I never damage any of my cards, and I always riffle shuffle. The only reason I would consider any of my cards NM over Mint is because I"m sure there's some almost unseen blemish due to playing with them for awhile. I'm very anal about the condition of my cards. It is easily possible to consistently riffle shuffle and not damage anything.
I'm thinking of adding Norn's Annex to my U/W deck and I wanted to check on something.
If I have two copies of Norn's Annex on the battlefield, do they have to pay the Phyrexian White for all attacking creatures for both, or would they just need to pay for one to satisfy the stipulation of the card?
So if Eric made my Venser into Iron Man, that would more than likely be acceptable I'm assuming? Obviously bring a spare in case, but I probably wouldn't have much to worry about right?
Are you allowed to use Full Arts without oracle text in PTQs? I have a Venser that has been signed and altered by Eric Deschamps, would that be PTQ legal?
Sorry, card for card shuffling is a term my friends and I use for a regular shuffle. Basically, shuffling a deck the way you would a poker deck, on the corners and as close to card for card mix as possible.
EDIT: Good to know, thanks for the heads up on the appropriate terminology
You're allowed to pile shuffle, slide shuffle, etc. However, in doing these, you HAVE to card for card shuffle last, and I believe it has to be done at least 3 times? Also, once you get to higher level tournaments, there is a limited amount of time given for things like shuffling/sideboarding/etc.
EDIT: I was under the impression that at PTQ's you had to card for card shuffle?
I don't believe it does. AA becomes a goblin as it enters the battlefield, Door of Destinies specifically states that it has to be that creature type when it is being cast, not as it enters the battlefield. I'm sure a judge on here will correct me if I'm wrong though
I may be wrong, but I don't think the last 2 examples are correct Napoleon. Spellskite specifically states spell or ability. Therefore, if it is targeted by arc trail, it can't redirect the 1 damage as it has already been targeted by that spell. Same goes for seeds of strength. Even though the spell has 3 seperate targetings, it's the spell itself that is doing the targeting. If you were able to do those, then it would be legal to redirect the seperate targets from Inferno Titan.
EDIT: I knew Magic was complex, but wow is it more in depth than I ever thought it was, lol.
If I'm understanding azngenius correctly, this is how it would play out.
1) The spellskite would be able to redirect one damage to itself, but the other 2 1/1's would take lethal damage.
2) The spellskite has already been targeted and therefore cannot redirect the other two targetings done by the titan. The other 2 1/1s would take lethal damage.
3) The spellskite has already been targeted and cannot redirect the other two targetings done by the titan. You would still take 1 damage and your 1/1 would take lethal damage.
I could be wrong, but I think that is correct. Viper or Azn will let you know, lol.
My friends are having a debate on this topic as we speak.
Friend A uses his Tezzeret to target Sword of Feast and Famine. He believes that the card becomes a 5/5 creature with all of Feast and Famine's abilities. Friend B says this is incorrect, he becomes a 5/5 artifact creature with all it's abilities removed. I say it becomes a 5/5 artifact creature with no abilities specific to the creature, but that Friend A can still pay 2 to equip the card to a creature.
At this point, Friend A tries to equip it to itself. Friend B says this can't happen because it has no abilities whatsoever and is a 5/5 creature. I say this can't happen because whenever Friend A pays the 2 to equip, it loses it's 5/5 creature status.
They're making the assumption that I"m correct on all statements. Am I correct? Also, if I am correct, would the sword revert back to being a 5/5 creature if it becomes unequipped?
I didn't realize that the Spellskite couldn't redirect all 3 targetings. How would this work out?
Someone targets my Venser with their Hex Parasite. I use spellskite to redirect it. He then uses his other Hex parasite to target Venser, could I use spellskite to redirect that targeting as well?
Okay Viper, it's making a little more sense. The one thing that's still tripping me up though is that they enter simultaneously. However, your next statement says "since the other Mountain is already on the battlefield". It wouldn't already be on the battlefield though if the new ones aren't considered in the check, or is it precisely the fact that two are hitting the field that negates the check? I think I'm confusing myself more as I try to work it out, lol.
Okay, i gotcha now. Thanks VIper...that sucks, but thanks, lol.
