Kiki is a good deck. It clearly has what it takes to beat other decks and take down major events. The issue is, it just doesn't see a lot of play (or as much play as a deck like Melira Pod), which keeps it from being "Proven". Proven decks represent the current metagame and Kiki Pod just doesn't have enough showings to meet those criteria.
I know that it's an good deck. I was just abit sad that it's popularity and success had come down so much during my little break. That's all.
I once again decided to dust off my decks after the summer and I returned here to see what had happened during the past months.
And then I see that ol'Kiki isn't doing that well. Oh well, lets try to come up with some ideas.
Ok I've been mulling this idea around in my head after I saw Zurgo.
The inspiration was that he is indestructible on your own turn, so the first ideas were that she ducks under Elspet's second and other mass removal.
That eventually led to hybridising the ideas with my current Ajani's Friends shell. (Since I already had most of the pre Khans cards including the fetchs).
So the decks underneath. I'd really like to hear peoples opinions on the mana base since it is a four colour deck and I really don't know how to construct a manabase fit for four colours. Suggestion on what I should put into my Sideboard are also really welcome.
Plus there's the possibility that I'd replace Polukranos, World Eater with Butcher of the Horde, but I'll have to see if Butcher actually works.
I'm getting warmer and warmer in my sweet place just following these spoilers. Finaly I can once more make a true Naya deck. This fits it fine even without the Miracle cost.
At first I was like: "Ok, another R manacost 1/1 for red."
Then I read the part that you may have an opponent deal 4 to him and force you to sacrifice him. Then I was like: "Umm... What?"
I had to open the thread to notice that wasn't a 1/1, but a bloody 4/3.
He's just bonkers. Got to get 4 of them for my G/R.
Hi guys, I just came into possession of three more Birthing Pod's thanks to the New Phyrexia box I just bought and since they're some of the best cards I pulled (it was a disappointing box, first one that was bad) and I am looking to see how to use it. I haven't played many combo decks and I was wondering if someone could give a description as to how this deck works? Since I have a playset now I would like to use it but I am a bit unsure as to how this deck is supposed to be run. It seems like a cool deck but I just don't get the 'big picture' with it at the moment.
Mate read the first post. It is the primer. Everything is explained in it and there's a list of cards that you can find very useful in the deck, but I'll give you a quick rundown.
To get The Combo off you need to have a Viscera Seer (he can sac dudes without any additional costs) and Melira, the Sylvok Outcast (because of her Persist abilities do NOT put -1/-1 counters on your creatures. Then you need either Kitchen Finks to gain infinite life or Murderous Recap to deal infinite damage. Remember that if you got Finks on the board with Melira and Seer you can just Scry for the Redcap and kill you opponent on the next turn.
That's the basic idea of the deck. Have fun with it.
It seems that none in our game group has the pieces to sleeve up Tron at the moment, so I'd appreciate if somebody could give any hints of MeliraPod's match up against Tron.
Both U/W and U/R versions would help.
@DeftJackal
I know that my manabase would come up, but the thing with it is that I'm trying to see if it'll work or should I just revert back to the regular one. I'm just trying it, that's one of the reasons why we'll be play testing next weekend.
About the Fulminator Mage I'll keep it since it makes the Tron match up atleast abit better but that's just me. Maybe Phyrexian Metamorph and Aven Mindcensor are enough against the match up, I'm not sure.
I know that Elesh Norn isn't the best card against alot of the playing field, but if I encounter someone who tries to just flood the board with creatures I think that I might need her in adition to Silent Arbiter and Pontiff. I'm not sure about though, but I got a friend who's got a few agro decks with him.
About the Obstinate Baloth what are peoples general feelings about it, is it helpful or not?
So this is the deck that I've cooked up. We'll be playtesting next weekend with my friends and see how the deck'll work, but I'm always open to criticism.
That's my deck at the moment, but I got alot of cards from the Primer that I can just switch in on a moments notice.
The thing is that I'm going to attend two PTQs. One is the only PTQ in our country so I have no idea what the meta will look like and the other PTQ will be in a neighbouring country so I'll have even less insight about the meta there. So I'm trying to build a deck that can take on as many decks as possible, atleast from an angle, if that makes any sense.
I'll be posting our my feeling on my current setup after the playtesting.
See ya!
Edit: Hmm... It seems that we'll have to post pone play testing later into the week. Will be posting results from it.
Edit 2: A friend came to visit me last weekend and luckily he agree to run his U/W Tron against me. (He's coming to the PTQ so he too wanted to test his deck.)
True the matchups isn't in our favor, but I found out that I atleast have a chance to get a 2-1 if I run Metamorph main deck and I think that he isn't even half bad if he copies on of our creatures in the first matchup and just beats down our opponent.
Plus I reverted the manabase back to the normal one. The Sejiri Steppes and the Tectonic Edge just weren't working for me.
And I decided to cut a Pod for a Chord of Calling. I just feel that it will help me more.
I know that it's an good deck. I was just abit sad that it's popularity and success had come down so much during my little break. That's all.

I'd like to see it a lot.
Ditto this.
I'll give a hint. Indians invented it.
