Edit: I see now this is the second thread about this card. That explains a lot.

I don't think it has a home right now, naturally, but I can't wait to see where it ends up. This seems like it could be really good.

I'm curious to know where people have gotten the information that some of the Eldrazi Titans have managed to leave Zendikar (except who, Ulamog?). Not that I'm arguing it, I just like to keep up-to-date on lore and I can't find that information anywhere.

All I needed to see to be interested was the PS4 symbol at the end. I can't express how stoked I am about that after the PS line got ignored for Duels 2015, even if it wasn't the best game of the series.

Unless we're speccing for Magic Origins, there's no reason to believe allied painlands will be in DTK. The reason for this being, of course, that some of the lands name specific locations. Brushland, Sulfurous Springs, and Underground River are generic enough, but Adarkar Wastes and Karplusan Forest are very much not.

Enemy fetches are a different story, and there's plenty of potential on either side of that debate. We'll probably find out by mid-week next week whether they're there or not. Seems like something Wizards would want to tell us to get us foaming at the mouth.

There is an awful lot of scry, yeah. I suppose Fleecemane doesn't seem as important to me since any Abzan deck in my area is more likely to be midrange than aggro, but I see your reasoning.

I'm moving towards a different U/W list that is splashing red exclusively for Lightning Strike. This changes the deck drastically, but it still operates on similar terms in that Elspeth is the primary finisher. I'm using Soulfire Grand Master as a secondary game lock agaist midrange, and it's proven to be quite effective both early and late game. A two drop that has this effect for control hasn't been seen since Snapcaster Mage and I'm really excited to use it and test more with it.

Here's my list I'll be taking to a PTQ on February 14:

Some notable differences I'm sure some will disagree on:

-No Pearl Lake Ancient main deck
I feel like I want the best game 1 deck against all of the field, so I chose the most non-restrictive cards possible to be in the main deck, while accepting that specific counterspells and board sweepers were needed. Pearl Lake Ancient is atrocious against R/W Midrange and Abzan aggro, it's really just there against a very low representative of control decks. Soulfire Grand Master has the ability to lock out games, gain us life and be a threat early, mid or late game.

    -4x Reality Shift Mainboard
This card is 100% needed now IMO with the presence of Rakshasa Deathdealer, Fleecemane Lion, Stormbreath Dragon, Ashcloud Phoenix and Goblin Rabblemaster. Last breath simply does not do the job required, and more often than not, a vanilla 2/2 is not going to make or break a game.

These are the basics, but I encourage everyone to at least test Soulfire Grand Master as the cards feels powerful as hell. I'll try and keep a full tournament record of my matches with as much detail as possible and report back.

Hey guys, long time reader, first time poster. I really like your list, SuperSeed, but I'm curious why you're running Lightning Strike over Magma Jet. From what I can see, there's really not much difference between 2 and 3 toughness right now (with the exception of Fleecemane Lion and Sidisi, Brood Tyrant), and the Scry 2 seems useful.

Man another awsome usa only buy. Frown

Said two comments after someone saying they found it in Newfoundland, Canada. I think you mean "another awesome North America only buy". I don't think many Canadians would appreciate being lumped in with us 'Muricans.

Where do they put these? Near the Magic cards?

That's where I found the couple bundle packs my store had, yes.

gotta ask with concern to those like myself, but im assuming i know the answer. Were there any sizes for maybe non-kids....2xl? at this point in life, ive come to expect medium to be the only giveaway/good deal shirts that exist. If i want something that will fit me, i will have to pay through the nose or lose weight and a couple inches off my height at that...

I recall Medium being an option, and Large is obviously an option, as that's what I snapped a pic of, but I think the other other size option I might have seen was XL. I'm not 100% certain of it, but I'm pretty sure the three packs I saw were all different sized.

The Boros shirt is exactly like the one I picked up from Wal-Mart before, which is why I didn't get one of the packs that contained that one. I assume the other guild shirts are just like the Wal-Mart shirts (solid black with just the guild symbol).

Here's some pics off my phone. Just took them, as I hadn't opened it yet. The Liliana shirt's picture is kind of hard to see, even in person, as it just looks like a B symbol until you look really close.

At Toys'R'Us I spotted a new generic bundle thing like Walmart and Target get all the time (TRU rarely does). It comes with two booster packs (RTR and KTK for me) and two assorted T-shirts, again like the kind Walmart carried for a while. The bundle I bought has the Jace shirt and the MTG logo, but the Boros, Simic, Chandra, Liliana (in B symbol), and Izzet shirts are also in the bundles. Trying to be as descriptive as I can, and since there are multiple Jace and Chandra shirts, these are like the limited Elspeth they did near the beginning of Theros. It seemed a decent deal for $21.99.

  • posted a message on [[M15]] Mothership Spoilers 7/1/14: Sliver Hivelord and Generator Servant
The hilarious thing is that it's completely reasonable for the Sliver Hivelord to come out turn 3 or, more likely, 4.

Turn 1: Land, 1 CMC Sliver (or nothing)
    Turn 2: Land, Manaweft Sliver
Turn 3: Land, Hivelord (or 2/3 cost other sliver)
Turn 4: Hivelord (if you didn't T3 him)

If you're on the play, you could have him out before a Verdict is even remotely a problem. Then you only have to care if your opponent is playing W or Curse of Piggies.

  • posted a message on M15 art for Jace and Garruk spoiled on twitter
This all but confirms a new Jace, and helps cement the theory that the arts used on the Planeswalker figures is the arts for the new cards. The Garruk art on the playmat doesn't seem right for a planeswalker card, but might be featured the same way Wit's End and that one Nicol Bolas art was featured in M13. I still say this means (based on present information) new Jace, Ajani, Garruk and Nissa, with Chandra, Pyromaster representing the red corner and Liliana Vess backing black. Granted, I don't understand why solely bring back Vess instead of just making a new one, and why two new Ajani in back-to-back sets, but I'm just working with what we've been given.

It's not unreasonable to suspect that the art provided will be the ones on the M15 cards, for consistant marketing purposes. Judging by the art they used, I think it's reasonable to say that Chandra will be a reprint, Nissa will be our green walker in her 2.0 form, Jace and Ajani will both get new versions in their original colors, and Garruk will take the spot of the black walker of the set.

That's a lot of new walkers for a core set!

An interesting perspective. It's possible that they only included Liliana because she's the most iconic B planeswalker, which would also be why they used her original art in her mugshot.
