Hello again folks. No spoils this time around, darn those french.
Anyways, lessons from NPH, MBS, SOM drafting....
Slash Panther is really a colorless card that costs 4 mana and 2 life and fits in any deck. Procelain Legionnaire is really a colorless card that costs 2 mana and 2 life and fits in any deck. Curves out amazingly well and kills almost all drops till turn 5 or so. Spined Thopter is really a colorless card that costs 2 mana and 2 life and fits in any deck. Thunder Tanadon is really a colorless card that costs 4 mana and 4 life and fits in any deck. The 4 toughness makes this thing shine as it can block almost any early creatures then go for blood evening out the life cost. Who knew trampling over myr tokens was so fun? Blinding Souleater is amazing as you can tap out and still tap something down. Won several games riding on its back.
Archetypes that weren't expected:
Red black Burn Infect Fallen Ferromancer, Volt Charge, and Reaper of Sheoldred were crazy together. The ferromancer is a later/cheaper running cost Vedalken Anatamist that can hit players for poison. It wrecks people, there are so many x/1's and x/2's that it has to be answered. Additionally the Reaper just screams to be double blocked or blocked and burned. Lastly splashing 2 islands for a Viral Drake was crazy for non-tapping proliferate.
Golem spam
The uncommon splicers, Master Splicer, Vital Splicer, Wing Splicer, were all amazing, 4 mana for 4 power over 2 creatures, the white even more so for 4 mana 5 power. But in multiples they were insane. The Sensor Splicer worked well and was definitely worth the 5 mana cost. The Maul Splicer however didn't see play as it cost too much. Flying & vigilance was more preferable.
And lastly tempo/removal cards that wrecked people's day Geth's Verdict- forces you to black but at instant speed its too good. Vapor Snag- can be used way too effectively as a time walk when they tap out for that bomb, oh and they loose a life. Yes it is Unsummon, but it is strictly better and this is limited. Forced Worship- turn their threat into a wall. When you can deal with it or they block so it dies, bounce the enchant to your hand and re-use it. Incredible value in limited.
Sadly the future drafting for NPH wasn't as exciting as it was for MBS but who knows what will happen next time.
tldr version: Paying to life rather than splashing a color is too good to pass up and burning infections are good.... wait.....
6. Galvanoth - known to be a 3RR 5/5 (or possibly 4/6), nothing else known
7. (New Skullclamp) Viridian Claw - We know it's an equipment with one instance of "equipped".
8. Kemba's Legion - 5WW, probably a 4/6 (possibly 5/5), Cat, must use "Equipment" once.
9. Morbid Plunder - 2WW, must use "equip" and "attach" once without using the word "equipment" or "equipped"
It was posted sometime earlier in this thread
any others? like signal pest? or the like? Of those I think I may have the morbid not any other. What i mean is besides normal card text, any rarities or creature types etc.
yeah.... If someone wants to make a list of the ones that we are missing pictures of or rarities or creature types etc i'll look through what i have, i didn't realize there were so many ones that were missing minor things
Signal Pest, Plague Myr, and Viridian Claw have to be Common. The only unknown rarities after that are Kemba's Legion and Master's Call. One is common, the other uncommon... don't know which is which yet...
This count brings White to 9C/5U which matches Black and Red. Blue and Green are 8C/6U.
Artifacts by this count are 17C/13U... odd, 14 Rares for artifacts... more than the uncommons.
Of all of those, iirc, Signal Pest is the uncommon... I'll have to dig it up if I can tonight. prolly gonna be real late though. I haven't seen Kemba's Legion but master call and plague myr are all common.
highly impressed with the strength and utility of these commons. really.
And I see cards that make you want to play aggro and then more cards that shut it down in entirety.
I see aggro midrange being the only solid type of aggro around tbh. global -1/-1 counters hurts. a lot. and now there are 2 cards that do it at an affordable cost.
Overall this set slows things down, most packs felt like there were 6-8 5+ CMC cards. On the other hand if you manage to last that long you can just constant drop them after that point. The Fangren Marauder is crazy as late game stabalizer in limited.
RED: Galvanoth, Kuldotha Ringleader and Metallic Mastery
ARTIFACT: Darksteel Plate, Strandwalker, and viridian claw.
I actually might have morbid plunder, horrifying revelation, metallic mastery (artifact threaten), the ringleader (battlecry, must attack each turn) and strandwalker (iirc living weapon or artifact creature w/reach). I'll see if i can scrounge those up later tonight

-Peace till future spoils.
P.S.
Sorry I didn't have it, or I would have.
here it is, as well as the Ringleader and a bunch of others that people wanted images for.
edit: and morbid plunder

Apparently I am somehow responsible for this. LOL
Unfortunately no
bold is what I remember.

I'm thinking the original shenanigans with the wurm were more for hype/troll fun. Its just vanilla green fat but still AMAZING for limited.
