Wild Pair is useless unless u hardcast ur creatures. so u might want to take that out as well
try to add stuff like Tooth and Nail, Chord of Calling, Green Sun's Zenith in these help u cheat creatures in faster, u can even add Quicksilver Amulet
u might also want to run atleast 38 lands for a 3 color deck.
... agreed. need to get my hands on one of those too...
and wild pair is a champ. i love that card andeverything it does. i'm not always cheating cards into play. and when i dont i get two creatures for the price of one. got to love that Card Advantage
I would probably just replace Farseek with Nature's Lore. Same cost, but no CIPT on the Lore.
all i have to say to this is, "BAH!!" i really doesnt matter if it comeinto play tapped or not. if i was building more on the competitive side i guess i would consider it.
i first noticed Mayael the Anima one PTQ not so long ago. i played a few games with some random guy in Seattle, and he didnt seem to like the fact that Momir Vig kept comboing off in his face on turn 5. so he gave the ultimatum that most player's hate to hear, "I'm never plaing you again unless you switch decks."
"Wow." i said. "Well can i use one of your's? i dont have anyothers at the moment."
He says, "Sure." and pulls out his deck box. he thows three sleeved cards face down on the table and says, "Pick one."
so naturally i rolled for it. and to my great surpise i fell in love with this general. and without me going into the mushy stuff, here is my first attempt at Mayael the Anima.
not a huge fan of the mono red. it looks like fun, just not the kind of fun i was looking for. it kinda takes away from the Liquimetal Coating. and that was the whole point of building this deck
well. i wouls have to mention that when building pauper, you ARE going to have to deal with storm combo. and really, the only way around that is to try and throw a wrench in their plan by countering some of their ramp. so you are going to need quite a bit of those 2 drop counters. or i guess just hoping that they try to go off and just peeter out is an option. thats what pauper RDW does.
well, the idea behind the deck has to be a classic blue approach to any game of magic it has ever played. counter everything, bounce what you didnt have the mana to counter, and beat face with 2/2's.
any input is welcome. let me now if i missed something. i havent really got a chance to play this much. not very many people at my shop seem to like pauper.
it was never supposed to be good. i was just looking for something odd to play for fun at our free tournies. just wondering if i missed some idea that would make it run smoother.
1st turn: Forest, Mana Vault
2nd turn: Plains, Miri's Wake
3rd turn: Mountain, Wild Pair
4th turn: Shenanagens
and what about adding Braingyser? or some other forced target player draws X?
and props on the deck. i like the idea it was built around
you are right. i'll need to add that when i get one
