Crazy synergy with Sylvan Library for an 8/8 every 3 turns! I agree it's definitely too slow unless you've got some really abusive card draw going on. And at that point, aren't you winning anyhow? I think it might be comparable to an 8/8 for 1U Suspend 8 that gets a little better with looters and card draw.

Nobody's mentioned this yet, but Fungal Infection (which will certainly be common to uncommon) seems viable.

B, Instant - "Target creature gets -1/-1 until end of turn. Create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token."

Trades with X/2 creatures on defense, can ping off utility guys while leaving a 1/1 body.

Choose three. You may choose the same mode more than once.
    • Create a 1/1 red and white warrior token.
    • Deal 1 damage to target creature or player.
Warrior Hammerblast II would be sick. I think instant+splitting damage is too broken, and not being able to hit out-of-combat targets makes it bad for picking off utility targets.

There's so many times that Arc Lightning sits awkwardly in hand, and this spell wouldn't have the same issue.

Definitely running Heirloom Blade, the black curse and red curse. Blue curse could be alright too.

If I had to make a decision, I would probably use printed creature types. If there was more tribal support in general, I would consider only using card printings where creature type matters Oracle.

I really wished they had made the white curse the creature spawner (W for spawning 1/1s, or 2W for spawning 2/2s), and make black curse drain a life from the victim everytime somebody attacks them. Parroting what somebody else said, odd that black curse is pretty much identical to last time.

There's also Predator's Howl, but it might be a little inconsistent to trigger Morbid with a ramp deck.

The burn creatures are bad on curve, you're missing out on board development to effectively bolt your opponent in the face (but worse because it actually has counterplay, so it's more of a punisher effect really). Still, Marauders is generally a lava axe for 2 mana and gets crazy with haste and blink so I'd run it before the Hellspark.

Yeah, I'm super glad WOTC started printing a lot of aggressive creatures with etb/on-attack triggers that prevent blocks. It's hard to find room for Falter spells that do nothing else.

Does this mean Niblis of the Urn is viable?

Seems better to cut the green completely (5 cards cut) and swap the Forests for more Plains and Swamps, and instead run the Chief, the two 2/1s, the Bloodthrone Vampire and the Shrine. At least it would start to become plausible to cast all those WW and BB cards.

As Leelue mentioned in another thread, Devoted Crop-Mate attacks on turn 4 and gets you back a 2-drop to attack on turn 5 with the crop-mate being dead or exerted, so you're basically able to attack with a 3/2 and then some persisted body essentially. Seems underwhelming. Maybe if it was a 1/4 or some stat line that could survive combat? 0 or 1.

Gust Walker on the other hand is great. It can bash for 2 and then go into 3/3 flying every other turn mode once the ground is mucked up. 3/3 flying isn't challenged by much outside of blue in terms of creature combat. I'd say it's a 2.

Trueheart Duelist is basically a bear with "When this dies, draw a Gray Ogre" with a bit of upside on top of that between being able to mill/discard it for value and occasionally being a super chump blocker, which offsets how small the body is later in the game. 2 or 1.

I wonder if catouche of black could be a 2. It's so ridiculous in amonkhet draft I thought to try it out.
Maybe only if the removal is dialed down can it work, though.
You're not even that high on Banewhip Punisher, which is either a 2/2 or B more for a murder instead of the +1/+1 lifelink enchantment so I'm hard pressed to see the cartouche as anything more than a 1. Is +1/+1 lifelink aura that valuable?

Subbed. I think the more in-depth content still belongs on this forum, whereas reddit has a great format for any more temporal thing such as the P1, P1 'What would you pick" posts which I see area already on there!

We did a hangout about a year ago! Back when I was in Upper East Side of NYC, anyways. For those unfamiliar with the greater NYC metro area, the distances are deceptive... the time it takes to travel a short distance is magnified for anything going through the city itself.

I'm not seeing it with Gonti's Machinations - you have to sacrifice it to steal life from them, and it can only hit the opposing player. You're losing card advantage to drain 3 and some energy, and it's a dead draw on top of that.

Scrapper Champion looks like the biggest double striker we've ever gotten. I wonder if it's good enough.

Maulfist Revolutionary is a 3/3 trample with pretty good upside, and green is a great color for the counter pumping synergy. You can always choose to target something inconsequential if there are counters you want to avoid duplicating.

Ridgescale Tusker seems good, and it's not even bad stats on its own.
