Yes that works. Bola's Citadel has you cast a spell using an alternative casting cost, so you can use that cost to cast Lotus Bloom.

I found a ruling on a similar case on judge apps. It is an old ruling, but I don't think the rules governing this have changed since then.

    https://apps.magicjudges.org/forum/topic/3362/

    Duskmantle Guildmage

Whenever a card is put into an opponent's graveyard from anywhere this turn, that player loses 1 life.

Does the first ability wear off in the cleanup step like a continuous effect?

Or does it actually last until the actual turn end because of the delayed trigger?

It doesn't end at the start of the cleanup step, because it's not a continuous effect.

As you say, it is a delayed triggered ability - it will trigger when its triggering event happens. “This turn” here doesn't have the special meaning it has for continuous effects; it simply adds a check that is done to know if the triggering event happens or not.

A situation where it's relevant: after Duskmantle Guildmage's ability resolves, Giant Growth is cast on an Eager Cadet controlled by the opponent, then Night of Souls' Betrayal is cast. At end of turn, Giant Growth's effect will end, then Eager Cadet dies, which triggers Duskmantle Guildmage's delayed triggered ability.

The key word there is "effects". The delayed trigger is not an effect, it's an ability set up by the effect of a resolving trigger. The effect that set it up does not state until end of turn or this turn, that is part of the delayed trigger. Therefore the delayed triggered ability will trigger whenever the condition is met during that turn, even in the cleanup step.

Yes. The duration of the delayed trigger ends in the cleanup step. since you kill the saproling in the end step, which is before the cleanup step, the delayed trigger goes off and kills the other saprolings, too.

Correction, the delayed trigger does not expire in the cleanup step. Delayed triggers are not until end of turn effects, so they will continue to apply until the turn is over.

    Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle

Valakut has an intervening 'if' clause that states the condition must be true for the ability to trigger and also be true when it resolves. So yes you can indeed use Fulminator Mage to destroy the Stomping Grounds in response to the triggers. If you do that all but one of the triggers from Valakut will no longer be true and those abilities will be removed from the stack. However the trigger from the Stomping Grounds entering the battlefield is still true (meaning there are still 5 other mountains) so you'd still take 3 points of damage from that trigger.

Yeah scratch that. After thinking about it I realized it has 2 different replacement effects, but as it's entering the battlefield both counters are actually put on the GCG at the same time.

The one point I'd like to argue about is that you'd only get one trigger. In this case you have two instances of Riot, and if you choose to put a +1/+1 counter on each, then you have one instance of Riot that is putting a +1/+1 counter on the GCG and another instance of Riot that is putting a counter on GCG. Those are two separate events that put a +1/+1 counter on the GCG, so even though it enters with 2 +1/+1 counters each of those counters were put on it by a separate event. So you'd get two triggers, not one.

    From the MTG Comprehensive Rulebook:

121.6. Some spells and abilities refer to counters being put on an object. This refers to putting counters on that object while it's on the battlefield and also to an object that's given counters as it enters the battlefield.

603.10. Normally, objects that exist immediately after an event are checked to see if the event matched any trigger conditions, and continuous effects that exist at that time are used to determine what the trigger conditions are and what the objects involved in the event look like. However, some triggered abilities are exceptions to this rule; the game "looks back in time" to determine if those abilities trigger, using the existence of those abilities and the appearance of objects immediately prior to the event. The list of exceptions is as follows:

This trigger doesn't follow any of the exceptions. So the GCG (Growth-Chamber Guardian) enters the battlefield with the counters, after that it then checks to see if any trigger conditions are met. At this time the GCG is on the battlefield, so GCG's ability will trigger since the condition is met.

  • posted a message on Sacrificing creature enchanted by Dominating Licid
No, in order to sacrifice a creature you need to have control of it. After the creature is sacrificed state based actions are performed before a player would receive priority and sends the licid - enchantment to the graveyard. In order to end the effect and turn the licid back into a creature you'd need to have priority, which you wouldn't have here until the licid is already in the graveyard.

  • posted a message on Madness at cleanup step discard, and floating mana with Gush
Your mana pool empties at the end of each step and/or phase. So your mana would empty at the end of the end step before the clean up step begins (which is where you'd discard down to 7 cards).

Shalai's ability gives hexproof to other creatures you control. So Shalai herself isn't hexproof and can be targeted by spells and abilities your opponents control.

Assuming you control Firesong and Sunspeaker and Justice Strike:

Justice Strike is a red instant spell, so it has lifelink thanks to Firesong and Sunspeaker's first ability.

Justice Strike is also a white instant spell, so if that spell, due to the damage Firesong and Sunspeaker deals this way, causes you to gain life (because it happens while Justice Strike is resolving), Firesong and Sunspeaker's second ability will trigger (C.R. 603.2, 119.3f; see also this thread).

The problem is Justice Strike doesn't actually deal any damage to the creature. The creature itself is dealing the damage to itself. So even though Justice Strike has lifelink, you won't gain life from it since the source dealing the damage is the creature. The same is true for Sunspeaker's second ability, even if the creature has lifelink, again it's not the spell causing life gain.

Correction - If the creature has lifelink it will indeed trigger Sunspeaker's ability.

    Yes and Yes.

The mana is produced in the declare attackers step. You could use it in the declare attackers step, or in the declare blockers step after blocks have been declared, if you want to pump them before damage is dealt.

No you can't do that. Both Brindle Boar and Bone Splinters sacrifice pays a cost. You can't sacrifice for one and get the effect of the other. It's kind of like putting a dollar into a vending machine, you can't get two items out of that vending machine that each cost a dollar.

Is this similar to if someone cast Duress on their opponent, failed to write down the contents of their hand, and then immediately asked their opponent to tell them what they had in their hand (before any more cards were drawn, played , or discarded)? Is that something the opponent is obligated to do?

Once duress has resolved, the player is under no obligation to assist their opponent in what is in their hand. If they choose not to write down their hand before the player finished resolving duress, then they are out of luck.

As to your original question about manifest. You do not have to point out which card is the bears, however you do have to make it clear which card was manifested first, second, third, etc. Whether they can figure out which manifest is the bears from that info is their problem.
