Feb 1, 2011lynnalynn posted a message on Power creep sucks for the fun and my wallet. It's a valid complaint, though I have to say with the power creep as it is it really fixes one of the big problems magic had back in the day. The more money you had, the better your deck was. I mean I remember trying and convince my mom to drop 10 dollars on a collosus of sardina (ok, i know, bad spelling), just so I could make an artifact deck. Now this was back during ice age block/revised...So that wasn't that common, but the point of it is the truly good cards were the ones who would trounce you everytime, and only the people buying rares, especially expensive ones would win.Posted in: Blog?
I do agree though, power has risen GREATLY. I look at one of my favorite cards from back in the day, Chromium, Now days he is all but unplayable. Then, he would devestate. 7/7 Flying Rampage 2 with a WUB Upkeep. You literally had to devote 3 of your lands to him. Now days you have dragons that really blow him out of the water one way or another without the upkeep. So in that respects I can see your complaint too. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
On top of that is the "Duel of the Planeswalkers" additions of Rhys and Niv. I would love to see a Niv/Bolas planeswalker Smack-Down, but I would also like to see some Nissa/Rhys interaction.
Bolas has some interest in the outcome of mirrodin vs phyrexian. So here is the question, Why? I know, never meddle in the matters of dragons, but when looking at looking for subtle hints, it looks like dragons are going to be part of the theme. Maybe it will be a return to Alara, or even maybe a return to Lorwyn due to Lor/Sha Dragons awakening? Who knows, these are just some ramblings.
Darnit, I was hoping for a new creature type Kaiju! That would be an awesome one for Gnathosaur.
But in all seriousness, that is kind of awesome and funny at that same time
Lol I agree, and that makes me happy~
Though it would be cool to see some Purple Rare reprints of the Futureshifted cards....Or some Contraptions!
Oh trust me, I am going to try for it, I am just being a pessimist due to the fact that I know how my playgroup is, especially my on again off again girlfriends elfball deck, by turn 6 she is fireballing for 30. But it might work against my roommates Vamp/Mill deck...that might be where to get this combo going right lol :D. I'm just worried about getting the cards out soon enough...maybe i should invest in that thrumming stone.
Lolled so hard at that, such awesomeness that will never be usable no matter how much I am going to try
Lol, trust me I was already taking notes and figuring my own additions lol. It's going to be one of those decks I pull out just for the funny of it, or maybe at my local gamestore if I want to get them to laugh. And true, tell the truth I was happy with the amount of kill my bad math was doing in my first post about doubling season and mirrorworks, but googol damage is way cooler lol.
ok, now here is a question i need to know on that, would you be able to copy the doubling season with mirrorworks with a mycosynth lattice? and if so, how would that effect the over all formation of this giant battleline?
Now that is a great number to hear I'm going to have to try something like this in casual with my friends, just to see the look on there face when I bring up a number like that on how many golems I bring into play
