So after many years of playing EDH Ive decided to try my hand at Modern and Fish seemed like a fun to rock the boat with. Ive read back a few pages but couldnt really find anything about it but what are thoughts on Mizzium Skin? I guess its really just in my meta where skin has actually faired better and been more impactful than spell pierce.

I got started right around the end of Worldwake and the beginning of Rise. I had bought plenty of packs from Alara to Zen but never a Planeswalker. So I bought 3 packs of Rise and pulled Cast Through Time, Ulamog (which Im glad I kept cause at the time he was only worth 4) and...Sarkohn the Mad. Not the best first but beggars cant be choosers.

The first (and only) foil Planeswalker Ive ever pulled was from my box of NPH and got Foil Karn Liberated.

And the only planeswalker Ive ever pulled during an event (draft, pre-release, release) is Tibalt during the AVR Release. One day Im hoping my luck with change and I know what it feels like to open a "bomb" at a release....

When I first built my Jor Deck, I ran Staff of Nin but very rarely was it worth the investment. I never tutored for it cause I would always go for Senesi's Divining Top or Sol Ring depending on what the rest of my hand looked like. It was just too slow for a one-sided Howling Mine tome. I actually prefered running the mine for awhile cause even tho it gave others another card, It def gave me brownie points with the rest of the table for "sharing the wealth"

I believe Thran Dynamo will still tap for mana. Its says in first errata on Oracle for Bludgeon Brawl that the affected artifacts retain their other typs and abilities.

Hes still an artifact creature that triggers Metalcraft, has a large enough rump to block many incoming non-flying threats and can carry a sword like a champ. Personally I think hes a better option than Blood Moon, cause he doesnt paint quite so large a target on your head for affecting the board state. No buddy likes when opponents mess with lands, be destroying or "altering" them.

I can see more people waiting to keep SA alive to prevent the Animar player from swinging with his cheap fatties or the Trostani player from overrunning with all their tokens.

Im testing out Silent Arbiter in my deck. The reason being that given this is a psuedo Voltron build, Im really only going to be swinging with 1 heavily equipped creature anyway and not having to worry that much about a retaliatory punch in return from a swarm of dudes.

I wouldnt mind finding room in my list for Blood Moon but Im having trouble cutting things as it is since I need to find something to cut for Molten PSyche that suggested before lol.

Since your meta has a alot of board wipes, have your considered the new Haunted Plate Mail? It just seems to laugh at board wipes and Im going try and test it in my list and see how it goes now that I got my foil one (my deck is only really missing a few foils now :D)

Another guy that has done some serious work for me is Kor Duelist I like that hes cheaper than Fencing Ace and Boros Swiftblade (althought I run Swiftblade for flavor) and being able to drop him and be able to still equip stuff makes him awesome. One game I was playing 1v1 with a friend and this was my first few plays.
    Turn 1. Plains, Kor Duelist
Turn 2. Land, Sol Ring, Sword of War and Peace
Turn 3. Land, Jitte, Equip Both and Swing, 16 Damage
Turn 4. Land, Jor Kadeen for the Metalcraft, Swing, GG. Fastest win ever for the deck lol.

I like Tithe, it's a great card, but I decided to not run it because I have, if I calculated correctly, 15 mana worth of mana rocks that ramp me into the game fairly quickly. Also, it's tough to let out all my lands in my meta with the sheer number of land destruction that we run haha. Rest in Peace is great, but I use the graveyard too with the Titan to get back into the game after many board wipes, so I still need to hang onto it.

I used to run both of those tutor guys, but in my meta it is very dangerous to throw out every single resource at once because we wipe the field very, very, VERY often. My top deck manipulation, wheeling, and tutors I run now haven't left me needing extra. Trust me, I ran both those guys for a very long time each but they just weren't cutting it for me after a while.

You mentioned Molten Psyche, DEAR GOD! That is AMAZING! I need to find a spot for this ASAP!!! Thank you!

I use Tithe more for fetching Mistveil Plains which to recur Sunforger targets from the GY. If your running Madbind Mountain, Id atleast consider Mistveil as well even if you dont run Tithe.

Since were also on the subject of Sunforger targets, I caste my vote for Oblation and Lapse of Certainty. Granted alot of the time I use it as a removal for stuff/Generals but being able to save something of mine and then to draw 2 cards has never left me wanting.

And Lapse of Certainty. Im pretty sure its just me that has these loving feelings for this card. The priceless look on some players faces to hear the Boros player say "Counter it?" will keep this card as staple in my Jor deck until its demise lol. I guess this must just be in my playgroup that it makes its epic appearances but its been worth it everytime.

If you want even more LULZ, combine Molten Psyche with Psychosis Crawler. Wink

Id rather rely on having Platinum Angel out and then using Final Fortune. Sure you can't "counter" Angel's Grace bc of split second but Id have more mana to use during the extra turns and have a body to actually carry Sunforger if needed. Ive actually considered it since I run alot of protection for artifacts in my Jor Kadeen deck so keep the Angel alive isnt that hard.

Where oh Where is Stonehewer Giant? Sorry if you mentioned it in responses in the previous 5 pages but I just cant see running a equipment deck with out the King of Equipment Tutor. The best part about him is going fetch a any equipment at instant speed and he can even equip to creatures with Shroud. He and Godo, Bandit Warlord are why Im fine with running Argentum Armor since they just drop it on the BF and I can potential equip that turn.

Also since your running Reforge the Soul and Wheel, Ill throw out Molten Psyche since it basically does the same thing and since your running MetalCraft stuff anyway, alittle Damage to whole table never hurts Smile

Custody Battle With Child Of Alara, I Call It Divorce Of Alara!

I didnt really want to go the 5 Color route but a friend of mine just built a Child of Alara deck. I know Im going to regret suggesting this him Smile

So up until now, Ive been pretty content building EDH decks that have somewhat of a purpose and follow certain theme.

I want ideas for the most "chaotic" deck that can be made. I want people to want to pull their hair out in frustration not bc Im going to win the game right then and there but because of the effect thats about to resolve and they cant do anything to stop it and watch their perfectly sculpted hand or board go bye-bye.

Im thinking Grixis colors (namely Crosis since his new art is awesome)since I cant really think of any white or green cards that would complete the "chaotic requirement"

Obvious inclusions could be Warp World, Scrambleverse , Possibility Storm, Choice of Damnations

The simic deck Im building looks remarkable similar to this lol. And Im actually building the deck under the same similar rules as well to stay on theme to what Simic is really about. couple cards Im throwin in mine

Phyrexian Ingester- Sure Duplicant is cheaper but the the Ingester just looks like its something the Simic would keep as a pet

Simic Sky Swallower and Nulltread Gargantuan- Its just a huge beaters that are good for triggering evolve.

Fertilid - This card was made for this deck. Rampant growth every turn? sure Thanks. It was also mentioned in another thread as a way to mess with someone with Sensei's top out. They use top, put the best card on top, and you say, ummm no, search your deck for a land instead.

Murkfiend Leige- Im guess if Seedborn is out, then thats why this one would be too but doesnt hurt to mention

Biomass Mutation- Since most of creatures in the deck are small this kinda helps give them a overrun like effect espically since the counters you put on them will only boost them further.

Llanowar Reborn- Free counters are good counters...

Im currently testing Despise and Distress in my Lazav deck as kinda pseudo-spot removal removal for creature sitting in someones hand that they either tutored for or got bounced. Its actually worked pretty well with Head Games to put someones's Ulamog into their hand then Despise it and swing with Lazav Smile

Im currently testing Despise amd Distress in my Lazav deck. I figured it kinda works as pseudo-spot removal on someones hand. Ofcourse Id want to hit someone's hand with a fatty in it, but worse case, I make them pitch a combo piece and I get applause from the table for letting the game continue. I might try Head Games too since this would help with the Despise targets and its kinda in Dimir's Flavor to do something like this lol.
