Hello all, with the release of Dark Ascension, and a return to magic with this block, I purchased Gravepower intro deck. Now I understand most of the graveyard mechanics, my question comes with the balancing Blue v/s Green graveyard bonuses for mana distribution.
Green seems to directly benefit from the number of creatures in you graveyard (Splinterfrieght, Spider Spawning, Boneyard Wurm)
Blue seems to use the graveyard as a casting cost (Every Skaab card ever.)
Which color gives more of an edge, based on recent card pool and meta?
My first question is, why is it your worst nightmare?
I have at least 2 of all cards in the deck, I dont have a solid decklist at the moment, but Kilnmouth Dragon, Bogardan Hellkite, and Voracious Dragon seem to be the best cards overall. Any way to get clever with this deck would be much appreciated.
So on a whim, I picked up one of the duel decks. They are poorly constructed and land heavy, but I love the theme's. anyone wanna help a guy out an help un-suck these decks?
Okay, we'll stat with a very specific example. The top decks I see are valakut ramp, Caw-blade, and Eldrazi ramp, the only one that I understand is the Eldrazi, can someone perhaps give me a walkover of win-cons of the decks then?
So I am not exactly a noob to magic, but I have no experience with competitive magic. I have kept a tab on the top standard decks, but there seems to be no creativity, and to be honest some of them don't seem so great. Can someone please explain why this is?
I don't think equipment is the only route to go here. The ratsnest I got from a freind, so I do not have the jitte. I am certainly not a purist when kamigawa is involved so, can anyone point me in the direction of cost effective aceleration or creature removal?
So, picked up three of the expert level Kamigawa decks recently, and started fiddling with the Ogre/Demon deck, here's what I've got thus far. Added some better cards. I took out cards that screamed utter crap, here's the list.
Now, I know I probably need another copy of Bloodspeaker and Bloodthirsty Ogre, but my main issue is early defense or control. I have considered some of the cheaper changeling's to cut down the negative effects as well, but would like input first. I have read an article on this deck called "Critters and Critter Removal" which gave some insight, but I'd like a little more, so any help?
