Quote from PsyOpThe problem with Ancient Greek and Ancient Roman influences is that they are too similar to both base broad stroke blocks around and make them seem different enough yet faithful to the source material.
Actually, a number of sources from R&D have said that they tried to keep references to Roman stuff at a minimum because they thought there was enough differences that they might want to do a Roman based setting somewhere down the line and wanted to keep the option available.

Only 4 of the 21 oracles in Magic are from Theros related sets. Suffice it to say, Theros by no means has a monopoly on the concept.

What does it say about a person that the best defense they can come up with for their attitude is "name calling is worse than being an actual racist"?

Bear in mind that you're responding to someone who firmly believes, and has posted here in no uncertain terms, that "racism doesn't exist anymore but calling someone racist is horrible and divisive."

I like chicken sandwiches, but I refuse to eat at Chik-fil-A. It's actually pretty easy to a) be mindful of what other people do with your money, and b) withhold it altogether if you take issue with any one thing they do with it. Sometimes what a person is willing to tolerate says as much about them as what they overtly agree with.

I think this has already been mentioned, but it's really hard to coexist with other people who don't want you to exist at all. There are some attitudes, opinions, and behaviors that don't get a pass under the auspices of tolerance (or free speech), and bigotry might be at the very top of that list.

This, very much. They / them are used when you don't know the gender of a particular individual - and it's not 'grammatically incorrect.' Did you also notice that the article is singular?

I'm confused. How does the mere presence of a female character equate to "sex sells"?
