I've been having great success with the archetype, but recently the number of g/b decks in my local meta has been on the rise and the deck just simply folds to a carnage tyrant (main board) if you can't throw a creature on its path, often time people would say just block it with a big drake, but somwtumes they get to ramp fast enough and with all the removal g/b has it's really gett8ng annoying
So that brings me to the question, aside from detection tower, how do you deal with carnage tyrant?
As you can see there are some card choices that you'd normally not see in the regular lists such as twilight prophet. Getting the city's blessing is not that hard for this deck especially with seal away. The burn and gain life from prophet might help get in the last points of damage across while keeping us alive and providing advantage at the same time.
Admiral's orders is an odd card, but strangely, I like having the option to counter removal against my attacking creature for 1 mana while serving as a hard counter at normal times. Syncopate is just for waiting it out against opponents who tap out for walkers or any early threat.
Nezahal is just big and really annoying at times. Reminds me of pearl lake ancient
Pretty straight forward draw-go playstyle deck that really isn't too similar with other lists
Hi everyone, it sure has been a while. Just wanna ask you guys of what you think of using bedlam reveler in the main 60?
Hi bryanbogz, I use Bedlam reveler with the Demigod of Revenge build, but I think that 3 or 4 are a bit too much. Since we exile Faithless Looting to recast it, sometimes you will find yourself with a heavy hand without being able to cast Bedlam Reveler.
This way, I personally think that 1 or 2 is enough on the deck.
Hi everyone, it sure has been a while. Just wanna ask you guys of what you think of using bedlam reveler in the main 60? I've seen how good it is in the mardu pyromancer decks and I think we can use it the same way in ours. I was currently thinking of reducing copies of night's whisper to fit him in so that the creature base would look something like this
4 demigod of revenge
1 pia and kiran nalaar
1 kalitas, traitor to ghet
3-4 bedlam reveler
Oh my meta is jund and tron infested at the moment. There's the occasional ponza, burn and boogles too. Good to know that I can run the deck without it. Right now I have a pair of spatial contortions jammed in.
What do you guys think of filigree familiar as a main or side board inclusion. Gives you a blocker, some gain, and it replaces itself when it dies. I'm trying to see if running it alongside solemn simulacrum can work out.
Hello all, I'm new to playing mono U tron. I've mostly been playing grixis delver, but have gotte tired of it so I built myself a mono U tron deck. But right now I don't have a copy of chalice of the void, is there something else I can use in its place? Thanks
So jtms and bloodbraid just got released from the ban prison. Would you guys think pithing needle or sorcerous spyglass is worth a slot or two in the side board?
Have had success with my list, but there's one kink in the armor.
RG Tron has been my bane in my meta. What options do we have for the sideboard against them?
Feels like my only real option is to mulligan to Blood Moon and hope I draw several Dreadbore - and even then I feel like I'm struggling to keep up...
I hate playing against tron (of any form) in my LGS so I usually pack in molten rain from the side board and plenty of discard that can target their key cards post game 1
I'm pretty sure that the whole abzan tokens has been making rounds in mtgo and has been talked about already so just want to share the token deck I've been playing with hoping to get some more input on how to improve on it.
The deck has the abilty to gain ridiculous amounts of life and having nothing to sink all that extra hp into seems like a waste so I want to try out using vona in this shell.
Pretty straight forward, just create lots of tokens and grind out the opponent
So went to fnm today and ended up 3-2 winning against an esper vehicle deck, RG dinosaurs, and temur energy. While losing to a BG constrictor deck and sultai scarab god (due to really awful mulligans)
Observations:
-Legion's landing can be cut to just 3, still works fine.
- the 1 drop flying whote vampire really is good with a mavren fein out as they can rarely block it, and far too often I see it eat abrade or lightning strike.
- bishop of the bloodstained can be cut completely from the deck. In fact maxing out sanctum seeker while adding in more call to the feast seems to be much better route for the deck.
- mavren fein is really among the more necessary cards to ensure max token output and in fact am considering to up to 3 copies while cutting or moving yahenni to the sideboard.
- sword point diplomacy is the real deal. In all my games today I was able to draw an average of 2 cards with it, the opponent choosing to take 3 damage to just get rid of a sanctum seeker or removal spell that I already have a copy in my hand. In one game I was able to make an opponent take 6 with it because he wanted to get rid of ixalan's binding and a aanctum seeker, but I already have one at hand.
I was thinking about that today, actually. The catch with that one is it turns more into a token control deck as the color combination doesn't have a lot of ramp in itself to get the gift out and having to give space for Refurbish is rough already in a deck with a load of 4 drops.
I agree with you there, you need at least 5 spots for the gate/gift package and attrition is really the only way to make sure you get the grave filled to activate gate.
As for a token deck I asked my friend to share his build.and this is what he showed me.
From what he told me the goal is pretty simple leech life with sanctum seeker then close out with bishop of the bloodstained. Annointed procession helps with this by doubling the tokens for bigger life drain. Not sure if I'll adopt the same strategy, but at least its a start on making a tribal token deck. Though I wish there was a way to accelerate that 5 drop banner for an anthem effect
Anybody bothered trying a vampire tribal with god pharoah's gift?
I mean you have a lot of good targets between vicious conquistador, gifted aetherborn, up to sanctum seeker.
I saw a friend playing with a token version and it seemed a bit on the control side with annointed procession, call to the feast, sanctum seeker and bishop of the bloodstained to close out the game. He was spouting tokens all over the place even sweltering suns wasn't enough to stem the horde of tokens
So that brings me to the question, aside from detection tower, how do you deal with carnage tyrant?

I like sword point diplomacy a lot since its either card draw for you or damage for the opponent.
Was thinking of including metallic mimic, but decided against it til I give this version a spin.
