My first deck was an awful U/R deck that my friend built me for $10; this was around the time Odyssey had come out. It took me about a month to get my first win with it.
Amazingly, I never took the deck apart. I think I last played it two years ago in a casual game (which I won as no one focused on me). Here's the deck list:
I have a Rebecca Guay EDH deck and it can finally be completed for real. I had a few of her APAC plains, but that was it. The RG lands are the best thing about Commander 2016 for me.
I thought about making a Rebecca Guay deck, but it would pretty much be terrible. The only strategy I could devise was Asmira, Holy Avenger lifegain, where the wincons were things like FTV Serra Angel and Planeswalker's Favor. What about yours?
It's terrible, but beautiful.
My win-con is being no threat the whole game, getting ignored, and hoping to somehow sweep in at the end with a questionably good creature.

Honestly, everything by Terese Nielsen and Rebecca Guay. Hands down my two favorite artists who pieces I love.
Just a small handful of my favorite images by them.
Also, as a bonus:
Same! I actually have seven of their MTG prints in my home, and another non-MTG Guay print from the Kickstarter campaign she ran a while back. I also have a Rebecca Guay EDH deck...most beautiful deck I own!
It's got the same premise as these judges have: volunteers helping out to maintain and moderate a healthy community. It started with two guys and ended up turning into a class-action lawsuit which was settled for 15 mil.
Being a former judge, I am still in various groups related to it.
Every time there is an event that requires judges, it gets posted, along with what compensation the TO is offering to help with the event. This goes for events all the way up to GPs.
If you dont agree with what is offered, you dont apply
It really doesn't matter if the person agreed to it or not, labor laws still supersede those agreements. In particular, the laws exist to protect people who agree to things that might be unfair to them, whether they know it or not (which might be the case here).
I've noticed that Terese Nielsen hasn't done any art for a set since Journey into Nix, which means it's been six sets since she's done anything. At first, I figured she didn't fit the stylistic art that "Khans of Tarkir" went for. A case for her style not fitting into "Battle for Zendikar" can also be made, but her exclusion out of "Shadows over Innistrad" has me worried. She did a bunch of art for the first Innistrad block and her style still fits in this newest iteration.
I hope she isn't quietly going into the night like Rebecca Guay did. Nielsen's been a mainstay since the early days and I've always enjoyed her creativity and visually distinctive art. Hopefully this is a personal break or something.
It's not the biggest price tank ever, but if memory serves me correctly, Drinker of Sorrow was a very expensive card when it was first released. I remember opening a foil and having people swarm me to trade for it. People were comparing it to the next coming of Phyrexian Negator (which still had a very positive memory to it at the time). And then after a month or two, people realized it was garbage and it tanked big time.
Regarding Collected Company, is it something to unload or hold on to? I feel like it has even more potential in the future, possibly becoming a Modern staple. Thanks!!!
My MTG memory is fading, but I think it was competitive (at least certainly iconic): Morphling.
I don't think I've seen one cast in years, whether casually or otherwise. Opposition is another I feel like I haven't encountered in a long time, but I don't keep up with Legacy to know if it's still played there.
It takes a nice beating for the first two or three turns, but some tuned Aura decks did surprisingly well against Eldrazi at my shop. Again this is simply my meta and it's only one point of data, but the gist of it were creatures getting large enough quickly enough to keep up while totem armor kept them alive for more. Throw in white removal and it wasn't a bad day for Auras.
That said, Auras didn't do too well against other decks. But Eldrazi absolutely crushed most of the other decks.

Of their art, I believe Descendants' Path and Elvish Piper are my two favorites.

I think these judges have an argument.

edit: didn't realize this was a necro thread.
