I think wizards finally gets the message on what cards we want reprined and get the picture that the flagship format Is commander and not inmlimit print run sets
I think the 10 fetchlands is the only cards they refuse to reprint now
Refuse is a rather strong word. Wizards has already confirmed that they'll be reprinting them later this year (in addition to the Secret Lair).
People that mean absolutely no harm are labeled and blamed for almost everything , and suddenly violence against them is "justified" , even encouraged, and the mob is destroying monuments, property and throwing rocks at people.
Its the same stupidity as Nazi Germany did against the jews, its labeling a enemy out of thin air and completely goes over the rails to lash out.

"This is just like the Holocaust" absolutely must be reserved for serious cases. For example, India's government recently passed an anti-Muslim equivalent to the Nuremberg Laws. at this point all kinds of innocent acts are labeled racist, so that normal interaction cannot happen.
If someone will blame and claim the superior against you all the time, you are faced with resistance and oppression.
If someone plays Invoke Prejudice and is for that reason alone labeled a racist, then you fail to use the word properly.
It has nothing to do with racism to play that card, and its absolutely damaging and downright destructive to make anything a race topic.
Plenty of LGS and people come together and play a card game, we have fun and its welcoming.

It divides them, it produces actual real hate and it splits the community so deeply, that nothing positive will come out of that.

Being hyper sensitive to pseudo insults is only making matters worse.
Joking around in a community is absolutely normal and healthy, and nobody is superior to anybody else.
People that just claim victim status and use that as a weapon to literally destroy a community do nothing good, they are the doom of a store and kill the game in their area.
Its not helping anybody, if at all, people need to be lifted above a victim status and become part of a community, equal to each other and free of racist thoughts and blame, as a community that is based on blaming each other is just hateful and claims to do good, while burning everything down.

This entire show that is currently going on and years before it is not helping anybody, it just fuels the resistance and produces real hate and racism, which is many times worse than it was to begin with.
Banning these cards is not doing anything good.
Its pandering to a current very disturbing trend and removing it later will further fuel the hate, so its questionable if people are even allowed to talk about anything anymore, as anything could suddenly be labeled racist or otherwise hateful, by someone that just wants to stir up some hate, for whatever reasons.
Not everyone needs to like or be ok with everything, you can blame and dislike a lot of things, but you dont BAN stuff for that, if you can have a much more healthy discussion about a topic and allow that to happen.
Countless groups world wide will have no problem at all with these cards, but "some" people do.
That is also true for lots of other cards, and its completely unreasonable to ban all of them, as some individual might find them offensive, no matter what, any card will in some way potentially be offensive to somebody on this planet.
Even different countries in the world have very different views of what is offensive and what is not, even make stuff illegal.
- China does not allow human skulls, so all the art is changed that has them, its a lot of art that is different just for China.
- Removing religious symbols from cards was to pander to the christian fanatics.
- Removing sexy depictions of women was to please the SJW movement.
- The diversity train is currently plowing through the art of Magic.
- More characters and art had to be forced into the game to please the LGBT* crowd.
All kinds of stuff is to please some group, but non outright BANNED cards to get to their goal.
To truly help someone that is actively discriminated, any means are reasonable.
But to claim and blame all the people as racists and instigate a fight between them, is just fueling the hate, which very visible results in aggressions, destruction, blood and death ; nobody can want that, and still they push it to that level, blind to what they do.

Before this thread gets closed: It's important to realize that some of these cards weren't banned just for art - ALL of these cards were banned for the sole purpose of denying racists any pleasure from getting to play them. The text on some of these cards itself is problematic when taken out of context, and we all know there are some unfortunate souls playing magic who will take this text out of context as a "joke" - let's deny them that pleasure, please!
In reality this does the exact opposite.
The cards are almost everywhere sold out.
They got a massive attention boost and people will just oppose this nonsense.

WotC made itself a laughing stock, more than they already are with this action.
Claiming racism in specific cards and ignoring anything else on other cards is not consistent and flooding the banned lists with cards for "racist" reasons is just pathetic and stupid, as it gives these cards even more attention (barely anybody that isnt a long term player knew these cards existed, and with this action everyone will know them for as long as they are banned).
This entire show is just pandering to a woke ideology that is just not doing anything good for the world, but spread chaos, destruction, and hurts people.
The exact opposite is needed, bringing people together, this just divides it even more.
If this movement manages to put an end to police brutality, I'd consider that "good for the world." Our founding fathers "spread chaos, destruction, and hurt people" for the sake of the right to self-governance, and I'd reckon the right to live is a fair bit more important a thing to riot for.

That's neat. In a lot of fantasy, you only get to choose up to two: old, female, powerful. Magic's the only property I can think of that has such a wealth of dangerous old women.
I didn't know there was a angel themed booster-package. Strange... I know that you need two booster to create a deck but aren't angels a little to expensive Manawise? The cheaper ones are often in a higher rarity. I didn't expect them to fill many rare+ cards in there. You could combine them with a cheap themed booster I guess but isn't that super random. I thought there were more balanced. And the product is filled with reprints, too. So we could end with no new angels at all.
It's just speculation, but angels are popular enough that no angel pack seems like a big missed opportunity. It would be foolish of them not to.
I see a 2 Mana 4/4 flying Angel for a sacrifice/already doomed creature/planeswalker. Or a emergency removal. Get rid of that ugin for example. That's nice. In feather decks you could upgrade your tokens/creatures for some angels (or just play divine visitation).
I hope we get some new angel creatures in this set but I fear that the dogs and humans will take to much place.
Well, we can at least expect to get enough angels for an angel-themed Jumpstart pack.
It's also a decent buff to commanders like Glissa, the Traitor and Massacre Girl. I've had plenty of games where I avoided targeting a commander because I wanted Glissa to trigger.
I accept that "whales" are an important part of the game and the community, but I can't help but think that many of the pushed, even broken cards in recent standard play indicates that the company has begun to propritize 'chasing whales' over the game and player base's overall health. As for Arena, I don't have enough experience with it or other similar games to describe its system as problematic or otherwise.
Why does it always have to be a conspiracy? They just got massively overconfident about their shiny new Play Design team. If the were deliberately throwing game balance to the wind in favor of short term profit, they wouldn't have wasted the money on restructuring their design teams to to add Play Design in the first place.
What's next? A reimagining of modern cards by Kaja and Phil Foglio? This is the ugliest Secret Lair drop so far...oh well, I've never bought any of them and these definitely won't change my mind.:thumbsdown:

Once upon a time there was this thing called Expeditions/Masterpieces..
They were a big deal for a year or two until they realized they kinda "mined the space" a bit too aggressively and (shock!) realized that weren't actually a limitless number of themes you could do before running into really random stuff. Lesson Learned.

Lol. Who is this product for, exactly? I have absolutely no idea what they are doing with these. Each new one somehow manages to be MORE niche than the one that preceded it. I mean....it's really something.
Things might be significantly better in all formats if they put these same resources into, I dunno...beefing up the playtesting department? You know, something the game actually *NEEDS*. Pretty sure we'll survive without ANOTHER BoP reprint.
Being super niche the whole point of Secret Lairs. If these were just regular niche, they'd be showcase cards or otherwise sold in stores. But imagine being a store owner and having to order a product that there is a decent chance 0 people will want. These exist to make a very, very small portion of the fanbase super happy and be ignored by everyone else.
And Wizards beefing up the playtesting department is the reason why we're in this mess. They created the Play Design team and hired a bunch of new people, then got overconfident and deliberately raised the average powerlevel, even though Play Design was by definition inexperienced because the job had only existed for a short while.
