I've recently returned to playing magic after a 10+ year hiatus. (I quit back in 1997, roughly around )
I quite roughly around Ice Age and the invention of Standard being one of the old guard who was unhappy that there was a format where I couldn't play my Power 9.
Fast forward, I stepped into a X Planet Games in September with an old friend who wanted to check out some Warhammer 40K stuff, and the guy behind the counter turned out to be one of my old Magic gaming buddy's.
Some things I was shocked to learn about:
1) "Planewalkers", what the hell was this? what do you mean its not a creature?
2)"Indestructible", what do you mean I can't kill it?
3) No damage on the stack!?!?
4) What do you mean effects go through if they are on the stack even if the source of the effect was no longer in play?
5) What do you mean you can tap a blocking creature and it still deals damage?!?
Its official, after 10+ years I'm back on the cardboard crack for 4 months now, and I've already got 2 old play partners hooked on it too
