I've been a traditionalist Jund build proponent pretty much always (including during the development of Looting variations and Tracker variations [which I dislike greatly in comparison to either builds]) but I'm looking toward Looting builds currently due to recent metagame shift. They seem strong with the meta heading towards Leyline of the Void or bust. Leylines and Bob just don't don't play well together.

Leylines certainly are very attractive cards to run in the SB with the current meta. The don't go with Bob at all - too likely to die to his triggers. Looks like Looting Jund may be my next version to try out.

Well, after testing out Tracker Jund for a while I just not sold. My average win percentage dropped quite a bit and I found Tracker to either be great or very underwhelming depending on what I was paired against - exactly what I expect from a SB card. I missed Bob massively.

-I don’t give a crap about forcing my 60 down other people’s throats. But the whole crux of my argument is ‘drop bob and play tracker, trim Lili+creatures and play more spot removal/discard’, so yeah I am gonna be insistent as far as that’s concerned. You don’t have to listen to me, but that’s not me being closed-minded.

There's so much going on in just this line.

Then enlighten me ol' buddy ol' pal, since you're such an open minded genius, what's closed minded about saying 'bob is a bad card, tracker is a good card, and playing too many creatures and lilis leads to the wrong half problems everyone is complaining about'. Having an opinion is *not* being closed minded, totally writing off an idea before you've even tried it or given it serious thought is (hint, hint, hint).

I've been testing a little bit with Tracker Jund for a while now and, to be honest, I'm really not overly impressed with it. I feel that it wins all of the MUs we're already favored to win but I found it to be slower in the MUs where we need to be fast off the block and need that immediate CA Bob provides. I figured it'd dominate the Mirror but it doesn't due to cutting cards like BBE and Lilanas. Having to invest mana into Tracker affects the decks tempo quite a bit (and you can die before ever cracking a Clue if you end up on the back foot in a game). There are times where I found I needed to cast Tracker without having a land to play to gain any advantage. Other times where multiple turns go by without hitting a land (which is usually great but Bob would be infinitely better in these scenarios). Of course, I will continue to test it but I wanted to share my thoughts with you guys so far.

I imagine that they just felt like Grixis was still going to be too dominant even after DRS got banned. Probe doubling as both strong security and an engine in Pyro decks as well as making Cabal Therapy obnoxious (and with the free spaces opened up likely would have bolstered Therapies appeal).

I think the decision WotC made to ban these cards in Legacy speaks volumes as to whether or not we'll see Probe or DRS back in Modern. It ain't gonna happen.

The whole point in Modern being a format was for WotC to provide players with a non-rotating format that wasn't hampered by the Reserve list. Printing staples (and playable cards that have obscene price tags due to scarcity) is mandatory for the health of the format. Going back to the Core set is a great plan, imo. Hopefully, Modern benefits a lot from this move.

With the recent Tron hate printed I can see them waiting on banning anything from Tron, myself. I don't see them risking an unbanning either to be honest. I feel like it'll be "no changes".

Man if the new Sarkhan PW could use the mana on any spell, it might be an interesting card I think.

Yeah, the "dragon" restriction sucks. I got really excited for a second when I saw it spoiled; right up until I read that second ability.

I don't think anyone is calling Tracker bad per se (in the right MUs Tracker is awesome). Also, we all agree, it is true that Bob is bad against a lot of MUs it's just that against those MUs Tracker is just as bad - arguably worse in a lot of cases as Bob can chump/trade buying you a turn. For example, on the draw, against Aggro, you will likely be dead to a decent hand before Tracker can even be cast for value.

Additionally, Tracker dies to almost as many removal spells as Bob so suggesting that somehow Bob is more likely to die than Tracker is wrong.

It's an interesting list you posted above but I'd argue that Flayer actually takes on the role of Bob to fuel out an early Tasigur - so turning virtual CA into Tempo advantage.

Well done on the wins but I couldn't run the deck without any Bobs in my list, he's just too good (even when he's not at his strongest). Tracker is a solid SB card to me but I can't see him taking the place of Bob maindeck for me anytime soon - well, the meta would have to change a lot for that to happen. Tracker is inevitable but is slow and requires considerable mana investment. Confidant starts churning out card advantage from the turn after it lands while also allowing us to still progress the game by allowing us to utilize our mana for disrupting our opponent, removing a threat and/or progressing our board state.

    Oh Modern.

I love random cards and weird decks but I'm usually the one getting other people but boy did I get got today. Never heard of Tallow Wisp before and the instantly tutoring up Spell Queller was quite the suprise.

Ah, inovation. Sometimes, you taste like salt. Even to me.

Am I missing something? From my understanding Tallowisp can only tutor up Auras.

Where are people on Jeff Hoolglands Tracked Jund list dropping Dark Confidants for Tireless Trackers. What are the main advantages/disadvantages? and peoples' findings.

I don't hate Spellbombs in the MU, nothing better than halting them from comboing off or beating down with 2/2s.

I think Fulminator is a fantastic choice to have now, since its also really good against all Celestial Colonnade based control decks, which are prevalent in modern right now. The fact that it helps against our bad popular matchup of Tron is a solid reason to run Fulminator. In that sense, I am with Reid Duke here, which always had a good opinion about Fulminator.

Like you, I wouldn't be caught running less than 3 myself but I can understand the point Caleb was making.

Leh; any info or explanation for the deck and the choices made?

I'll try and find the stream. I only really remember him saying he wasn't gonna bother with LD like Fulminatior as those MUs are just awful anyway and he figured it was best for him just to concentrate on securing up other MUs instead.
