Between the two tests, I got BRG and BRW at an equal amount in the first test, and then BRG and RGW in the second test at the same amount. Just adding my total hits together, I am going to go with BRG. The Jund Wedge always is fun for me lol. Great Quizes by the way

I'm hoping (and have my reasons to believe) that it is either a return to Alara, or a return to Shadowmoore/Lorwyn. The name especially works with the latter, considering that at the end the world was reassembled into 1 state of being, along with a few other reasons. I am pretty sure that they are going to explore more of the already established worlds though.

they also mentioned the possibility of more player counters besides poison possibly popping up in the future. Who knows, maybe one of these could end up being in the next block. Like an honor counter (kamigawa set), burn counter (Lor/Sha), burn counter (alara), or any other number of things.

To me it seems that if Phyrexia wins, they will become more like a dark mirror of Mirrodin, if Mirrans win, they will become a dark reflection of there former selves, either way.

maybe we will see an emphasis on Bolas' search? I mean Tezzy has an interesting story going on, now granted they won't probably put Tezz in the next block but doesn't mean they can't touch on it. Also the new duel deck is going to be Knights Vs Dragons. These decks have been used as hints in the past.

On top of that is the "Duel of the Planeswalkers" additions of Rhys and Niv. I would love to see a Niv/Bolas planeswalker Smack-Down, but I would also like to see some Nissa/Rhys interaction.

Bolas has some interest in the outcome of mirrodin vs phyrexian. So here is the question, Why? I know, never meddle in the matters of dragons, but when looking at looking for subtle hints, it looks like dragons are going to be part of the theme. Maybe it will be a return to Alara, or even maybe a return to Lorwyn due to Lor/Sha Dragons awakening? Who knows, these are just some ramblings.

I'm going to choose which side has the least amount of players at my local event, just to balance things out. I like the Mirran Creatures more, but I like the phyrexian noncreatures more....I'm stuck and can't figure this out lol. I take Tezzies side!

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but the Japanese version of Gnathosaur has a printing error.
Instead of "Creature - Lizard", it says "Gnathosaur." It's a whole new permanent type lol

Darnit, I was hoping for a new creature type Kaiju! That would be an awesome one for Gnathosaur.

But in all seriousness, that is kind of awesome and funny at that same time

  • posted a message on New Land Artwork?
I'm hoping they are making them special basics, kinda like snow or artifact. Ones that would help there current faction would be nice. WotC did state it was to "Balance" the factions. Well, guess we will see tonight. Either way it doesn't matter, slots added to add land that we would pull anyways, just more artwork for the Scars Binder.

Though it would be cool to see some Purple Rare reprints of the Futureshifted cards....Or some Contraptions!

never say never... there's jank players everywhere. my local shop has a free fnm for the jank players. I somehow managed to win last week by kicking 2 rites of replication on my precursor golem. I'm just glad no one asked me to do the math.

Oh trust me, I am going to try for it, I am just being a pessimist due to the fact that I know how my playgroup is, especially my on again off again girlfriends elfball deck, by turn 6 she is fireballing for 30. But it might work against my roommates Vamp/Mill deck...that might be where to get this combo going right lol :D. I'm just worried about getting the cards out soon enough...maybe i should invest in that thrumming stone.

Trust me, you want as many doubling seasons as possible, because it's a factor more times. Where the number of Mirrorworks get's mulitplied in only once when the Golem's are played, the number of Doubling Seasons is checked over and over.

    Mirrorworks
    Mirrorworks 2- 1+1+1=3
    Mirrorworks 3- 3+1+3=7
    Mirrorworks 4- 7+1+7=15
    Sculpting Steel 1=31
    Sculpting Steel 2=63
    Sculpting Steel 3=127
    Sculpting Steel 4=255 Mirrorworks

    Next
    Doubling Season 1 = 1+255=256
    Doubling Season 2 = 1+(255*2^256)= 2.9527E+79

This just started and already we have more doubling seasons than golem tokens. In fact, I'm willing to say that playing doubling season with Mycosynth Lattice and Mirrorworks is the rough equivalent of dividing by zero.

    Doubling Season 3 = 1+(255*2^2.9527)= #NUM!

Hmmmm, strange answer, Excel. Just let me go divide by zero quick...

    9001/0= #NUM!

Oh my God, I knew it!

Lolled so hard at that, such awesomeness that will never be usable no matter how much I am going to try

Not a rules expert but I'm pretty sure Doubling Season counts as an artifact by the time Mirrorworks does the check.

As for if you should cast all four Doubling Seasons first or intersperse it between Mirrorworks, the interactions are way too complex for me to figure out without devoting serious time to the problem, and frankly I consider attacking for a googol damage "mission accomplished" in most senses of the phrase.

I wonder how viable a deck using this combo would be? Most of the cards are Standard or (at least in the case of Mercy Killing and Coat of Arms) Extended legal. Seems like a fun Johnny challenge at the very least.

Lol, trust me I was already taking notes and figuring my own additions lol. It's going to be one of those decks I pull out just for the funny of it, or maybe at my local gamestore if I want to get them to laugh. And true, tell the truth I was happy with the amount of kill my bad math was doing in my first post about doubling season and mirrorworks, but googol damage is way cooler lol.

the living weapons almost got me to switch sides, but Mirran's have won me over in the end. Though I am going to collect them all. I like the mortarpod as well as the other 3 revealed. Now I just have to wait for number 5 (orb of insight gave a listing for 5 of them)

Mercy Killing + Coat of Arms makes this completely ridiculous. Now you're playing with over a googol of creature power.

ok, now here is a question i need to know on that, would you be able to copy the doubling season with mirrorworks with a mycosynth lattice? and if so, how would that effect the over all formation of this giant battleline?

This is wrong for the second time, but I think after this I've got it right. I forgot to add in the affect of doubling season on the tokens created by the new precursor golems made during the rite of replications. So instead of being 160*the previous precursor total, it's 160*16 again, so 2560*. To excel...

    precursors vanillas
    before rites 334084 10680560
    rite 1 27060804 1720380400
    rite 2 2191925124 208626470640
    rite 3 177545935044 22510072439280
    rite 4 14381220738564 2277833461294320
So yeah, 2,292,214,682,032,880 golems... I don't even know the word for that many digits anymore. I'm not touching pyromancer's ascensions, but coat of arms is easy; the total power would be the number of golems times (3+number of golems -1) The minus one is because the coat of arms effect wont count each golem for itself.

    5.25425E+30 total power. That's 52,542,500,000,000,000,000,000,000.
I believe when a thought experiment exceeds 1 mol of damage (6.02E+23), it counts as a successful excercise.

Edit: Keep in mind that is with just one Coat of Arms. They would stack to almost quadruple the power at 2.1017E+31.

Now that is a great number to hear Grin I'm going to have to try something like this in casual with my friends, just to see the look on there face when I bring up a number like that on how many golems I bring into play
