22 Land and 4 Smallpox is a bad idea.

You should check out the Zombies section in Developing Competitive. You're running monoblack Zombies w/Smallpox.

I don't think smallpox is ever really a good idea. Your gonna need your lands and with the small number of creatures you have you would probably end up having to sacrifice an Obliterator.

If you have any card from past sets that have been reprinted in a standard legal set than yes you can use said card. On to business. I'm not quite sure how a 4 color Infect is gonna work. I've seen 2 color infect but never more than 3. I think the inconsistency of this deck will out weigh the usefulness. I think it needs to be refined down to 2 colors at the most. I've seen many Black Green infect decks that were for the most part successful. The only reason I would give blue a good option as a good infect color is Blighted Agent. Other than him there really is no good reason to run blue. Green-Blue can work under circumstances but generally Mono Black or Black-Green is the way to go. Black for obvious reasons and green mainly for Mutagenic Growth. This card will win you more infect games than probably any other card in the block. Glistener Elf is okay as a starting creature as well. If your going to run Green those are the cards that you need. Black is where the serious powerhouse cards are. Phyrexian Crusader is a beast, to say the least. He is probably the hardest infect card to get off the board. First Strike + Infect is almost as good as First Strike + Deathouch. I would suggest trying Mono Black and using Mutagenic Growth and just pay the 2 life. It keep you from getting type screwed and will keep your deck more consistent. Which is exactly what you need in infect.
    Good luck!

Mortorpod is pretty cheap and re-useable, plus it pings for an extra 1

Case closed, PLUS it can make your creature a tad more durable. All in all that could be a deadly combo.

I also play Zombiez, but in casual though. I think Blue has some insane Zombies but is dreadfully slow. Gravecrawler is about enough of a reason to want black in a zombie deck. If you can mill a few of them out with some of your blue Skaabs then play them up you will probably outnumber your opponent fairly quickly. Undying Evil is another ridiculous reason to run Black. Diregraf Captain is another great choice and works well with undying creatures due to the fact that you can keep shocking your opponent for one damage whenever a creature leaves play. Diregraf Ghoul is another faster option to get some resistance out on the board. Some removal would definitely not hurt one bit. Maybe a Dismember or 2. Go for the Throat would also work.

If you're using red and Zombies, Gravecrawler + Burning Vengeance = 2 damage if you don't block it, 2 damage if you do.

To work with the Burning Vengeance...
You could use Shimmering Grotto and be able to sideboard Ancient Grudge.
Bump in the Night becomes evermore potent.
Deadly Allure can be good removal, and lets face it, who cares if Gravecrawler is blocked.
Faithless Looting would be able to stay.
    Geistflame is great removal.
Rolling Temblor can be moved in from the sideboard to deal with pesky Humans.

Here's what my Burning Zombies would look like...

I totally agree with this deck-list. I think this is an awesome idea and could probably work because the Gravecrawler and Burning Vengeance is completely sick. Maybe there would be a way for you to destroy Gravecrawler yourself so you can bring him back a bunch of times per turn. If all else fails you could most definitely drop red and add blue. Innistrad blue black zombies look very powerful with things like Skaab Ruinator.
    Good luck!

Looks like a solid idea but I feel like this might be prone to getting beef'd by decks with sheer speed in the first 2 or 3 turns. Yes Despise (if you get it in your starting hand) will knock out one creature (or Planeswalker) but that's only one. And the quick removal can get rid of some of their more annoying things but not all. I would try to find a mainboard place for Dismember or even Black Sun Zenith or even Marrow shards as a sideboard card to combat early game threats. late game your Obliterators will destroy them if they can't deal with it. There is a black card whose name escapes me at the moment that gives a creature undying for a turn for 1 mana or something like that. You might want to look into that for some Obliterator protection should anything go wrong. He will also come back with a +1/+1 counter on him which will make him even stronger when hes back.

I don't think other infect decks typically run Gitaxian Probe so much... Or Sword of Body and Mind. Or Piston Sledge. I'd see what you could do about getting your hands on a few copies of Skithryx, or more Hand of the Praetors. Also, you'll need more than just Marrow Shards in your sideboard. Conisder maindeck Tezzeret's Gambit.

Indeed! My sideboard isn't of concern to me right now, ill work on that when the time comes. As for Gitaxian Probe, it kind of works well with my equipments to see if anyone can beef them before I get to attack. It looked like a solid plan, I'll defiantly test before I play at FNM. The sword is for my Crusader, with him holding that he has protection from every color but black. That would be a devastating game changer. The wolves can chump block if the need arises. I really need some Skittles (aka: Skithryx) but they are expensive as hell. I'd rather trade for them seeing as I have some pretty valuable stuff, it shouldn't be that hard. I would like to run 2 of them. Other then that what do you think of Flensermite? I like him but I don't know how good he is in Standard.

I am currently planning on running a Mono Black Infect deck to play at FNM in the coming weeks. My current deck-list is as follows:

    Swampx23
    Creatures:
    Flensermitex2
    Plague Stingerx4
    Ichorclaw Myrx4
    Whispering Specterx3
The big bad MoFo himselfPhyrexian Crusaderx4
    Hand of the Praetorsx1
    Other Spells:
    Mutagenic Growthx4
    Gitaxian Probex2
    Piston Sledgex4
    Despisex4
    Virulent Woundx4
    Dismemberx3
    Go for the Throatx1
    Sword of Body and Mindx1
    Livewire Lashx1
    Sideboard:
    Marrow Shardsx2

I know the list is a little over 60 cards, some help on what to cut out would be awesome! My reason behind the Gitaxian Probes are basically for making sure that my opponent can't counter me when I go for my finishing blow, the card draw is a bonus. I saw a few other Infect decks do this and it looked like a good idea. I don't know how effective Flensermites are. A 1/1 with Lifelink and Infect for two didn't seem like a bad deal but I feel like it might be taking up some valuable card slots. The other removal spells are pretty straight forward. Livewire Lash is something I saw in some other infect decks that worked in synergy with Mutagenic Growth. Attack, target my own creature with the buff and poison them 2 and then they have to deal with the combat damage.
Ive never played at FNM before but I've seen the meta that my local store has. It seems like this would be good against a lot of decks because Phyrexian Crusader will not die to Weenie decks OR Red deck wins. Even Pod might have a hard time dealing with this depending on colors.

    Any help will be appreciated!

I am looking for a standard deck to play at my local FNM. I went for the first time today to watch my friend play and I now want to try it. I am very familiar with casual play but have no experience in the standard realm. Naya Pod struck my attention because I have most of the expensive cards that would run in it: Ensh Norn, Wurmcoil, ect. But I question the constancy of Pod. Does it work well a lot? Is it fast enough to win against most decks? I wouldn't want to drop more than $60 dollars to start out with this deck and I would later progress to get better stuff. I am open to suggestion on other decks as well!
    Thanks!

You will definitely want some mana ramp if you are planning to build around 6-7 mana creatures. I second Gloomstrafe's recommendation of Sakura-Tribe Elder since he is both an excellent ramp spell and works nicely with Sheoldred. You might want to try Yavimaya Elder as well. Shriekmaw works well with Sheoldred too and can supplement your Putrefy/Pulse removal package.

Awesome, mana ramp is good. What about some other larger creatures? I am also worried that is I make this deck it won't pack a hard enough punch when I get some big guys out. I may just be being paranoid. Would having small creatures like Royal Assassin help? Or even some small(er) creatures that could maybe knock their life total down a little before I get my big hitters? I'm working with little to no inspiration because I've never seen a good black green deck.

I warn you... Zombie decks are great decks if you don't plan on changing them up too much in the future. I had one and it worked good, but none of the sets that came out really printed new zombies. That's the problem with most type decks (Except Goblins). The beast deck is going to be a lot more versatile when new sets come out. I usually try and stay away from type decks as much as possible. Although I could not resist making a Black/Green Infect deck. They are just too much fun... I would also recommend staying away from Alara decks (Jund, Esper, Naya, Bant and Gryxis) I don't really see wizards re-printing any multi-colored cards in mass anytime soon.

My personal favourite black-green deck is based around oversold cemetery, but it is really just an incredibly versatile colour combo. I had a friend that starting out just made a green fatty deck with black removal and it worked pretty well.

Thats a great idea. Ill be sure to get one or 2 of them. Creatures are my main concern though. I am trying to base the deck around Sheoldred, Whispering One, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger and Dread. Now I just need some filler creatures that will work well. I was thinking about 4 Royal Assassins for the begging of the game.

Sounds good so far. Although I was planning on a little higher of a mana curve than most aggro decks. Mana ramp is somehting that I might experiment with in the deck but basically I want to push out big, powerful creatures with good effects (Sheoldred, Whispering One) as fast as possible. and use Putrefy and Maelstrom Pulse as removal. Those are the cards I'm sure of. The rest I am not entirely sure of.
