We run the "flext" spot with a TE as well. This doesnt matter as usually you want a WR or RB there, but its one addition.
We "snake" draft. You draft opposite the next round (1 drafts last, 2nd drafts 2nd to last, last each round drafts twice basically)
My advice: Start reading up on stuff. Just read. Dont buy into everything every pundit is spouting, but still look for interesting things. Is a guy getting overlooked, even though he seems better than that? Might be worth throwing a pick on when you feel comfortable about it. Remember that your early picks are mnainly for your studs (the guys you know will drop you 15 points a week), while later on, those picks are for unproven guys/rookies/your lottery tickets.
So, I know this title is still horribly out of date, but does anyone wanna do this again? Im always up for it and hopefully this year, I can actually set the league up right so as I actually have commish powers just in case (luckily the only thing that happened last year was solved nicely, but I dont want to be helpless-ish again)

Sell me on why Jori En is good. I think that its meh, but making the ability how I'd want it to be would be extremely beyond broken.

8 mans are always a bit weird in that you have so many studs, but if one get injured, its not a razor thin "Hopefully this 4th string guy breaks out." There is always value on the wire. Hell, Eli/Flacco/Stafford went undrafted. I know that two of the QB on the wire after the draft could be run in tandem and expect to get you 2 points less per week than Peyton/Luck/Rodgers. For that 2 point less per week, you would be drafting around the time the top tier RB were about to be gone.
Everyone has nuclear weapons and that means that something like who you have as your kicker or D/ST determines who wins. That excites me. It means that instead of just playing it safe sometimes, you take that risky D/ST who can get you 25 points or -5 points.
Just posting this as since our draft happened, I'd like to point out a few things and just general toasting speeches
To begin, since its come to my attention: I messed up when I made the league, and made it the wrong way. The only thing this affects is that I dont have LM powers. If you make a mistake and drop a guy, message me or post here as soon as you can. It happened with someone earlier today and I was let known of ASAP.
Now if you drop a guy and a day later you tell me, thats where things get murky as he could of been injured, you heard it was bad and dropped him and then when you found out it wasnt as bad, you tell me you accidentally dropped him. Now mind you, I dont think any of you would do that. If there it comes up like that, I will not hesitate to put it to a league vote. Im setting this out now so that if there is a conflict of interest (perhaps, I just like to be safe), I can come back here and show it.
I understand that mistakes happen and I also know that the people in the league have mostly done this before and know where the line lays. We are all people, or whatever the hell you classify Steelers fans as, of whats fair.
My second point is that playoff match-ups are two weeks. That means that we will be going until week 17, which means studs will likely be benched and you'll have to go for back-ups. Plan accordingly.
My final point is that I am planning on doing this again next year. I am hopeful that the major changes this year (No QB Flex and Modified D/ST scoring [based on re-crunching last years numbers, its a +/- of 1 point per game for D/ST] are loved and as the season goes on, I'd love to hear feedback. Dont be afraid to ask questions or give feedback to me. My only change so far is to make sure that if we do this again next year, that I set it up so I have LM powers so that the first point about accidental drops can be fixed more easily.
In closing, lets have a great year and SCREW THE SQUEALERS.

However due to how ESPN works, if the 8th isnt there an hour before draft, then it cancels the draft.
So if by 5pm EDT, the 8th hasnt joined, I'll send an invite. All I'd need is your email address (via pm if you want) if that happens.
I'd be up for D&D I guess. I also hated those stupid small books they put out just before 5E that seemed to really dumb down 4E. I still love my berserker and still want my Murder-Axe. All I care about.
I've heard good things about PexPeppers on r/spicy on reddit. I dont like advertising outside sites (or advertising at all), but it seems to have enough people saying good things about it.
Also, BWW, at least in my area, arent very good. Just seems gummy and the sauces dont do it for me. Then again, Im very finicky when it comes to wings. I like them cooked a certain way (I like them fresh and simple. Oil/Gummy wings really are a big turn-off for me)
Apologies for not getting it done sooner. I had a great Boardgame and Beer Night on saturday and sunday, I had a "Go away Mr. Sun" pow-wow..... Anyways, league is open and I need those e-mail addresses.
To be fair, I was going to do a FF baseball this year, but with it being hard last year, I decided not to. Also, as it stands, I will have the reigns for Fantasy Football here.
Hell, I even saw an idea for a 4 man league, where the top 16 (Top 32 RB and WR) positions were banned, so you had to draft sleepers.
League will be up soonish..... I have a party to attend and I at least wanted someone (not me) to be fine with this last second change. I always hated how D/ST was so high and ticked down so much. This way at least seems to mitigate the issue with "Bend but dont break" defenses and how they score. Limiting yards is very important, but limiting points is even more. 200 yards and 21 points feels worse in my eyes than 370 yards and 6 points.
I dont see anything wrong with your idea. And don't all abilities break a rule of magic (Haste breaks the "summoning sickness" rules.), so whats wrong with created abilities breaking the rules if they seem intuitive or the like?
