  • posted a message on Preferred Mulligan Type
One time some new guy started to do a partial paris and we were all like "HEY, HEY MAN, WE DON'T DO THAT HERE."
I don't really like seperating cards from the deck during the mulligan process, seems like cheating. Especially in EDH, a combo /sol ring format.

Does that mean you're against Birds of Paradise in Return to Ravnica? Smile

When they make a reprinted creature part of the flavor of the set, it's reasonable to imagine seeing them when we return to the set.

    Yes. Yes it does.
The more reprints there are, the more this becomes a core set.
I could see Paradise Plume show up as a cameo, but not birds.

If it's reprinted in RTR, it will get new art. The fact that it's in the Duel Decks with old art could tends to make this unlikely, especially since those decks have new art for some old cards (Prophetic Bolt).

    Trinket Mage

I don't think they'll reprint elves of deep shadow though. It was a clever reprint last time, but a reprint of a reprint is just too awkward.

  • posted a message on Why Are Three Rarities Acceptable, But Four Are Not?
There are plenty of cards back in the day that probably should have been mythic rares. I think Spiritmonger compares well to Baneslayer Angel.

So for ten mana you got to... uhhh... wish you were playing Mind Twist instead? I don't get it.
Terrible in multiplayer. Sealed Fate costs too much mana to do anything of note. I'd opt for Second Sight first if I wanted a one-shot effect of this type.

run Choke mainboard and watch the blue decks disappear. "That idiot runs choke all the friggin time, there's no way I'm playing islands."

  • posted a message on Karma - Overpowered?
Hate cards are for sideboards and combo enthusiasts. Karma is hilarious with Urborg, tomb of yawgmoth and Personal Sactuary.
I miss the old "if you satisfy the conditions on this baby, stand back!"

  • posted a message on Skullclamp - Banned if Mythic?
Ummmm, no legacy could not handle skullclamp. It would warp the format.

It would change the format in much the way Mental Misstep did but to a much, much lesser extent. There are plenty of established decks that do not benefit in the slightest from clamp. Unbanning a legacy playable card means people will play it, and I guess a 'warp' has happened after this, but I don't think its always a bad thing. Legacy would still exist.

  • posted a message on Green generals
Ezuri and Seton both play as a win condition, whereas Yeva just plays around with a little extra value, and looks worse than Teferi. I hate green cards that get eclipsed by BLUE cards in what they do!
I vote for Ezuri because he can really make games short as all getout. Seton is pretty good though.

  • posted a message on Garruk is from Shandalar.
Personally I think Thragtusk's art was designed after Garruk's beasts. The flavortext is actually almost an uninspired afterthought, though. "Always carry two spears." Is that a joke? I don't get it. I think he means Searing Spears, but its a stretch.

Does have some merit though. His father was a farmer who could casually use magic to grow his plants. Shandalar's biggest feature is high accessibility to magic. But the first beast Garruk runs into is what appears to be an Enormous Baloth. Legions didn't take place in Shandalar.

I'm looking at your profile, and I see it as a warning. Smile (An infraction would show up as a red card)

Keep in mind too that moderator policies have changed over time. Just adding that to preempt the guy from 2007 who got an infraction first.

Oh, ok, I see it now. It was listed under infractions so I thought it was an infraction this whole time.

  • posted a message on Skullclamp - Banned if Mythic?
Do you mean banned in its standard time, or in current Legacy?
I think if something of Skullclamp's power level were printed today, they would take their time banning it in standard, but wouldn't ban it in legacy for a long while. Legacy could handle Skullclamp because not every deck needs one when its legal... just a big number of them.

Everyone gets one warning, then it's infractions from there on. The next time he calls someone anything (fascist or not), it will be an infraction.

Funny you should say that everyone gets a warning, you guys infracted me right away for "image leeching" when I was brand new to the site without warning at all. Is that a "minimal tolerance" policy?
I mean, I'm not upset about that or anything. But you shouldn't say you always warn first when not all of you do.
