Selesnya & Rakdos seemed to dominate. The Selesnya promo was way better than everyone gave it credit. Also Carnival Hellstead was just a great finisher for decks with undercosted beaters.
I went 3-1 at a 72 person event with IZZET! So much fun. I swear all my wins came from behind, with the opponent in disbelief.
All stars (I should note that I consider these all stars because they worked for me. I know some of them are garbage according to most people): traitorous instinct steal for the win! dynacharge swing for the win! goblin electromancer lets you do both on turn 5. serious over performer here folks. teleportal you win the turn after if all the previous turn's tricks weren't enough. frostburn weird gets in for 2 or 3 every time.
overrated chemister's trick just felt like conditional removal in the end. drawing my arrest felt twice as good. izzet keyrune never had tempo to spare in order to cast this. plus when i did get it down, seemed to be the worst of the keyrunes.
Just completed my first attempt (other than my "plains lightning" circa 1997, wish i had a pic :))
My first observation was how sore the back of my neck was the next day. Good soreness though, like after a workout.
Also, the #11 tips break so fast.
Biggest challenge so far is creating curved cuts. the paper edge has a tendency to rise up when doing so, not sure if that makes sense.
I used about 12 or so spacers. I felt like a badass the first time I completed all four cuts on the spacer, lifted it up and had the picture just fall out without any corner snags
I propose that Raid Bombardment and the Ascension will both trigger successfully causing 7 damage to my opponent and beefing my creatures up to 5/6s before the declare blockers phase.
My opponent says the +5 +5 is added thereby negating raid bombardment's requirement of "power 2 or less".
He then decides to cast reverberate on the Eruption.
I tried to tell him that the minute the card is revealed, the eruption resolves making it impossible to copy. I also argued that if i had a mana leak, i could wait to see what the revealed card was and then decide if I should counter it, which makes absolutely no sense.
So, after arguing for ages, I just conceded the ruling and let him copy. Also, a reverberated eruption would look at the top card twice in a row. We both agreed on this. Kinda like two attacking Goblin Guides.
I somehow won all four rounds with this deck. I was definitely lucky with some of my opponent's draws and their lack of willingness to mulligan. I didn't change a single card in this deck the whole day, depsite almost completely changing colors after a lucky win in round one. Oh, was in downtown Seattle for flight 5 sealed.
Paired w/ the phyrexian packs, Scars gave me pretty much nothing but some solid commons. I also ended up only running 2 rares the whole day. I was also fortunate having to only mulligan once.
First Round: 2-1 (B/R/U Phyrexian Beater?)
She worked me with massacre worm in the first game, but couldn't come up with land for her high casting cost creatures in the last two games.
Second Round: 2-0 (B/G Infect)
I finally won the creature race in a first game that took about 40 minutes. Then he left me wide open for an untamed might in the second game.
Third Round: 2-0 (R/W Metalcraft)
This was my first matchup against Mirran. Wow, I felt bad for this guy. He had out two of those new (w) 1/1 metalcraft guys. I let him tag me a couple times until he dropped metalcraft. I then played creeping corrosion for the first win. With the amount of artifact removal in my deck, he was a turn behind the whole second game. Pistus strike finally worked as well!!
Fourth Round: (B/G Infect)
Once again the infect duel proved to be about as equal as it can get. However, it turns out white infect outlasts, and I was able to win the first game with a Phyrexian Hydra + trample til' end of turn. I arrested and got through again with the Hydra for my first victory ever at an MTG event!

Lost my game to Rakdos!

I can't wait to try more cards.

Moved to the "PWND" thread.

Can I play a 1/1 artifiact creature, and sacrifice it to throne of geth?
Thanks!
Opponent just stole a telepathy from my 2 headed partner with a Volition Reins.
I tap liquimetal coating to make Volition an artifact.
I cast Metallic Mastery on the Volition Reins.
What happens?
I propose thatVolition reins unattaches and Telepathy goes back to my 2v2 partner.
I have seven 0/1 creatures.
I have a Beastmaster Ascension with no counters and Raid Bombardment
I attack with all seven creatures.

Thanks for looking.
He played Cerebral Eruption and I revealed a Leonin Skyhunter.
