust.
Here I have my take on the deck which is currently mono white.
Also Included is a little record of my Game records through my first 15 matches so far in 3 Leagues, currently my win rate sits somewhere around 66% which I am happy with currently and hope to improve on with practice. Note that the only matchup so far I have played that felt really tough was Naya Zoo everything else has been really close despite a couple of 0-2 results
Yellow boxes indicate games won due to time or prizes won at negative value
Played so many variants of colossus and or Aetherflux combo now and you either build and have a good game v aggro or good v control, the deck just cant compete on all fronts imo, undoubtedly powerful when its not spinning its wheels but just not quite good enough
What about 4 desolation twin sideboard vs control, the cast trigger still gets you a 10/10 so long as you can stick an inspiring stauary you should go long enough to land at least 1 token and post side when they have taken out removal will be very hard to deal with
Been playing Aetherflux combo since day dot absolutely love it as it's a real blast to play and with the new Aether revolt cards we get a massive boost especially nice is reverse engineer imo this is the card that makes the decktick, here is my take on the combo, I replace Anticipate with Prism as it just does the same thing but adds to our improvise in exchange for the dig and in place of Crush I added a barals expertise and a second inspiring statuary along with third aetherflux reservoir, the sideboard is based on stock sideboards I have seen but I have opted to add several tinker targets for various match ups enjoy
Dropping the Delirium package did not end well. I feel that Delirium is intrinsic with the overall synergy of the deck, provides a very real end game alternative and it really is not hard to achieve and only becomes easier once you include Robo Dog. Speaking of Kaladesh cards, I really thought that Altered Ego fit well in to the gameplan and going forward the inclusion of Aether Hub or Botanical Sanctum will make there way in to the main deck to facilitate it's inclusion, Aether Hub is great with Eldrazi Displacer but without a secondary source of energy production it may mean I go with the latter although Attune with the Aether may be a worthy addition to facilitate it's inclusion. Going Forward as from tonight hopefully (Finally Kaladesh comes to MTGO) I will definitely be adding an Arborback Stomper to the list (Only 100% change from Kaladesh) in the main and possibly one in the side and I will also be trying out Fairgrounds Warden,Filgree Familiar and also Cataclysmic and Verdurous Gearhulk once I get a hold of each of them.
My current list: Added Reality Smasher 1 main 3 SB as an answer to Plainswalkers and to provide a clock vs Control
Tested the deck extensively it is not really a Evolution deck as such the card is literally only there as a value spell post sideboard it becomes a silver bullet finder but generally is mainly used to sac my mana fixers and grab the Thalias Lancers primarily. The deck functions a lot like a ramp deck with lots of recursion and a slight slant to controling the board, it has no single win condition but many angles of attack. I have been doing pretty well with the deck and most of my losses have come from sequencing mistakes, the deck is complicated to play.
Sorry btw I do sac Lancers to get Bruna but only after Gisela is hard cast obv, it really depends on the board state, I have sometimes sacrificed bruna, getting back a gisela only to seasons past bruna back, knowing the gisela would die and won the game more than once especially vs ur thermo.
In Testing I have only played vs last standard as im on modo hence no Kaladesh cards, BW is almost auto win, UR Thermo is easy especially after side, Weenie decks without Coco feel good but they can still go under sometimes vs Delirium and emerge strategies feel about 50/50, GB Delirium match feels solid. Cant really comment further until I get to test in the new format but I am feeling positive, I can only suggest you try it out on Xmage or Cockatrice and see for yourself the Synergy is bonkers in the deck and it feels great.
As for resultsI have went 3-2 many times in Friendly and Competitive leagues on modo never better as I always cant get there for coco it seems, which is still rampant online but like I said previous a lot of the losses I have had have been silly mistakes in sequence like casting a traverse before sacing an evolving wilds etc that lost me delirium or the like, instant speed reflector mages are a problem though
The Strategy is to get to Thalias Lancers from a 3 drop ideally on turn 4, then to use further evolutions to get Bruna which will in turn recur the Lancer and Tutor a further Legendary or if the game has went longer Gisela leading to Brisela but that is just Plan A, Plan B can often see the deck go long and the Evolution is used to fetch silver bullets, particulary after Sideboard and the Delirium side of the deck becomes a thing, Traverse is a 1 mana Tutor, Emrakul can be cast for 8 or 9 and Seasons past can restock our hands, Displacer acts as pseudo removal and blinking things like Lancers and Linvala or Pilgrims Eye is just value town.
