I think the format should go back to Return to Ravnica. Control, Combo, Aggro, Midrange are all viable imo. If people are so worried about fetches especially with shocks then ban those. I dont think it really matters if the mana is good. Id say to go back to the core set before but I really dont wanna see thragtusk see any play.
At my local store I've gotten people interested in expanding it back to RTR block and it has been very fair so far. Aggro, Control, Midrange and Combo are all present. We decided not to include M13 because Thragtusk is cancer.
Well if this ends up playing a bunch of vehicles then speedway fanatic will be a easy replacement over valley dashes in lists that still play the card.
She's very good. I'd play both her and Koth in the deck for sure. In lots of situations you cast her the add 2 red mana and cast another creature/spell effectively making her a 2 drop as long as she doesn't get countered that is. extra card draw/consistant burn source is great just what the deck wants (like all the eidolon of the great revel effects).Killing a creature to get attackers through and a game ending ultimate.
The Commander got nerfed just by changing how mulligans work. I used to be able to mulligan down to 4-5 cards just fine and still combo off and win. Now the hands you get have too much variance, feels far less powerful.
Not sure where to post this but what if instead of banning Tasigur the rules could be modified where commander tax has to be paid for as an additional cost and not part of its casting cost and that delve would only affect it's printed casting cost but if he were to die you would have to pay 3 and delve 5 then pay 5 delve 5.
I played a Channel Fireball 1k last weekend and made top 8 with Fish. One card that really carried me most games was the 3 Back to Basics in the SB. I would just aim to play well and win game 1 then game 2 slam one of the BtB and not let them play magic anymore.
I disagree that the Minotaur Skullcleaver was a poor card. My pools were all fine and he almost always hit the opponent for 4 damage every time I played him. I did play Red every event and the more of them I got the better.
