Wow, I really appreciate the feedback. I realize the game has changed a lot since I played last. I used to have a R/G mana acceleration deck that used mana vaults, sol ring, tinder walls, and orcish lumberjacks to pop out second turn shivan dragons and balduvian hordes and the like. It used Jakulhaups to clear the board and plop down a massive lhurgoyf to finish the opponent off.
I kinda thought mono red burn had the problem of running out of gas and being too one dimensional. So I thought I would splash in black for some discard and quick weenies after the jokulhaups if things were looking bad. I added the bloodchief ascension as a means of continuous damage that could survive the jokulhaups. The scroll rack i thought served the purpose of finding more gas and using a fetch land to reshuffle. I thought earthquake would clear the board of creatures and provide more direct damage too. Thunderbolts would take care of any flying creatures or just provide more D.D. The orcish artillery I thought could survive a small earthquake, provide assistance on a creature kill, and provide a little more D.D.
I recognize that all this might slow things down and have seriously contemplated your suggestions. I almost think it would be better to just go to mono red. Keep the fetch lands for deck thinning. I also picked up 3 chain lightnings (still need 1 more), a flame rift (gotta get some more of these!), and a shard volley (ditto). I also will try to get a couple more browbeats, how can you pass this card up for burn, hmmm... will you give me a ancestral recall or will you take 5 damage? Tough call, haha Thanks for everyones input!
Thank you for checking out the thread. This B/R Burn deck was
built for legacy. I really need some expert advice. It has been
a while since I've played Magic!
