Cabal Coffers is a massive no no. It takes four swamps to profit off of its activation. Since you're five colors, you'll likely not have many swamps. That would lead you to rely on Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth to profit. Urborg is fine because it fixes black for you, but unless you plan to run a ton of non-basic land search, leave the Coffers out.
I'm contemplating getting a Rottweiler. (relatively experienced dog owner, won't be a problem) I want to name him/her after a character from Magic Lore. I don't really have a good name for him/her other than a stereotypical HULK SMASH name like Kamahl or Zurgo. Doesn't really matter, it just raised a fun/silly question.
If you were to get a dog, what breed/gender would it be and which Magic Character would you name it after?
Would Eron The Relentless be a good name for a high energy dog?
I used Sage-Eye in a draft today. Went 2-1, got 2nd with Grixis Control. (Weird) The guy who got first showed me the power of Goblin Heelcutter
Round 1 Game 1. Playing against Abzan I'm already ahead, but opponent has an Abzan Ascendancy out. Bouncing the tokens created by Ascendancy was nice. It also kept Kin-Tree Warden OUT OF MY HOUSE.
Game 2. Board's close. Guy's built some advantage with a few outlasters. Bring Low one of them, swing and bounce the guy who gives first-strike. Now he's either blocking with the 5/4 battle priest or letting me through for 5 and hoping i can't just bounce it again next turn. He takes it. Next turn I kill the other blocker he drops and bounce the battle priest FTW.
Round 2 I never saw Sage Eye. This was the round I lost and holy crap was that dude's deck was fast. Temur MURDER AGGRO.
Round 3 Game 1. More Abzan stuff. He died to a Sandblast on his first swing. I had no instants for a response.
Game 3. He starts picking apart outlast stuff to the point that they're useless. I ride Sage-Eye to victory.
So yeah, I was a big fan of Sage-Eye Avengers. It wrecked Abzan and probably would've done the same to Mardu and Jeskai decks. His power is base 4, but Prowess helps out. Bouncing tokens is hilarious (GOBLINS). There were two or three plays were I used removal before combat on something to pump Sage Eye so he could bounce 4 power critters. HUGE swings. But he's slow. Opponents get to gameplan for him. Sage-Eye isn't spectacular. He's situational, and I can image times where he's "bounce a creature and die." There's probably 20 rares and mythics you'd rather have.
That said, I have an unhealthy love of Glacial Stalker, and Sage-Eye is a glacial stalker with Prowess.
I attack my friend with 2 creatures. One is a 2/2 on the ground and the second is a Hypnotic Specter. He blocks the 2/2 with a Solemn Simulacrum. He has 0 cards in hand at this point. Solemn dies and he is dealt damage by the hippy. How do the effects stack up? My effect (his discard) should hit the stack first and resolve after his draw trigger, right?
1. It's spelled Setessan Tactics. Could you fix your link?
2. I'm a fan of Tactics's ability to strive and it's instant speed. With strive you can really clear a board.
3. What's the largest base powered critter in deck?
Just downloaded Commander 2014 for Cockatrice. For some reason every card in my Savra deck registers as a token. I've deleted the deck and reOracled the database twice, but the entire decklist registers as a token. It's not just the Savra deck, cards from that deck show up as tokens in all other decks and in the search engine.
Playing Disenchant instead of Return to Dust is bringing a knife to a gunfight. Have you thought of running Castigate instead of Mesmeric Fiend? Kusari-Gama, I'm considering making my own Zurgo deck and I was considering that card. Thoughts? (My version would be removal lighter than yours).
mm I count ten cards that gain life, including your general. Several of them don't require mana. Perhaps you should capitalize on that with a shiny new Well of Lost Dreams.
First, an introduction.
A few months back I decided to build a mono-green EDH deck, because for some reason monogreen is the only color of the 27 combinations that I haven't built. (Weird). I took a look at the Decklist Database for some ideas on who I wanted. Oddly, Masumaro had no lists (Magnus Magicus decklists don't count). I thought, "Screw it, let's build one to see why nobody ever makes him."
Masumaro.........is actually really funny. Players tend to ignore until he's charging at them as an 18/18 trampler because they didn't read the card right and notice power and toughness is DOUBLE the cards in hand. He's usually a 2 shot kill, and because he's Green giving him evasion or trample is not an issue. Players tend to appreciate his novelty and the novelty of some of the cards in deck. Players don't know the power of the Heart Warden
Just to be clear, this is nowhere close to a competitive deck. A Mindslicer, tuck effect, or repeatable Fog will shut you down. This deck is fairly linear and easy to disrupt. This is the sorta deck you bring to an FNM to derp around with before the games start. That's fine with me. Sometimes I just want to do silly things with a chance of victory.
There are 3 main wincons: General Damage, Really fat beaters, and Psychosis Crawler damage. You can kill a whole board with a well timed Soul's Majesty. I wish there was a green Fling.
Discussion of Cards
Just some general notes on choices.
Mind Stone+Heart Warden Early game these function as ramp. Late game they let you draw, whether you want to draw for a bigger Masumaro, or just really need something.
Sylvan Scrying+Expedition Map Usually my first target is Cavern of Souls. There is only one other Spirit in the deck, but losing Masu to a counter (or tuck counter) really really hurts.
How prevalent are Theros Gods in your meta? If they are common and annoying *cough* *cough* Purphoros *cough* then I'd drop Vindicate, if not then you should probably drop Dust.
Also Gemhide Sliver.
This. If Sovereign isn't banned, then I don't understand why a harder to set up and easier to disrupt insta win would be banned.
Unless you find the ferocious ability particularly relevant (I don't), is this card much better than a Cultivate?
If you were to get a dog, what breed/gender would it be and which Magic Character would you name it after?
Would Eron The Relentless be a good name for a high energy dog?

Anybody know how to fix this?
Kusari-Gama, I'm considering making my own Zurgo deck and I was considering that card. Thoughts? (My version would be removal lighter than yours).
I second Library of Leng and Hunter's Prowess. Also, Anvil of Bogardan is worth a look if you find you need more hand maximizers.
I would agree with deegeebee's assessment of Venser's Journal IF you had more reanimator. Phyrexian Reclamation is so vastly underrated it's silly.
What is Praetor's Grasp doing in here?
Skeletal Scrying How's that working out for you? It seems counterproductive to have it and recursion.

Sword of Vengeance, Nylea, God of the Hunt, Loxodon Warhammer, Primal Rage, Gaea's Embrace, Rancor Having a 30/30 General chumped by 0/1 Eldrazi Spawn is infuriating. Masumaro can't afford to wait around and allow opponents to build better board states.
Hall of Gemstone Hates on multicolor decks. Hates on Counterspells. I don't do things on opponents' turns anyways.
Concordant Crossroads, Swiftfoot Boots, Hall of the Bandit Lord, Sword of Vengeance Masumaro needs haste. Casting him and waiting a full round can be dangerous. Bonus points to Boots for giving hexproof.
Prophetic Flamespeaker can function as pseudodraw. Stonehewer Giant will at least create advantage, so will Taj-Nar Swordsmith (Also a soldier!)
Karador has an Utter End to replace Beast Within, A promo Siege Rhiino to replace Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Sandsteppe Citadel.
Every black sacrifice/stax/recursion deck ever will get a Grim Haruspex.
Asking the community for advice or experience with similar decks.
Return to Dust is a champ.
