I wanted to get advice on a merfolk deck I made on mws which I plan to purchase to play with my mates and I wanted some advice on what to keep, what to scrap etc. The main idea of this deck was to build up an army with the merfolk while countering with the spells
I've been out of the loop with MTG for about a year or two and I am getting back I am a little bit hazy on some of the stuff, any help is appreciated.
1. If a creature has islandwalk (landwalk) what are the ways you can defend against it besides burning or exiling it.
2. I have not yet played with any planeswalkers, how exactly do you damage them do you have to declare an attack on the planeswalker like you do with a player?
3. If you tap creatures to bring out a creature with convoke can you also play the ability of the creature being tapped? For example if the creature has "t: deal 1 damage to target creature" can I tap the creature for convoke and deal damage or only one. Same goes with blocking can i block and deal damage or not?
4. I understand that you are not allowed to have four of one card in a deck but what about four types of non basic lands like legendary lands or non basic lands or lands like Halimar Depths. Also with legendary lands can you only have one on the field at any one time like with legendary creatures?
5. I understand that with creatures that have protection from red that red spells don't do anything to them. What happens if an opponent blocks(or attacks and is blocked) with a red creature against a creature that has pro red if both are 2/2.
6. If a creature has protection from blue can you still counter it before it enters the battlefield or does the protection ability act first

The reason I didnt get multiples of some cards was because I capped my self at $50 to spend on this deck no more.
Right now im thinking of getting rid of coralhelm commander for something else and maybe getting a lord of atlantis, but Im not sure
