I would imagine she means we have end games as fast as we can; we have no wiggle room in matchups - mind you, I can't think of a time we ever did. I certainly feel that we're in a spot, more than ever, where we need to find the right half of our deck or we lose. Also, I don't feel comfortable without 3 sweepers (or 2 sweepers and a Lavaman) in our 75. I'm still not a fan of the keep in discard plan in the mirror and I've not lost a single mirror match where my opponent keeps in any so far - so take that as what you will.

So 2 Bob Jund got there, I won the event with the above list -2 Dark Confidant, +1 BBE and +1 Ooze. I was able to borrow the second bob from a friend.

All in all I much prefer Jund over abzan so I think I will be sticking with it for a while. In my meta there are multiple Mardu Pyro, Elves and Humans decks so I would like to run 3 board wipes although I haven't seen many decks running that many, is it too counterproductive with also running that many creatures? If so what third wipe should it be?

If you're wanting another Board wipe Engineered Explosives seems pretty dope with your metagame.

I've really been enjoying playing Jund recently. My metagame is full of Midrange, D&T and Tempo decks. I played Grixis Delver, Dragon Stompy, Miracles, Elves, Lands, Infect and Show and Tell - with my only loss was to Show and Tell. We're in an okay position, I feel.

Just to be sure, but on the sideboard guids sometimes at “board out” it says (max 1-2) does that mean, board out a max number of 1 or 2 or make sure u still have 1-2 in your mainboard? Its probably the first, just making sure.

Also when will there be added new matchups? Because last tournament it really gave me an edge because I struggle with sideboarding on the fly.

Id like to see matchups like elves, differnt death and taxes decks, bant company, kci, bant knightfall

I read it as maximum to take out 1-2.

I've heard the statistic that Tron is a 50/50 MU for us but I've never found that to be true. I think I don't know how best to play against the deck more than likely (something I feel I struggle with against Affinity a bit too). There is an analysis of 28,000 online games which suggests that Jund vs Tron MU is around 40/60 in favor of Tron which seem more accurate to me - although this is data retrieved from Twin era. I've just always found Valakut to be an easier MU as the game is often over turn 3 against Tron - if not then we stand a fighting chance. To be fair though, I find RG Eldrazi worse than both.

I always find Valakut to be our worst possible matchup, with Tron being second worst. Living End is also very high on the list, but in theory we can hate the deck out if we want.

Tron is miles worse for me. Valakut has the inevitability and is an awful MU but Tron is so much worse for me. I find it's so much easier to race against Valakut. Having said that, I almost always find myself against a turn 1 Relic and/or natural turn 3 Tron - like f*****g always. Early discard, LotV and a threat(s) is all you need to reliably win against them - in my experience, that's not close to enough to beat Tron.

Damping Sphere is a hell of a SB card against Tron though and has made the MU a lot more manageable (so, I guess, Valakut probably is worse now - I'm still finding Fulminator is a necessary evil though (against Tron, the Mirror and Control, etc.) - I'm running a 2/2 split, currently.

Has anyone tried out: Torgaar, Famine Incarnate it seems like he might have some potential in the deck. He's a sacrifice outlet that can belt an opponent with lifeloss or bring us back into a game where we're being beaten hard by every player.

I don't like 4 Ravines in his manabase though. The games really show its light on black mana. With 24 lands and 4 of them being Ravine, 2 being Forest and 1 being Stomping Ground, there aren't enough black sources (only 17). I would really cut the fourth ravine and add another black source for it.

You're probably right, however, I've been playing a similar 24 land manabase for over a month (4 Manlands and 4 Basics) and I haven't run into any problems with it yet, to be fair - the match Reid played against that Control player where he drew all of his Ravines and a Forest with a hand of black cards was just insanely bad luck.

Cards I bring in for Hollow One are Spellbombs (2x for me), Anger (2x for me), Obstinate Baloth (1x for me) and Grudges (2x for me) . From what I've seen, Reid sides out Seizes but I find them amazing in the MU myself - I run a 3/3 split with IoK main. I find Inquisition very mediocre - it can pull its weight early IF you hit their drawing spells but if you don't you're generally forced into helping them by discarding one of their recurring creatures. Thoughtseize, on the other hand, can pluck Anglers, Hollow Ones or their spells. I personally don't side out all my LotV - I can see why people do but early game she's a card I don't mind discarding to their Inquiry but after Anger or stabalizing the board and/or blocking with Tarmo and/or exiling stuff with Ooze she keeps their hand remaining low so they can't overwhelm us again and has on many occasions taken out Hollow Ones and Angles for me. The cards I tend to side out are: Abrupt Decay (1 for me - it's generally awful), Inquisition (3 for me - I don't find it good personally), Push (1-2 for me - usually keeping in 1-2 - it's not great as everything it hits recurs but with an active LotV and/or Ooze it's a great way to snag a bigger threat or get rid of an annoying creature), 1-2 BBE and 1-2 LotV. I will generally bring in: 1 Finks, 1 Baloth, 1 Hazoret, 2 Spellbomb, 2 Angers, 2 Grudge.

I don't find the MU too much of an issue myself - I'm a fraction little better than 50/50 in testing with it (although notably I'm under 30 games against it). The hands where they go off early and you can't stabilize happen but, generally, it's honestly not been too much of an issue for me personally.

Against Hollow One my real MVP was always Scooze, i like him even more than goyf, he just does evrything.

I would leave in 1-2 LotV, because otherwise we may not have enough removal for angler, but i would trim a dark confidant or a bbe (not completly sure yet) and probaly decay.

I actually quite like LotV against them considering we have cards that can keep their deck in check. Grave hate, Anger and a big threat is key to winning. I find Liliana is useful for keeping their hand low after their initial wave of blurting out their hand making the chance of them overwhelming us a second time highly unlikely (providing we can keep their initial blitz under control of course). I'm generally more of a fan of Liliana than Inquisitions game 2-3, personally. A combination of Angers, Grudges and grave hate have worked fine for me. Lilianas have taken their fair share of Hollow Ones and Anglers after I've swept those pesky recurring creatures with Anger.

So far there hasn't been anything that I've thought is a shoe in for Meren. The set looks sweet from a nostalgic point of view and the Art of the cards is spot on for my taste but so far no good Meren tech IMO.

Agreed. I wish Demonlord Belzenlok put cards into our graveyard instead of exiling them. I think Thallid Soothsayer is worse than other options we have access to but seems borderline worth testing.

I bring Grudges in, they're a solid answer to multiple Hollow Ones which allows us to save our hard removal for Anglers. Anger is great for dealing with those annoying recurring creatures too - I'm running 2 currently. A resolved Anger usually makes LotV great too. I've not had too many issues against the deck to be fair. They either seem to win early or we catch up and capitalize on their late game fragility.

@LEH Did you have some experience specifically against aggro decks like Affinity, Humans or Burn with this configuration yet?

I've had a fair amount with Humans and Burn (Humans has been very much 50/50 for me and Burn has been very favorable). I've not found that the manabase has hindered these MUs any - although it's only a small sample size and I can't think I've had any awkward hands against these MUs.

I'm one of those weird Jund players that have always struggled against Affinity - on the flipside, I generally find the MUs people have issues with favorable or fine. I pack plenty of hate but I either never seem to find it or they seem to draw perfectly. I'm only slightly under 50/50 against Affinity but I'm always reading here how easy a MU it is for us which is far from my experience, I usually seem to find it an uphill battle. I recall a game where I was stuck on 2 lands against them for a number of turns but I believe I actually won that game as I had a hand full of answers and threats and they kept on coming.

I've been running the 4th Manland in a 24 land build for quite a while now (since well before it was mentioned here even) and it's not awful. There has been one time where it held me back due to my initial starting hand being fine but slow and clunky (1 Treetop 1 Ravine and 1 Twilight Mire) and another time where I kept drawing my green sources and no black sauces after mulliganning to 5 already. All in all though, I've not found it any worse than when running 5 Manlands in a 25 land build, myself.
