The Wolf RUn decks obviously have the best mu against g/w, Reid Duke's pod list from the SCG invitational top 8 also has quite a good mu, and the four color control/solar flare decks beat it handily as well.

You need to have a good read on the meta to determine what to play. By flickerwisp, I assume you mean the mono white control list that won the latest Seattle PTQ. If there is alot of aggro in the meta that deck is probably good. In a fae dominated field the bant deck is probably the best. WW and boros are decent in fields with other linear aggresive decks, although I probably would not play them. To be honest I think mono white is the best deck this weekend, as it is a virtual auto win against aggro, and has a decent matchup against control. Fae is a terrible matchup, but you can probably build your board to appropriately defeat the winged nemesis.

The best point why thopter foundry is not a good threat in standard, is the comment made above. This format has way too many good six drops already: the five titans, wurmcoil engine, mindslaver, etc..While your casting thopter foundry, opponents could potentially be tapping their six mana to kill you with a primeval titan. The fatal flaw with thopter foundry is that it has to survive one turn to make a real impact on the board, while the formats more popular six drops make a significant impact as soon as they hit the board. With so many people playing artifact removal, as well as efrficient creature removal, I really don't see a place for it in the current standard environment. If you do want to play artifacts, there are a fair amount fo good decks such as Ali Aintrazi's mono blue list, or the Tezzeret decks from Paris.

There are a few specualtive reasons. Firstly, merfolk did win last weeks open, and sword of fire and ice is a notably good card against them. Secondly, as alot of people said here there is an overhype about sword of feast and famine, and its potential in legacy.
It honestly probably has to do more with starcity itself. Starcity ingeniously created the legacy opens so that not only do they make money off of the event, but so more people would need to by the expensive legacy cards that were previously not selling. As legacy has gotten to be more popular with the opens, subsequently the cards have gotten much more expensive. Because starcity has a huge amount of legacy staples, moreso then almost any other singles dealer, they are able to arbitrarily dictate prices on legacy, because they are the ones the cards are being bought from.

I feel like the deck concept itself is good, but functionally the list doesn't perform as well as expected. I really do believe that you are playing this deck almost exclusively for suppresion field, which is a situationally good card in legacy. I think that this deck could be better if you cut the creatures, and moved the deck more towards a mono white stacks deck.

  • posted a message on Cards stolen
At Grand Prix: Tampa last year I went to go get some card by the artists, and after I had gotten them signed, i looked in my bag and noticed i was missing two deckboxes, one containing an almost all foiled dark depths deck, and my sealed deck for the grand prix. A had to drop out of the gp, and lost the upwards of 1,500 dollars in cards. Later I went to the lost and found, who had previously not had any of my cards, and they had my sealed deck with all of the rares stripped out of it, but not the signifcantly more important dark depths deck.
Since this, I really haven't had nay cards of my own, because I had traded alot of my collection to get to the dark depths deck. I've become alot more responsible with cards though also, because they are as everyone knows incredibly expensive.
Sorry man that you got your stuff stolen, I know it sucks really bad, and i hope you get them back. I probably wouldn't go back to that store for a while though if the person ho stole them isn't caught, because you know that there is someone there who is okay with stealing expensive cards form other people.
