So... I'm leaving. You guys rocked. Feel free to contact me via IM or anything like that.

I guess this means you'll need a new clan leader; I'll leave the choice up to you, but I'd say that SorryGuy and/or Moss_Elemental seem to be the obvious choices.

The title says it all. I'm stepping down as a moderator, and leaving the site entirely. School's starting up, I've developed other interests, and my involvement and, to some extent, interest, in the site has slowly been waning. Thus, I feel it's time for me to leave.

SorryGuy will be manning the Monthly and Weekly contests for as long as he cares to, after which point whomever is replacing me will probably take over.

I should mention that this has nothing to do with internal politics or drama. The staff is a great bunch of folks.

I'd give props, but there are way too many people to list.

    Goodbye.

  • posted a message on Happy New Year!
It's Erev Rosh Hashanah, which for Jews marks the beginning of the new year (it's 5767) and the beginning of the High Holy Days! We celebrate by eating Challah shaped like a crown with raisins inside, and dipping apples in honey, which represents the sweetness of the new year. At the end of the High Holy Days, we fast for a day and then feast.

So, Yom Tov to those who celebrate it, and to those who don't... well, have a happy day anyway.

This topic of conversation ends NOW. I don't want to see another post talking about how offended you are that someone doesn't like your artwork. I will give out infractions. Seriously, folks, how hard is it to read contructive criticism without taking it personally? For that matter, how hard is it to take it personally without raging about it publicly?

    Charlie - Infraction for trolling.
Topher and Flappy - Yellow cards for troll-feeding.

All the responses to this topic will be deleted. Don't let this happen again.

    ASF and his cubes...
    You and your Windows ;).

I figure I might as well put up a few pictures of my own. The first is without windows so you can see my super-sexy desktop setup. The second is with Banshee up so you can see my super-sexy GTK+ theme.

Unfortunately, I had to uninstall Compiz for good because Quinnstorm's repository broke my system in one too many places.

Quick question - do we have to use Magic art? If so, I will be a sad pup, since I just spent a couple of hours making this out of screenshots from my Monty Python DVD.

My first entry (hopefully) into the weekly contest:

No, you don't, but you must link to all non-magic art you use.

    This week's theme:
    Knights
White knights, black knights, or even red knights if you can find any. There are plenty out there. The medium is a good old banner.

    Now, hop to it!

...but I'm not going to. You are. This thread is the official place to post your Magic-themed wallpapers to make up for Wizards' deficiency in this department. Post away!

I'm interested in trying my hand at some of this Photoshoppery, but I can't find any working links to card frame PSD's. Any help? And the Magic font? Where do I get that from? Cheers.
The link to PSD 13 is working, as is the link to Magic Symbols 2006B. Plantin and Matrix Bold are proprietary fonts, though, so we can't give them to you... you could use MPlantin instead of Plantin, though.

BTW Nex3 would it be better if we uplaoded JPG wallpapers for the likes of eclipsed when they are going to vote? Slant
It's really your choice. If you want to make it more accessible at the sacrifice of quality, be my guest.

This gives me an idea - we need to have, like, a banner contest, where contestants can only use MS Paint. Artist
Suggestion noted. But what about those of us who use non-Microsoft operating systems?

Technically, it's without render. I think Nex is planning for the next Photoshop Contest to render the un-card in a real wonked-out Un frame, such as Wizards has done before (ala Rocket-Powered Turbo Slug).
    Yes, that.
