Last night was the first time I played G/U this rotation. I used a build similar to prismatic elf's last posted decklist, tweaked slightly for my meta. I did not have time to create a build of my own. I went 2-2 and received some interesting comments. Apologies ahead of time, I'm still not familiar with most of the deck archetype names yet.
-vs RW aggro-
1 - He gets out a turn 3 and 4 Goblin Rabblemaster. I tap them for two turns with a flashed Boon Satyr + Icy Blast. He burns the Satyr and my mana dorks. I draw lands and mana dorks, he overwhelms with goblins.
2 - We trade little guys a couple of times. I'm able to get out the 2 Hornet Nest. He Chained to the Rocks one and uses Ride Down on the other. I never see a Mauler and he overwhelms me with a bunch of little guys.
0-1
-vs UW aggro-
1 - Favored Hoplite and a handful of Feat of Resistance and Gods Willing keep him hitting harder ever turn. I never see a Mauler and he pumps out a chump blocker or two every turn so I can't get through. A Wingmate Roc seals the deal.
2 - He gets a lot of heroic and prowess weenies out. I ping a few with a Polukranos. It gets Chained and I can't draw a Polymorphist's Jest or Icy Blast. He out races me.

-vs Jeskai Ascendency Combo-
1 - Kiora and Icefeather Avens keeps his Seeker of the Way locked down. I whittle him down before he can draw an ascendency. Prognostic Sphinx was key here.
2 - Sided in Negates and Dissolves. I dropped an elf on turn 1. Island on 2 and held off. Negated his turn 3 Ascendency. I morph out a turn 4 mauler. Swing with it next turn, he tries bounce it. He concedes when it unmorphs and he sees hexproof.

-vs Sultai Delve-
1 - We both get out mana dorks. I kill a few guys with Polukranos, he kills the Polukranos. I get out a Spinx, he whips a Hornet Queen from the graveyard. By this time he graveyard is FULL. After a huge Empty the Pits I concede.
2 - I get the perfect opening hand. T1 forest + elf. T2 island + elf + caryatid. T3 island + hard cast Sagu Mauler. He copies it with Clever Impersonator. I swing, they trade, I cast another. After a Kiora hits on the next turn, he concedes.
3 - Again, we get an army of mana dorks out. Disdainful Stroke stopped a Whip of Erebos. Negate stops his Empty the Pits. He gets a few hits in, but Polukranos takes out a few of his beaters. Thassa comes out and helps Polukranos punch through for the win.

-Thoughts- Icy Blast is useful in some situations, but 4 seemed to be too many. Cutting 2 in favor of some mainboard counterspells might help.
Cutting the Arbor Colossus for mainboard Prognostic Sphinxes was a mistake. Except for one game, the larger body with reach would have helped more than the flying and scry.
I never had the opportunity to use Polymorphist's Jest. When I had it, I didn't want it; When I wanted it, it was a no-show. I think upping the count and moving it to the sideboard would be better.
Kiora was always great whenever I drew her.
A few comments from other players. Either there isn't enough control or there isn't enough threats. The Mana Confluences could probably be replaced by basics without much fuss.
Also, No One expected Icewing Aven. Besides the bounce it was great as both a chump blocker and get a few points of damage in.
I feel I made a few minor misplays. But overall I enjoyed the controlling aspect while being able to apply pressure with Mauler.
Aww, so it's like the Untap step now? No more assigning combat damage then doing fun combos before it resolves. Oh well.

P.S. - I'm guessing someone has written an article somewhere about how the combat change affects strategies and effects (i.e. First Strike, Flanking, etc). Could someone point me in the right direction for somesuch?

what did i do for halloween? played World of Warcraft after playing a few grand melee games of MTG with friends. Proxied up All Hallow's Eve for a zombie deck... I lost.

meh, the same thing happens in WoW. I'll be free of it for a few days, then log on to check in with my guild... only to pry my fingers off the mouse 6 hours later, and only then because midterms are next period.

All the places I've visited so far are either very pricey or obviously bootleg.
I've thought about it...but I don't have a job or anything so I couldn't spend a lot of money. I've also thought about WoW but I don't know how much money it is a month...and I'd probably get easily addicted...and then never be here, like SOME people we know.
