Looking for nobles and chalice. Since the game will die soon as you say, I'll take them for cheap.

Any other people who think the sky is falling, message me to sell off your soon to be worthless collection

i did have twin for a while and i enjoyed that deck. i've never really played combo outside of twin and angry druid(EDH). aggro isnt my style at all, i have the fetches just need guides and eidolons.

thanks for the advice, ill proxy burn and eventually get the cards. cant wait to get a full rock/paper/scissor of decks going

hello salvationers! its been a while since ive played modern and im looking to complete some decks to have each style built.

right now i have Jund, Tron, and UWr Nahiri built. I want to build control, aggro, midrange, combo, big mana decks.

I have mid and big mana decks built. I'm going to take apart UWr and possibly transform it into Jeskai Saheeli or Esper.

What are my options for aggro? affinity or goblin guide? is there a more budget friendly hyper aggro deck?

Does Jeskai Saheeli take up my slot for control and combo? If not I'll build Esper for control and UR gifts for combo.

    thanks!

Played this deck last night, made a hasty sideboard because I was running late. Damn does this deck do nothing! Now I know I'm a nobody that tested at fnm and finkel is a pro having a great run at a pro tour but I think this was a Meta deck.
Deck 'went off' twice in three matches and even when I was doing everything, I wasn't really closing the game out.
Rd 1 against rb dragons, game two I lose to a top deck DL, game three I just have no gas after he takes away key pieces of my hand.
Rd 2 I lose to this terrible pilot with a terrible mono b vampire deck. Major flooding and bad draws get me the 0-2. After the game he tries to give me tips on my 'elves' deck because all he saw was Nissa, advocate, and languish.
Rd 3 I draw with a ur thopter deck. Hangarback, spy network and counters ensure I'm not doing anything.

Deck felt so clunk, I loved it when it did it's thing but I'm gonna tune it and maybe splash a color for a card that would win me the game

went 2-2 last night. beat mono red and some jank deck, lost to esper dragons and atarka red.
dang, this deck is awkward or at least the build i used. The colorless cards are insanely good! I think that a more midrange version of this deck will emerge with Reality Smasher, Matter reshaper, Warping Wail and Spatial Contortion.
I dont think i had enough middle cards to play, something i will adjust in the future.

I played this deck at TCGplayer states and at game day. i made it mainly to combat aggro, GW megamorph, and Dark jeskai.
i got 5th at states Illinois, went 4-0-1 in swiss then lost in the top 8 to a control deck. went 3-2 at gameday, lost to an abzan deck that got the better luck in late game top deck mode and to a crappy BW warriors deck piloted by a person that doesnt know how to play. Guess thats variance for you haha.

At states i made the mistake of thinking no one would play control because dark jeskai, deathmist/den, atarka red would just roll over it. So i played no discard in the SB. i changed that for gameday and realized the mistake.

I never fear jace with this deck. there has only been one game where it flipped and maybe 2 times where the other player actually got to activate it.

I love Kommand way too much, i might go up to four copies. killing a creature and making them discard feels like it pulls me ahead of the grind match up. against control making them discard and bringing back a creature just wears them out.

all the PWs have ended the game at least once. Gideon is great but double white could be a problem, ive only experienced it once. Sorin is mandatory and it allows you to bash in and not worry about the attack back, also great to ult against GW decks. Sarkhan is an all star, several time i put a jeskai deck on tilt because they were expecting a creature to be cast and there is very little they can do to a PW. Ob has been a solid 10 for me, he isnt game breaking but it usually drowns your opponent in CA. Ugin, well its ugin.

Trouble cards: den protector, i usually dont care about deathmist coming back because at that stage i can out race them with flying dudes, its the grab any card to pull you out of a situation that is hard to stop for me. card draw in pure control decks is tough. i cant sit there and wait to beat them, they just have a much better late game if they can stop your threats and refuel. DL silumgar was a blowout against me, taking my walkers then ulting them or using them as removal was an awful feeling.

I feel really good with this deck but im on the fence of adding a forth color, mainly to help fetch white colors.
Blue: if i went blue, i would jam 4 jace MB and some exert influence in the SB. i would also try out the UW and UB dragonlords along with drifty silumgar
Green: mainly just for den protector and abzan charm. Charm would give me the card draw that this deck lacks plus a solid removal spell, although im not hurting on removal. den and Kommand sounds very nasty but maybe a bit mana intensive i would also try out DL dromoka.

the splash wouldnt be for much, mainly to fetch a white source. ill probably test out jace this week and get back to you.

please add your own input, i love the Walker control version of these colors

is Abzan control a dead deck now with this new hangar aggro deck around?

during game day i played abzan aggro because there was alot of mono red and ensoul decks running around. Murdered everyone to the top 8 and my first round in the top 8 was abzan control....i felt completely useless both games and they werent close. now mind you that this was before hangarback walker tech but i cant imagine it would help the deck out that much. Also, aggro is light on Downfalls and thoughtseize, allows for Elspeth to run away with the game.

I tried hangarback in abzan control and it was a very bad idea, never am i sitting around with mana and every other card outclassed it.
cast on turn 2, cant activate on 3 or 4 because im doing removal into rhino.
cast on turn 4, rather slam a rhino
cast on turn 6, rather have elspeth

What is the difference between midrange and control or are sites using that interchangeably?
Anyways, I've been missing fleecemain alot but he is just bad vs languish. With no early drops, dramoka's command becomes an awful card, something that was amazing before Origins. I've been testing out hangarback walker to see if he is suitable for an early and late creature like fleecemain was. Well it is as amazing as I thought. Here is my list.

    4 siege rhino
    4 courser of kruphix
    4 hangarback walker
    2 nissa, vastwood seer
    2 den protector
    1 dragonlord dramoka

    4 abzan charm
    3 heros downfall
    3 dramoka's command
    3 thoughtseize
    2 languish

    2 elspeth, sun's champion

    4 sandsteppe citadel
    4 temple of malady
    4 temple of silence
    4 windswept heath
    4 forest
    1 plains
    2 caves of koilos
    2 llanowar wastes
    1 urborg, tomb of yawgmoth

I've been playing abzan for months now and before Origins, I had it perfected. Every time I feel like trying a new deck I always immediately go back to abzan.

Ps I'll format everything and write more when I get on a computer.

ha. i remember playing against Speck in a legacy SCG, we were both 5-3. 6-3 would get you into day 2. he was playing sneak and show. he always had a god hand, game two i just got lucky and had all the counters. game three he played defense grid turn one with FOW back up into turn two Show and tell with emrakul. talk about perfect hand.

For the people playing Abzan Control: what do you think about cutting fleecemane lion for deathmist raptor? I already run 3-4 Den Protector. There are pros and cons to both, the two drop stands out the most i would think even though late game, raptor does much more. Plus raptor can attack through anything.

report time! I won the 2nd gameday on sunday with a slightly changed list from previous. I know i dont have the reps with this deck as most of you have but there are some questionable cards i wanted to talk about.
Saturday list was brad nelsons list except:
    -1 Urborg
    -1 Anafenza
    +1 Mana confluence
    +1 Tasigur

    sundays list:
    -1 Anafenza
    -1 Surrak
    +2 Boon satyr

reason for this change was that the 3 spot was lonely and far too often i had two legendary creatures in my hand. i remember one game where i was in top deck mode and had surrak out, literally any threat would have won the game...i drew surrak :/
Tasigur was amazing, not sure why brad didn't include this guy. Boon Satyr won me 2 games where i bestowed it on a rhino for trample lethal.
every loss on sunday was because of bad misplays on my part.
ok so question time now.... How do your guys feel about Warden? I think he is amazing but every time i cast him on turn one i had to choose between casting him or making a turn two play. I do like him but maybe as someone suggested, deathmist raptor?

played gameday yesterday. went 4-2, lost in the finals to esper dragons and lost match 1 to massive land screw games 2 and 3. should note that the finals were pretty awful, game 1 mull to 6 with a bad hand because a mull to 5 just says lets go to game 2 against control.

i played with brad nelsons PT deck except i swapped one anafenza with a tasigur and one Urborg with a mana confluence.

so how do we beat control? now they can turn two counter, make us sac our troublesome creatures, gain life, bring back dragons and ugin from the yard.

    more discard? sac effects?

gonna play with this deck again and maybe find some slots for boon satyr. ill report tonight

you should be playing Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury, makes for better blowouts and lowers your curve. If you want to beat control, you need more pressure on them in the form of Ashcloud Phoenix. Kolaghan's Command should also be maindeck, a solid 2for1 and you want to keep the board clear until you go on the offensive with your 4/5 drops.
if you want to splash another color, white is the obvious answer, crackling doom and butcher of the horde are great cards to keep the pressure up. also all the great sideboard options white brings.

before the new set, i played a mardu flying deck that had no problem with control at all, they couldnt keep up with all the flying, haste, and hard threats to get rid of. i didnt even main board thoughtseize
